Quote: The Leaves (4) : With the changing seasons, there are piles of leaves all around Destiny City. It’s a difficult job to try and keep up with them all, and sometimes the allure of these leaf piles is impossible to ignore. Who doesn’t want to relive the childish joys of their youth? And no one’s around to see, right? So why not jump into a pile of leaves? Oh–because, when you do, you jump through one pile and come out of another somewhere else across the city. The leaves all seem ordinary, but there’s a few odd seconds between when you jump into the leaves and when you jump out; it feels like falling, tumbling, somersaulting through the air. It’s not scary, just odd. You see walls of leaves–brown and orange and yellow and red–and they crunch magnificently. Overall, it doesn’t seem menacing, just a bit of trickster fun. If you try to jump in a pile of leaves again, you might wind up somewhere else entirely–or right back where you started. With classes winding down and nothing else going on for the moment, it made tonight a night to walk about and explore this city. After making sure, for the fifth time since that last weird glitch, that her gps was behaving, Chillingham shot off a text to her number one best alibi and foodie friend. Quote: "Want to pop about and see what's going on! I finished my homework, and the leaves look perfect for jumping in!" With that sent, she then remembered to add hurry up and add the address of the park she was going towards, which she had seen surrounded in trees that were primed and ready to drop all their leaves with the weather changing. It wasn't too far as she hurried that way, but she was wondering if it might be a good idea to get a scooter or something instead of walking or taking the bus. She'd have to bug Freddy about it, then mum too. Maybe after the semester ended, she could show off her "good" grades and convince them it was for getting to extracurriculars. The idea of it and how much faster she could pop to and from concerts, even the diner, or any drive-in movie, filled her head and the time as the minutes and blocks passed her by. With any luck, she would be right about the leaves.

She'd see the two giant, candy corn-shaped cotton candy before seeing the equally fluffy Monch holding them. All three fluffy were bouncing a little to the music pumping out of a little pink, pumpkin shaped, speaker clipped to the popcorn senshi's sash. As Chillingham approached, the Ghostbusters theme began to fade off and the cronch cronch cronch of the squire's steps suddenly filled the air. The leaves were just perfect! "Heyah!" Another bounce of fluff and Monch handed over a cotton candy stick. "My parents know you're at out house tonight, but we're like, super busy and can't come to the phone." She winked at Chillingham. Her parents were mostly pro-sneaking out. They thought it was important she had time and space to do Youthful Antics but also wanted to be, like, in the know when she was doing said antics. It led to a lot of kinda communication, that consisted of a lot of winks and knowing looks being traded across the kitchen table. The next song came on, and she began to move, "Okay, you know we gotta do this first!" It was vitally important that when The Cha-Cha Slide came on, one does The Cha-Cha Slide. "Clap clap clap clap your hands!"

"Oi! Hii!" It took a second to see Monch behind the clouds of sugary goodness, but already she was happy to have her friend out tonight. It was going to be awesome. With a wide smile at the offered cotton candy and at the perfect alibi for Freddy, she then took a chomp out of the cloud. It was tooth-rottingly sweet, not that she minded, but she could hear her brother telling her it was too late to eat stuff like that. "Oh?!" Following Monch along, she watched and mimicked things. Clapping was a little hard while holding the cotton candy, but it was fun, and she was excited to learn more of the cha-cha slide. The leaves that were scattered all over the ground made some of the sliding steps a bit slidy-er, but in her opinion, that was making it more fun.

Watching Chilly manage her treat while figuring out the dance had Monch giggling into her own cotton candy. "Now take it back!" She called out, waggling her hip as she moved back, in juuuust the right position for-! "One hop this time!" And they hopped over and right into a big pile of leaves! Except it wasn't so much a big pile of nice crunchy leaves as...falling through, and through, and through! Leaves were swirling all around them and then they weren't in a park at all, but in somebody's front yard. The pile of leaves tickled at Monch's ankles and she stared wide-eyed at Chillingham, the speaker at her waist tell them to Cha-Cha real smooth.

"One hop this time!" Calling out as she laughed alongside her friend. This was loads more fun than staying home with Freddy and working on homework. She'd been laughing when the leaves swirled around and everything felt like it was tumbling. But then she blinked and looked back at Monch before swirling around on the spot to see that they were someone completely different. "Whoah... was... was that weird, spooky magic?" Looking down at the leaves that were sticking out of her shoes before pulling one out of her hair, everything looked normal enough. "Are you okay?" Stepping through the leaves carefully, everything looked fine, so maybe this wasn't bad magic? There was still a bit of a smile left on her face as her thoughts leaned towards the more optimistic route.

Monch's Cha-Cha was real uncertain more than anything, but when it seemed that Chilly vibing and thriving with whatever that magic was? Her bounce was back and double that! "I AM! SO GOOD! MAGIC IS THE BEST!" Ripping off a piece of cotton candy with a toothy smile, she horked down the mouthful of sugar, still keeping to the moves the song called out. "Are you ready?" She called out over the music as they moved back and toward another pile of leaves. Would it happen again?

"Yesss! Let's go!" Following suit and nomming another chunk of sweet, glorious sugar cloud, Chilly was more than ready to see where they'd pop out next. Hurrying along, she nodded and leapt into the pile, remembering this time to close her eyes just in case the leaves smacked her in the face this time. More and more tumbling, making her feel like she was rolling down the hill back home in Leeds. "Amazing!"
Popping up with what was left of her cotton candy, she looked around for Monch as she realized this time they were by the college, honestly not far from where she usually played guitar outside some nights. "WOW! So far! This is amazing!" And one hundred percent, the kind of awesome fun magic she wanted to deal with instead of all the gross skeleton magic that she had. Clapping her hands again as the music continued, she figured she was getting the hang of things.

Now this was familiar! And that feeling of falling and tumbling was kind of addictive! And Chillydown proved to be the Chilliest and Downest of all, keeping up with both the magic and the beat! "Yeah! You've got it!" As the moves repeated the two ended up creating their own walls of leaves with their kicks, stomps, and slides. They really helped make! A really huge mess! Sorry to all the groundskeepers out there! The next hop didn't take them anywhere, but before they could get disappointed, another hop brought them into a graveyard! "How low can you go?" She couldn't help giggling at Chillingham, a little nervous but also kind of thrilled by the suddenly spooky surroundings.

Again and again, they popped out all over the city, each time with the vaguest idea of how far they actually were from the starting point of the evening. And she was really about seeing how many new places they could see as she finished off her cotton candy within the last two jumps. The sugar was fueling the excitement, but when they popped out, somewhere not fun, she looked over at Monch while still laughing along. While the idea of being in a spooky place like this might have been fine before, she didn't exactly like it at all now that she'd been stuck cleaning up all the bones and labware on her wonder. Looking for another pile to jump in, before things set in too much, she hopped forward and waited to see where they'd go next. But this time, the leaves just scattered upwards before floating back down. "Aw..... cripes."Looking back at Monch, she still smiled and jived along with the music as it started to fade into a song that felt fitting too. They did the mash~ It was a graveyard smash~
