Knight Title: Somniorum (Ronan Tierney)

Wonder Description:

Somnorium served as a bastion of inspiration for any creative soul who sought refuge from the mundanities of their everyday lives or who wished to pursue a deeper understanding of the self through artistic and introspective exploration. Though it was founded for the purpose of helping artists renew themselves, it came to welcome all who wished to participate in honest, unrestrained creativity. The primary draw of Somniorum was Oneiria, the rare plant grown within the central Palatium garden. When brewed into a tea, it induced tiredness and granted extremely vivid dreams to whoever drank the tea. Upon awakening the dreamer would usually experience intense creative inspiration, which they could express in any of Somniorum's ateliers. The vividness of the dreams lingered for up to several days after consumption of the tea. When they returned home, the dreamers most often reported a renewed sense of creative vigor and a deeper understanding of their own minds.

Grounds: Somniorum consisted of the Palatium Somnia and an estate consisting of the thirty miles surrounding it within the Lacus Somniorum. This estate included many smaller outbuildings to house guests and serve as ateliers in addition to miles of lakes and gardens. The ateliers resemble smaller versions of the rotunda and include small living quarters for the artists. Surrounding the ateliers were gardens dotted with sculptures imported from all over the galaxy.

Palatium Somnia: [Very Expensive Artistic Floor Plan]

(Before the Fall of the Silver Millennium)
The central structure resembles a very large neoclassical rotunda in gleaming white stone capped with a low white dome. Friezes with the scenes from the history of the Moon Kingdom run along the rotunda's entablature. The southern elevation of the rotunda serves as the building's facade. Stoae lined with Doric columns radiate outward on the right and left of the rotunda and serve as the porches for the east and west wings of the Palatium. The north wing is attached to the northern elevation of the rotunda and has stoae lined with Doric columns, leading to the courtyard garden.

The interior of the rotunda is divided into two circles, the inner circle provides a clear view from the ground floor to the top of the dome, which is adorned with murals depicting scenes from the Silver Millennium's history. The outer circle serves as the Palatium's central library and every wall is lined with thousands of books on the arts from across the galaxy. Throughout the library are tables, chairs, and luxuriously cushioned couches for visitors to read in comfort.

The West Wing contains housing for the Palatium's full-time residents, artists of all kinds who serve as guides and mentors to visitors. The East Wing contains the kitchens and the housing for the Palatium support staff who have full access to Somniorum's facilities in their downtime and are encouraged to produce their own arts.

The Courtyard Garden contains a small pond filled with colorful fish imported from other planets and surrounded by well-manicured imported plants. The courtyard opens onto a larger pond filled with waterfowl and lined with trees imported from other planets.

Immediately south of the rotunda is an amphitheatre in the style of the Theatre of Dionysus used for live performance.

(Current Day)
The rotunda is largely intact, though the friezes are severely damaged and the murals are faded. The west wing has collapsed entirely and the east wing is dangerously unstable due to the collapse of a significant number of its columns. What furniture remains is unusable (given the dry conditions I imagine it would be at least somewhat intact like some pieces found within Egyptian tombs)

The courtyard garden is lifeless, the pond has dried up, as has the larger pond to the north. Many of the columns surrounding the courtyard have collapsed and the remains of the stoae are structurally unsound.

Most of the ateliers have collapsed or are unusable due to structural damage, but a few remain standing and relatively uncompromised. None of the gardens retain any semblance of life, though some of the statues remain intact.

Uniform:

Top -- A vest in the style of a Regency tailcoat (#BEBBE7) over a puffy-sleeved white shirt similar to this one
Bottoms -- Slim-fitted Regency trousers in (#D5E0F3)
Gloves -- Simple white gloves
Belt -- No belt
Shoes -- Flat white shoes similar in style to these
Accessories -- A white cravat with a silver crescent moon stickpin, three strands of pearls in the style of a regency bandeau with one strand across his forehead. He has a silver crescent moon in the center of the strand on his forehead.

Weapon & Magic

Page Weapon: A dingy-white, unlit round lantern on a thick string attached to a wooden stick.

Squire: A glass lantern similar to this one (but magically rather than electrically lit) with silver metal and a crescent moon charm dangling from the bottom. The lantern itself hangs from a light silver chain on a silver hook at the end of a short silver rod.

Somniorum can use his lantern to emit radiant silver moonlight. Targets are filled with hope as the moonlight shimmers over their injuries, healing minor injuries completely and somewhat healing moderate injuries. His magic has no effect on severe injuries. The effects are more pronounced the longer he spends channeling this ability.

Duration: 45 seconds
Range: 10 feet

Knight Weapon: A round lantern similar to this one with silver metal, a crescent moon charm dangling from the bottom, and moon phases etched into the glass. The lantern hangs from a sturdy silver chain attached to a hook at the end of a delicately engraved silver staff.

Somniorum can use his lantern to emit radiant silver moonlight. Targets are filled with hope as the moonlight shimmers over their injuries, healing moderate wounds and temporarily stabilizing severe wounds. The effects are more pronounced the longer he spends channeling this ability.

Duration: 60 seconds
Range: 15 feet
