Several little butterflies shimmering and twinkling moving as one streamed into the room of the pae’il named Drizelda. Many purple and pink butterflies waited on Dizzy’s pillow poised to defend her from the oncoming onslaught.
Each shimmery butterfly seemed to vanish against a pink or purple butterfly, giving them a sheen that did not exist prior. When all of the local butterflies had been taken over by the foreign visitors, one by one they fluttered softly and wandered into Dizzy’s dreams.
A beautiful opalescent spire that touched the sky cast no shadow upon the land. There were no entrances, but the denizens still flew in and out as they continued on with their duties. The beings that were coming and going looked insectlike. They had long, slender limbs and delicate dragonfly wings fluttering so fast they weren’t even visible. Dizzy hovered in place and watched in awe while taking in the wonders of this strange land. The spire was such an enigma to her. It appeared to bend in the light at some angles. And the size didn’t change as she moved backward. The peculiarity of the building was incredible!
Curious, she fluttered over to the building, right up to the surface. Dizzy looked around to make sure no one was watching and she touched it.
It was like jello. Her fingertip created waves on the surface. The butterfly fae flew back a bit and studied the surface. It looked perfectly solid. She touched again, but this time with her whole hand.
The building pulled her hand in, swallowing her up.
One of the shining butterflies had been pushed from her mind by one of Dizzy’s own pink ones.
In the darkness, among the loud buzzing, a magnificent faerie pae hovered in front of Dizzy. "She is so glamorous," She thinks. "Her beautiful opalescent skin glows!".
“Loreweaver.” whispered the dragonfly-winged pae.
Another opalescent butterfly had been pushed from the dreaming fae’s mind.
Only one word echoed in her mind, “peace.” She was in this land to make peace.
“Young one, this land is for you. All of its bounty and glory can be yours. But you must bring peace to the shadow and the light.” The words came to her like an ethereal song, with many voices. “Your world depends on it.”
A warring opal butterfly and purple butterfly emerged from the sleeping pae. She groaned and rolled over, briefly opening her eyes a slit while sleeping. She caught a glimpse of the fighting butterflies. She recognized her own dream butterfly, but not the shiny one. She hummed and was back among the dreaming.
The breeze carried the scent of spring across the courtyard. The children giggled and sang while playing games. Dizzy smiled and held a finger out as a perch for the beautiful opalescent butterflies. She felt peace and comfort while sitting on the edge of the grand fountain.
“Find safety! HIde! Run!” the shouts and calls came out of nowhere. No one was prepared…
Another butterfly, shining green in the moonlight was pushed from Dizzy’s mind. A pink dream butterfly wouldn’t let it re-enter. But the others remained.
The string band played beautifully. The guests of the grand mansion wore masks as part of the theme of the holiday celebration. The fae in attendance dressed in their best fabrics. Dizzy giggled and put her hand on the shoulder of the gentleman that had escorted her to the party. Her decorated mask mirrored that of her male counterpart. Shimmering stones in the shape of a butterfly framed their faces. "Vale!"
“Run! Hide! They’re here!”
This time it took two of Dizzy’s own dream butterflies to eject the glowing one that had invaded her mind.
Fear and panic were all she could feel. Everything and nothing surrounded her, pushing on her mind.
