Quote: 9] The Long Way Home (5) : You're walking home in the dark and soon hear the sound of footsteps following behind you. Every time you turn around, nothing is there. If you try to quicken your pace, the footsteps start running right along with you. No matter how you try to see behind you--if you use your phone camera or if you look in window reflections, you can't see anything...but you know it's getting closer. If you don't run fast enough, you can almost feel a hand on your arm, a breath on your neck... You need to get home, fast. If you can. Follows immediately after an unwilling roll of the dice Once the pavement was back under him, Leitner crumpled to the ground next to Hedwig as he looked at his arms and hands over. While the other seemed to have no marks left, Leitner started to shake slightly as he did, in fact, have light burns almost as if he’d been sprayed with acid. They itched and burned, something he knew he should scratch at even though the fabric that had been covering his arms had been eaten through by something as well. It was crazy that something like this could just pop up and happen, and Hedwig said things were just like this. “It can’t cause damage? Then… what’s this?” Shoving his arms forward to show the other before looking down at the holes eaten through his boot. Even though Hedwig had mentioned going home, his focus was on the damage more than anything else. The fact that this was real and present instead of just an illusion or something like they had said. At least that was the case until the sound of a branch snapping rang out in the otherwise quiet night. Jerking his head towards the sound, he froze slightly. “There's… someone there.” Even as he squinted to try and see who or what was there, it didn't seem like anything had actually moved even though he had definetely heard something.

Staring for a moment he showed his own, they had their own marks that were similar. “So it did something, but not like what we thought. Nothing that’ll last.” It would go away, it had to, he just hoped it would do so sooner rather than later. He didn’t want to explain things at school, though he also didn’t think it would stand out as odd in this city. The fact these sorts of things were viewed as normal, though what normal meant he didn’t know really, spoke volumes about this city and it’s people.
Jerking, nearly jumping, as he heard the snapping of a branch the dark haired male turned this way and that to see who was there. No one, he saw no one, and he couldn’t sense anyone either. “We should get moving…” Speaking slowly, while standing he reached out towards the other. “I doubt it’s anything we want to mess with.” Considering what had already happened this night.
“Let’s go….my place is closer.” He said in a rush, not caring right now, they clearly needed to get somewhere safe.

Rolling his eyes, he got up slowly after he got a bit more of a sense of himself again. The main thing was to avoid looking down at his arms, which, honestly, was hard enough. While staggering slightly as he got to his feet, he heard another snap and whipped around to look, seeing nothing again, even though the sound was closer. Even after blinking a few times and trying to focus on any possible sign of something moving, he still couldn't tell.
“Okay, yeah… your place.” And then he pushed them slightly to get them moving because something else was beginning to rustle. “I am not about to get caught by whatever that is after that hell scape of a <********> sorry board we went through.” With more insistence, he started moving regardless, even if he kept looking back with no luck in finding out what was going on.
“It would have been so nice if they hadn’t caught my ID, I could be out at a club or at home working on something.” Talking to himself more than the other, he felt like this was a good time as any to b***h about what was going on. He’d deal with the rest later when they weren’t both being followed. At least that had been the plan until he got another look at where more of whatever had happened had gotten his uniform. There were little holes all over, just like how he felt things crawling, and the idea of being near anyone overnight soured.

Rolling his eyes at the others language he didn’t complain though, because he did agree, they needed to get moving and that he did. Grasping the other's arm and pulling them with him. While they walked, quickly, Hedwig was busy trying to think of any mirrors which might be near by. Was there a store nearby? They could get in perhaps and get to a mirror? He wasn’t opposed to breaking a window, not right now, let the cops deal with things and the alarm company - they’d be long gone by then. The city was good at ignoring, and forgetting, all the magical s**t which took place in the city. The only thing which kept him from acting out, from breaking and entering a store, was that somehow he knew Chalcanthite would find out and he wasn’t looking to cross Aloysius - not tonight or at all really.
Shaking his head he continued, picking up the pace, home wasn’t that far off and damn it if he wasn’t going to fall over onto a couch as soon as they got inside. Only a few blocks and they’d both be safe, and he supposed it meant he’d have a guest over for the night, he wasn’t planning it but that didn’t mean he didn’t have prepared guest rooms - of course he did. He always had guest rooms ready just incase, he wasn't about to be a bad host. At some point he powered down while running, assuming the other would get the idea and do the same damn thing. With his lungs burning, he was no runner, Blaise turned the corner onto his block and ran for driveway and letting the otehrs hand go he sprinted the last bit to his front door. Hitting the door with his hands as if to slow or stop himself, taking a moment to just breath and pant for air, it took several moments before his hands moved and went to the pockets of his coat as he fumbled about for his house keys.
Keys found the door and it was unlocked and he pushed the door open as he stepped inside, holding the door for the other. "Water." He needed water and he assumed the other could do with something to drink as well. Without a glance back to the other Blaise headed inside, toeing off his shoes as he went, making his way to the kitchen to get himself a glass and filling it with water and ice. He waited to hear the others voice, to know if they wanted water. Tonight was not a night he'd like to repeat - ever.

Leitner saw as they ran off, letting him go, and for a moment, he looked at them as they held the door open. Pulling his arms around himself, he shook his head and turned away to run back towards the mirror. If they could do it, couldn't he?
Slamming through the mirror's surface, he tumbled and tried to end up somewhere else. At least anywhere that someone wasn't going to look at him.
