Backdated to March 30th Following Repurposing a Threat
She might not have had the additional energy coursing through her now, but Carnotite was absolutely still riding a high. She stood proud as she made her way into Negaspace, the familiar halls of the Castle illuminated all the further by her glow.
Reaching out to the storm, repeatedly, to call down energy into herself... yes, there was a danger there. Carnotite wouldn't say otherwise. She was honest about the sensation of feeling so... so close to becoming not her, if she absorbed too much of the electricity at once. Like looking over a cliff, that call of her own personal void would have sent her into the storm itself, becoming another piece of that power.
But she had little interest in becoming part of something else's storm. She'd far prefer to command her own. And yes, she had wistful thoughts of if she was stronger, if perhaps she could do such a thing... would she have been able to take in more energy? Would she have been strong enough to resist that call of the energy running wild in the storms?
They were teasing, mocking thoughts, and Carnotite did what she could to put them aside. Wistful thoughts were one thing. But even she knew to be somewhat cautious in her grab for more power. Otherwise... she'd hardly be herself to enjoy it once she had it, now would she? That would just be a waste.
As she walked deeper into the Castle, she pulled some of the energy orbs out of subspace. They were calmer now than they'd been before, when she'd first called it into her, or when it was first syphoned out. But the amount she was able to pull from the very air around her, the residual of the lightning strikes she'd absorbed... it was a proud moment for her to release the energy into a large crystal. The purple light slipped into the surface, spreading through the facets. Carnotite released one after another, each one filling her with a sense of pride and delight. She'd done that. She'd held that power, realized her limits, and she controlled it enough to allow the energy to be properly utilized and offered to the Negaverse.
Really, Carnotite was almost giddy with how pleased she was with this experiment and how it'd panned out. Yes, it'd been... reckless on her part to first attempt it, and she was grateful General King Jet had been able to help her syphon off the energy...
But look at the rewards the risk had given them. More precious energy they could use to protect the Earth, from the serpent's very own wild threat!
In that moment, the orbs of electricity above her head glowed all the stronger, her emotions surging to light up the area as much as she herself felt light and cheery.

Laurelite was not a common sight in the Castle halls, but neither was she so foreign to this domain that it would have been unusual to see her. While she might have teleported to save time, there was a function in passing through here; she could see what was going on. She could check in on things. Naturally, the status of their energy collection was at the top of her priorities. Carnotite was depositing quite the collection, so she watched for a moment before speaking. “Carnotite,” she greeted sweetly. “So good to see you here. I was hoping to check on you. How did it go?”

The energy signature was the first real hint to attention, but to sense the Queen's aura wasn't unheard of. Especially given the importance of events currently...
But to hear her voice, Carnotite's eyes widened briefly before she turned to confirm that yes, she'd heard correctly. She'd finished depositing the rewards of her experimentation, and the proverbial and literal glow of the achievement still kept her head held high and back straight. Yet that didn't diminish her awareness of the respect the woman before her both earned and deserved. Immediately, she stood at attention, bowing her head lightly in a respectful greeting with a smile. "Majesty, it's a pleasure. I was just about to go write up the report."
Her smile grew, and though she held a great deal of control over the electricity that was naturally her own, the golden orbs above her head glowed a bit brighter as an indicator of her immense joy--even tempered down as the response was. "Transferring energy from the storm's lightning proved a great success. General Kings Faustite and Jet were in attendance, along with General Aquamarine and others of our agents. Some of the Vanguard also showed, as did some of the Dark Mirror Court. All of the latter seemed able to fill their respective means of gathering and holding energy, and those of the Negaverse looked to have been able to gather a great deal of energy orbs." Carnotite slightly nodded back to the crystal she'd just been using herself. "What I collected was residual energy that remained in the air afterwards, but that pales in comparison to what the others were able to collect."
Just because Carnotite could hold the great power of the lightning, didn't mean she was fully able to tap into it to drain directly. Thus the importance of having other agents around to assist in that. Her smile was bright though, not finding the lesser delivery to be a failure on her part in the slightest. She'd aided in others collecting the lion's share, through something she was capable of doing as a half-youma. In her mind, it was a clear highlight to the effectiveness of such a merge, provided one found their suitable applications. There was genuine joy in such a thing to her. The strength gifted to those willing to make such sacrifices for the Negaverse and Metallia.
True, not the reasoning behind why she'd first merged with the youma... but as time went on, she was seeing more of the larger implications bit by bit. It thrilled her to be able to stand alongside other merged agents.
"I don't have any exact numbers yet, but I could see the amount of orbs being collected. It was truly amazing. I also have not suffered any ill side-effects, from what I can tell. My own energy was not affected by the draining," she added with a more humble tone, aware of the general concern about the whole... struck with lightning part.

“Wonderful,” Laurelite praised. She’d heard whispers of success from some in attendance, but it was imperative that she speak to the host of such a gathering. It wasn’t that she mistrusted Carnotite, but Laurelite could not help but observe her with a bit of extra scrutiny. Her body had been under a great deal of strain, and while it had been productive, Laurelite was still keen to know all that she could about the situation. “I’m glad you were all able to get along. Too bad we won’t be able to get a report of all that they were able to harness, I’d have liked to compare their numbers to ours. But I suppose it doesn’t matter all that much, not if it’s going to the same place. Will you think poorly of me if I say I’ve come to appreciate these storms? I might even miss them when this is all over.” She seemed like it was amusing, like it might have been meant to be some little secret between the two of them. “I suppose we’ll find something new, though. Something better. I have such high hopes for the future.”
