Round ILet’s be honest. Half the fun in watching ice-skating is seeing all the gorgeous costumes. As you first hit the ice and slide under the lights for warm-ups, you want to look your best. First impressions are everything after all. What kind of costume did you and your partner decide on? A) Sequins and sparkles. Glitter is the limelight’s best friend.
B) Long flowing silks that billow out behind you.
C) Something you can bounce around in, with ruffles and bows.
D) A literal costume. Nevermind that Haunted Hallows was a month ago. You have until December 8th to respond to this prompt!

Username: musicaloner7 Partner Username: Tsunake Prompt Choices: A Points Earned: 3 RP Response: Valory wasn't exactly pleased with the partner he was given, being the more brutish and less sophisticated type of individual, but he couldn't deny that the other had skills and abilities. He'd seen plenty of video from Tobias' previous performances and even though he wanted to point out numerous flaws, could only see the power and grace that intertwined so prominently. It was totally opposite to his own style, yet complimented it with the way his more elegant and precise movements.
Even so, this show was about him, not Tobias. His partner was all but an extension of himself, nothing more. And he was deciding what outfits they would wear. Without even consulting with Tobias, Valory had decided on their attire. A matching pair of sparkling and glittering hugging pieces that followed down each limb. The colours were a rich dark blue, silver, with black accents. Valory's was far more glamorous with the see through portions that trailed along his waist, and arm. After all, he wanted the eyes to be on him far more than Tobias... The man already towered over him enough to try and steal his spotlight.
"Tobias, I'll expect you to be in proper shape to wear this beautifully crafted suit." the privileged kumiho declared unabashed by any sort of feelings that it could stir up.His expectations were high like the ones placed upon him. Anything less than perfect wasn't' acceptable.

Tobias knew little of the diminutive kumiho personally, but he was the world's current hotshot. That meant he had to be good. His taste in outfits, however.... well, there was a reason his lip was curling back with displeasure. "I ain't wearin' that." He said flatly, his arms crossed as he leaned back against a nearby wall. Spandex was one thing, but the glitter? Hell no. And the gall of this brat, thinking he wouldn't be in top condition! Suddenly, he bared his teeth in a sudden grin, apparently having come to a decision. "Think I'll just take it easy and pig out before the competition. Y'know. Chill out and relax."
And absolutely not be forced into something that... glittered. The colors were nice, sure, but all that sparkling and twinkling was distracting. "Just because you're small doesn't need you have to try this hard to stand out." He offered as an afterthought.
Time to see just how easy this Valory's buttons were to push.

RP Response: To say that he was excited was an understatement. Meadow hand worked REALLY HARD with his friend and partner to make these costumes, and he was sure it all paid off. He and Aurelia had agreed they were going to be a rainbow, only not quite as you might expect. Meadow was dressed head to toe in red, orange, and yellow, and every inch of him was basically glitter. The colors shifted from one arm to the other, so when he'd hold hands with his partner, they could make a complete rainbow. The only thing that broke the trend were the laces on his skates. They were just fully rainbow.
The naiad had been looking forward to this for weeks, ever since he'd seen the flier about it, and he was so glad Aurelia had agreed to skate with him. He'd been practicing at school with some roller blades, but... ice skating, you had knives on your feet! (How cool was that?)

RP Response: Eira smiled over at her partner, and it wasn't even the least bit forced. He was so different from herself but they somehow fit together perfectly. Skating was a hobby for them, but it was one they enjoyed and it was something that helped them to unwind. Their costumes for the competition were a compromise. Eira had, of course, wanted sparkle, sparkle, sparkle! Tons of sequins and glitter and the transparent bits... But her partner was not interested. Totally not his thing.
So they compromised. No glitter, no sparkle. Even though they would have looked amazing under the lights. Instead, Eira got to make silky costumes that flowed out behind them as they moved. They had had to be very careful while practicing not to trip over the fabric or get caught up in each other's costumes and so many adjustments were made. The end result was worth it, and the shiny material would still shimmer under the lights. They were gonna own this!

RP Response: Ever since Meadow had showed her the flier for the skating contest, Aurelia had been counting down the days. She and Meadow had worked so hard on their costumes, trying to make sure they not only looked good but also worked together the way they intended to. Honestly, making the costumes had been the most fun part.....because Aurelia was not confident in her skating abilities and the idea of doing it in front of a bunch of strangers and looking like an idiot made her stomach feel like it was going to implode. She could handle it if she was only embarrassing herself...but she didn't want to embarrass Meadow.
Still, here they were in their complimentary rainbow glitter-bomb costumes with their rainbow-laced skates. The nixie looked around at the others participating and the champs who were judging them....and she suddenly felt like her legs were turning into jello. She'd practiced on rollerblades and even on the rink on actual skates but actually being here felt...different. Aurelia looked at Meadow and smiled nervously; he looked fantastic and they both already had glitter in their ears and hair for weeks beforehand thanks to the costume prep.

Meadow smiled at Aurelia as she seemed nervous. Meadow hadn't really gotten nervous yet. Or maybe he had been nervous, but it passed and now he was just excited. "I'm so ready for this. This is going to be so much fun! I've been coughing up glitter for days!" He practically beamed. He looked at Aurelia and pushed some hair back into place. Maybe he should have spent more time skating and less time working on the costumes, but he didn't care, really. He was here to have fun! He flashed her a toothy, confidant grin and then gave her hand a squeeze. "Razzle dazzle time."

RP Response: Aurelia was lost in her nervousness for a bit before she heard Meadow, looking at him covered in the warm spectrum of their rainbow and glitter and she couldn't help but giggle. He never stopped being his silly self and she was grateful for that, especially right now; it was a welcomed distraction from her nerves. Of course, watching him push hair back from his face made her blush for some reason and she tried push back the fluttery feeling in her stomach. "Just when I thought I got rid of the glitter in my frills, I wake up and find more in the same places. Why did we use so much?" She laughed, shaking her head.....which made glitter rain down a little from her hair and ear frills. Feeling him squeeze her hand, she looked back at him with a bright smile and a matching grip. "Razzle dazzle time. Let's be the best we can be."

The clear defiance from Tobias had that pristine and smooth features on the beautiful face begin to falter and contort. He didn't appreciate others not following his directions... small fingers curling tighter at his sides, and chest puffing out more to even further straighten his posture. "You will wear this, so that we will match." he sharply retorted, unfolding the long suit dedicated to Tobias, the sparkling sequence and gems on it twinkling and winking uncontrollably.
How could someone not like this? It was gorgeous, and so sophisticated! While most had to resort to far less pricey outfits for their performances, Valory was lucky to come from money and a family that expected him to succeed above all others. Thus his skating career was fully backed in anyway he needed: the best coaches and instructors, the best equipment, and any other extras needed for him to be at the top far past everyone else.
Walking over to Tobias, the petite beauty jutted his arms out to present the outfit right in front of his partner. Already, those crystal blue eyes were growing more and more hardened, as they skimmed the other mans form. "You could stand to flatten that stomach a little more." he gave a jab in response, a hand reaching out to pat the area in inspection.
There was a slight bristle to his fur at the latter remark, quickly pushing through it, "I like to stand out, especially when my partner is...." another eyeing up and down was made, "lackluster"

RP Response: Though the grin never left his face, his eyes flashed with a spark of anger at the other's tone. Said grin twisted into more of a grimace when the outfit was thrust towards him, and Tobias was taken aback when he was suddenly touched. He batted away the offending limb almost absently, snorting. "At least I can tone up, if need be." He drawled, allowing himself to look Valory over... and let his eyes linger on his hips before he gave a tut.
"Better hope I don't choose to have a bad day, princess. I'm sure that'd do a whole lotta hurt for your reputation." His grin was much less friendly now, and more like the imp was baring his teeth. He'd never stoop so low as to such a thing, but the kumiho obviously didn't know that.

He was especially excited because it was a partner competition. Gad loved making friends and he had met such a lovely fallen that was willing to enter the competition with him. He couldn't be more excited. He looked over to his left finishing lacing his skates up. "Are you as excited as I am?" He looked down at his outfit smiling at all the sparkles and how well they went with his markings. "We look good!" He did a little twirl smiling brightly. "Alright, let's get out there and warm up!" He waddled over to the edge of the rink pushing himself off and turning back to extend his hand to his partner to help her get on the ice if she wanted. Word count: 141

RP Response: Klaus was a bit uneasy with all this fabric or whatever Eira had called it flailing behind him like a leaf floating in the breeze. But that smile on her face was worth all the discomfort in the world to him. That smile made him melt every time he saw it.
He knew she did not know the true depth of his feelings, oh he had told her he adored her but no in so many words but his actions spoke for him. Skating was relaxing to him, a way to spend time with her and get to wrap his arms around her, feel her breath on his face and the beat of her heart. This time to him was priceless, it meant so much to him.
Concentrating on his movements he took his eyes off her which he was loathe to do it was the only way he could function without making a fool out of himself and her. He moved to grab her hands so he could toss her in the air so she could do her move and he held his breath as he always did....

RP Response: Eira grinned; this was one of her favorite moves to do and she was sure Klaus knew it. She squeezed his hands affectionately as he pulled her near and lifted her. He was strong enough to toss her up a couple feet, enough for her to make a full spin before landing in his arms. She beamed at him as he caught her, then hugged him around the neck.
"Let's not give away too much before the competition starts," she giggled before kissing his cheek. "We should definitely warm up, though." She hopped down from those strong arms and took his hands to stretch. "I'm kind of nervous. Do you think we'll do okay?" she asked him, chewing her lower lip absent mindedly.
