itspao_ The Gargoyles (1) : Even when you thought you’d seen the last of them, it seems like you’re never really in the clear. A while back, there was an infestation of awful gargoyle creatures–and while every Star Festival had its fair share of oddities, this one seems to have introduced a permanent infestation upon the city. Maybe you see them perched on the roof, or hiding in the shadows, but not all of these grotesque creatures are satisfied with just escaping their interdimensional prison–some of them still have a bone to pick. They seem stony; some of them will watch with a penetrative gaze and never strike to attack, but some of them will dive down to target anyone who gets too close. The monsters come in an array of sizes and shapes, but they are no more than half the size of their target. Their goal is uncertain, but they will crumble into a pile of rocks and dust if struck hard enough. This RP can be used as a battle requirement as long as there are at least two powered characters involved; you must be interacting with another player’s powered character and cannot solo this with two of your own characters. This does not count as the ‘one youma battle’ per stage for growth. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt.
Like something she'd seen perhaps on some more historical buildings outside of where she was at. She thought they looked like gargoyles. She paused watching thinking she'd saw one move. She missed the fact that there was an energy signature coming up towards her. "Interesting...." She muttered, "I... almost want to climb up there." She mused out loud.

"Doesn't seem like a great idea," Waipoua offered as she came upon the senshi, lips set into a lopsided little frown. She was leaning uncharacteristically onto her cane. It looked solid enough but was in fact a rather fragile piece of aged wood, decent for use as an actual cane but little else. She hated using it for that purpose despite knowing that it could hold her weight perfectly fine.
The Page had a nasty gash on her left leg, and she was clearly trying to keep off of it.
The sound of grinding stone put her on edge, and she eyed the gargoyles overhead with a frown. "One of these things just divebombed me a couple blocks back that way. Not sure these ones move, but I don't trust them..."

Cardinal paused when she heard someone say it wasn't a great idea. She turned around and saw Waipoua who was already injured. There was a bit of a panic looked, "Ohhhh that's not good. I have a first aid kit would you like me to clean and patch that?"
She turned her attention to the page who was leaning on the cane. But she looked around occasionally when she heard the grinding of stone and cringed a bit looking to see if there was a source of the noise.
She didn't notice anything different, none of the statutes looked like they had moved any. "Yeah I should be able to patch you up really fast if you want so that it's not quite as exposed."
The senshi still wanted to investigate even more so now but there were more important things, like making sure Waipoua was good first.

She managed a small but still grateful smile at the offer, but shook her head. The sound of grinding stone put her on edge, and it showed in the way her shoulders tensed and she shifted her gaze to look upon the statues. There was no way for her to know if these moved because she hadn't gotten a good look at how they were positioned before the sound, so she took a slow breath to try and calm herself down.
"Thanks, but I'm good," she said, eyes still on the gargoyles and memorizing how they were positioned now. "I can patch up when I get home. Then a bath and maybe a good glass of wine to try and forget about it." What the hell? She was off tomorrow, anyway.
The sound of grinding stone caught her attention again, and she turned her attention back to the statues. They looked the same, so she glanced around some more. "Did you hear that?" she asked, wondering if maybe the attack just a little while ago might have done more damage to her than just to her leg.

Cardinal frowned heavily as she heard the thanks I'm good from the page. "I... really think it should be patched up."
There was another moment when she heard the noise again and she nodded, "Yeahhhh unfortunately I think it's the gargoyles." She responded softly.
"I think we need to get you out of here in case they are the source of the noise and they attack. I've seen a couple of reports that they like to attack people."

"I won't lose my leg so I'm not too worried," she insisted, though the idea of getting out of there sooner rather than later was pretty attractive considering her injury. If push came to shove she knew she'd be able to make a run for it, even if it meant looking less than dignified as she hobbled along to keep as much weight as was reasonable off of her bad leg, but if they could get away before that could actually happen...
She heard the noise again and she frowned. "Yeah, running sounds like a g–"
It got louder then, and when Waipoua looked, the gargoyle they'd just been looking at lifted off of its pedestal and launched itself at the two of them.

Cardinal made a noise when the gargoyle, moved. "Ughhhh no time."
She tried to move away from Waipoua and did her best to make the gargoyle watch her. She had an idea but wasn't sure how well it'd work, "I'm going to try and pull it away from you!"
The senshi took a quick glance around after moving away from the page, before summoning her attack to try and get themselves a bit of an advantage against the stone creature. "Uktena's shine~!"
She really hoped she could get the page out of there without being hurt further.itspao_ Uktena's Shine When Cardinal calls this attack an illusion of the Uktena appears behind where Cardinal is standing. The gem on her tiara then gives off a dazzling light that temporarily leaves her opponents seeing spots if they look directly at her. This attack lasts for 30 seconds and can be used 3 times. This attack effects those opponents that are 10 foot (cone radius) in front of Cardinal. Usually, the spots seen from the light after the attacks ends are also gone, but could last longer and be distracting if a player so wishes.

Waipoua grit her teeth as she put more weight on her leg to try and get away from the now very alive and attacking gargoyle. Thankfully it seemed to turn its focus to the senshi, and while it hurt her pride to run from a fight, in her current state she'd be more of a liability than any help.
She didn't have to run far, though. The light that dazzled out from the senshi apparently blinded the creature enough, and rather than launch itself and land on the senshi like it probably originally planned, it missed by a good foot or so, landing with a resounding crack and crumbling where it now rested in a small crater, unmoving on the ground.
Sounds of more grinding reached Waipoua's ears, though, and she frowned.
"I think its friends noticed," she said, hobbling over to the senshi and reaching to take her by the shoulder. "We should probably go before the next ones comes at us."

Cardinal wrapped her arm around Waipoua and nodded, "Good job though lets totally get out of here! If you're cool with it I'll help you home or at least close enough."
There was a grin even though she heard the Gargoyles moving. Surely they could escape them quickly, if she needed to though she could use her attack again to blind them as they escaped.
