Time was moving slowly, too slowly in his opinion, but it could always be worse. He could be back home with little to do and no people around, no way to socalize, things had never been great on his home planet but it had been worse when everyone was gone…it had been so desolate and empty - lonely. Finding himself on this planet, with so many people, he’d started working on learning as much as he could but he knew there was so much more to learn. The language was an issue, still, but he was getting better. Books on phonics and the like had helped greatly, so had people watching, the television had assisted him as well since he could listen to people and repeat what they said. He could rewind things over and over again as he worked to get his pronunciation of words right, it took time especially with certain words and sounds, but it had all been paying off.

Tonight he’d asked to go out with Pippa, who was going to be powering up, and dropping his glamor as soon as he’d powered up the deep space senshi was happy to follow a step or two behind her. Listening to her while keeping his eyes on everything going on around them, always alert. This planet was so interesting…and sooo cold. He knew warmer seasons would come, he’d learned that, but his uniform didn’t help much right now…

Shivering, something he tried to hide as best he could, his ears dropped and his tail hung down behind him. He didn’t like the cold and there was something off about this city at night, and he liked being out at night, this city just seemed wrong. He wasn’t sure how but he knew what he felt.

“Don’t like it here…it’s too silent.” A single ear twitched, as if to agree with the statement.

Chillingham went on about classes, bringing up the music she was working on to play on guitar later, if there was time before it got too late. The only downside of being in a condo was that there were quiet hours, and sometimes that meant no working on songwriting when she was hit with an idea.

Turning back as she thought she heard what sounded like teeth chattering, she went to offer Athebyne her coat. "Oh, this might help. You look cold, mate."

Though when she looked down between them, she noticed something sparkling slightly on the ground. "Oi, wassit?" Reaching down to pick one of the things up, she held the die up to the light from the streetlamp.

As she looked through it, the world shifted and everything changed. Blinking in surprise, her coat was gone, probably having fallen from when she'd offered it to her friend.

"Uh oh... Freddy's not gonna like this."

Thw chattering had indeed been him, and his teeth, he was cold and the uniform did not help him one bit really. It was suited for his home planet, without a doubt, but not entierly for this planet. His home had wet and dry seasons but it was always some sort of warm to hot, unless you counted night time, it was cold at night but since people worked at night they built up a sweat and the cold didn't hit nearly as hard as it did here.

Moving to turn down the offer of a coat, assuming she needed it more, he would be just fine without it. He wasn't used to reciving help muich less from a female, he shouldn't be taking anything from her, he didn't get time to do more than move to push the garment back towards her. She had found something onthe ground and was picking it up to inspect, watching as she held it up to the light, he was shocked when she just vanished. Gasping softly, his widening, he looked around and spotted whatever it was on the ground, not knowing it wasn't the same item but rather his own die. He reached for it and found himself, and her coat, beind brought to where she was.

Landing with a jostling, his knees knocking together, he was on alert and looking around. "Where?" Looking around he saw so little...and yet it seemed like they were in a vast space...there just wasn't much here. It looked like a path for them to walk, a spot lit up at the end, but when he went to walk forward towards the light he was stopped - suddenly and roughly. He hit into some invisible force. "Can't leave?"

Looking around, she was glad to see Athebyne appearing as well. "Aw cripes! Are you okay? I've no idea where we've gone." Confusion seemed to pour out of the other as she spoke and she looked at the die again as it slipped from her hand and tumbled to the ground.

A force started to shove her back and away from Athebyne and she yelped slightly as more and more distance was put between them. "Ah! Roll it roll it! I think this is a game?!"

But no sooner had she said that and the force had stopped, she couldn't really see the other anymore with all the fog that was rolling in. The only way she even knew she had her die still was the face she felt it under her foot.

"Be careful!"

Space 3:
A strange fog rolls in once you land here. You lose sight of nearly everything, including the game board. If you want to roll, you’re going to have to get close to the ground to even see where you’re supposed to go next. Hopefully nothing sneaks up behind you.

Space 5:
A dog barks, fierce and frightening. You can hear its growl and the hackles stand up on the back of your neck. You can practically feel spittle on you. It’s close. And it’s big. And it’s angry. If this beastly dog could reach you, no doubt it would try to tear you to shreds.

Staring for a moment he blinked as he finally caught up to what she was saying and nodded his head slowly, almost dumbly, before watching what happened with the object in her hand, when it hit the ground, and she was being pushed. "A game...?" Tilting his head, curious, he stared at the object in his own hand and let it fall to the ground.

The die hit the ground with a click and rolled, tumbling side over side, and finally stopped with five black spots staring up at him. An ear twitch, a tilt of his head, and he scooped up the item and made his way down the path. There had been five dots so he went five spaces, he tried to be as calm as he could and not let this all bother him, he was nervous though and he was certain it showed in his body language. He wasn't so good at hiding that, not really, there was little way to contro lones ears or tail.

Standing there for several moments something finally happened, causing him to jump in surprise, it was a barking and a growling and while the barking didn't do much more than surprise him the brunette found himself growling in responce to the other growling. Had it been back home, had it been a female, he would never show such a sign of agression or make sure a noise, but this was something that was not female as far as he could tell. It was a threat and he would let it know where thigns stood as best he could....even though he was nervous still, scared even, he was trying his best here and that counted for something.

"Something is here..." He called out over his shoulder, not wanting to turn and see if there was something behind him...something real and solid. He just hoped she could hear him. The die in his hand was dropped once more, he didn't figure you needed to do something as fancy as rolling it along the ground.

"Too loud...agressive."

Hearing Athe, Chillingham perked up. "You're okay! It's just a spot of fun, maybe not all that fun, but if we roll the die and get lots of those little black spots to show up on it, we can hurry through and back home!"

With that said, she squatted down and tried to shoo away some of the fog as she rolled the die. It wasn't as high as she wanted it to go, but now that she knew she needed to move, she managed to bolt before that rude whatever shoved her.

As soon as she stepped into the square that she had mathed out to be the right one, she cringed at the high-pitched noise and covered her ears. Oh, that was bad, not great at all, whatever was making this sound.

Space 7:
Something is twitching and flapping above you, and while you might be minding your own business, something is a little too invested in what you’re doing. You can’t see them, but you suddenly hear shrill, high pierced noises that are disorienting and confusing. They can bring about dizziness and pain and can cause vertigo if you’re stuck in them for too long.

Space 10:
A swampy smell fills the air. You take a step, and you seem to sink into it. Mud creeps over your feet, and you sink rapidly. Ankle deep, knee deep. Whether or not you squirm and fight against it, you are sinking. The mud is crushing and painful, and if you sink too deep it steals the breath from your lungs. There’s nothing to grab onto; you have to roll your dice quickly before that too gets sucked into the muddy quicksand.

Nodding his head as she spoke he watched her move past him, though she as only a few paces ahead of him for a few moments, soon he was moving and passing her in her square. The die was in hand, since it appeared he'd need the items for this game. "I don't like this game." Growling softly as he spoke, a hint of a fang peeking out, he stuck his free hand into a pocket on his shorts to give his hand something to do and to hife the slight shake to it. He was nervous, scared even, and was doing his best to hide it. That growling thing...he could handle it, sort of, but he didn't like this place one bit and it set every hair on his body standing on end.

The ground he stepped onto felt soft, he didn't like that feeling, and the smell in the air was enough to churn his stomach. A whine passed his lips. "Smells bad." He said looking back to the other, hoping she didn't get this space at some point - it was bad. He was, for once, glad his sense of smell was dulled. If he had been able to smell this, with his full sense of smell, he was sure he'd be sick. "Very bad." He added as he took another step hoping to find some more solid ground, he found nothing aside from the ground giving and pulling his foot into it.

"Ohhh..." This wasn't good. Throwing the die, hoping it landed somewhere safe, he had to wade his way towards it as the ground started to eat him up...ankles and calves sinking into the muddy ground. How this square was mud, quicksand, he didn't understand. It was a contained enviornment somehow and that didn't make sense in his mind..but it was right here and true.

"Ground is bad." Reaching for the die he eyed the spots on it and nodded once while he tried to fight his way forward. It was nearly to his thighs now. He'd need a bath after this surely, he'd be so very dirty from this.

Ground is bad? What did that mean? Aside from the noise, the ground felt solid beneath her feet.

"I don't like it either; something's weird here..." Mumbling that last part as she rolled her die again. Stamping her foot as it rolled low, she was catching up but not close enough to see what was going on.

"Let's keep on going, okay?"

That push felt more like a gentle caress, and as she turned to look, she felt her nose fill with the smell of the ocean. It was beyond her how something like this could happe,n and as she tried to step forward, a song floated up as she gasped for breath.

When had she fallen into water? Her hand reached out for the die but she couldn't say anything to warn her friend as she felt more and more hands on her. This wasn't fun, this wasn't even just creepy, and she felt tears starting to roll down her face as she felt scared for the first time since the creature in the sky had come and attacked everyone.

Space 9:
The smell of saltwater fills the air, and you can hear the water lapping against the shore. You hear boards creaking, and bells in the distance. And then, a song. Haunting. Ghostly, and calling you. For a second, you fall in love. And then, water fills your lungs. You’re choking, you can’t breathe. The song is loud and seems to caress you, even as a wet chill gathers in your square. Scaly hands reach for you, you gently caressing, and try to lure you into an endless sleep.

Space 15:
Bats. Maybe you missed them attacking earlier, but they’re back again, and angrier than ever. Instead of just screeching or scratching, they’re swooping down and biting now–and the effects are instantaneous. The little teeth are sharp and painful, but once bitten you might feel agitated and prone to violence, and you might feel perpetually cold and hungry with no relief in sight. The effects might last when you leave the square–or they might linger for a few hours or days after you get out of here.

As much as he didn't want to keep going, as much as this was bothering him and he could feel his heart hammering in his chest, there was no other option it seemed. They'd need to go across as the game wanted, and deal with the spaces they landed on, al lthe way til lthe end. He was lucky so far, at least he thought so, but when he turned to look back towards the other osmething seemed...wrong?

"What's wrong?" Calling out to her, moving to head back into the quicksand despite his better judgement, it was the wall pushing him which kept him from reentering the quicksand and sinking back into it. It pushed him and kept him moving even as he kept looking back towards the other, worry etched acros shis features, she was strong though and would be fine - right?

While he expected a lot of things, thigns he couldn't even actually think up, he wasn't expecting thigns to come out of the air and start attacking him but it is what happened. As he landed on the new square things he didn't know th ename of came at him from above, wings and screeching and biting, they were relentless and the die fell to the floor as he started waving his arms about. As fangs pierced his skin and he jerked, and yelped, he growled and bared his bangs soon enough. From bearing his fangs and growling to grabbing a bat and squeezing its head till it stopped moving in his hand. He wasn't prone to violence, it wasn't in his kind to be violence, but here he was as he grabbed for bats and made sure they wouldn't be able to bite him again. They flapped and flailed and tried to escape but he even sunk his dulled fangs into one of them. He might be the weaker gender, might be the servant, but he was still what he was...and on earth that made him part hyena.

Shivering, from cold or something else, he couldn't tell as he was rather busy. He didn't even go to check on the die right away...the wall was just going to have to handle pushing him and moving him forward.

When the dice had left her hand, she couldn't tell anyone, but it felt amazing to be able to breathe again, and she sputtered and coughed before that unforgiving force pushed her forward.

Hearing something like a fight breaking out, she couldn't see what was going on, but she knew that there wasn't really a way to get to each other. Even if she hit the invisible barrier with her lantern, it just sparked and bounced off without any marks being left or progress being made.

With another step, to try again on a different spot, she felt the floor dip beneath her feet. Swinging her arms in circles to keep her balance, she looked down and saw the spider web. "Eek! Spider! Grosssssss."

How was she supposed to roll on this? She'd have to figure it out and hope it didn't stick to the web like her boots were.

The ground is sticky. You land on this and immediately dip, as though you’ve stepped on a trampoline. Close inspection reveals that you are standing on an intricately woven web–and your shoes are stuck. And something is skittering just on the horizon.

Space 20:
The end; once you have arrived here you are free to leave. You will see be basked in the glow of a beautiful, opalescent aura that will take you back home. If you arrived with a guest, you can leave without them or choose to stay until they make it to the end as well. When you arrive back in Destiny City, you may choose to keep the six sided die–if nothing else, it’s pretty! Though, it doesn’t seem to have any magical qualities, that might be for the best.

One last body of a bat, limp and bloody ,was dropped onto the ground as he was pushed off the space and to the next...and than the next. He was pushed all the way till the end, all the while growling and glancing back at the bats as if he could still see them. He couldn't see them now but he knew they were there, bodies bloodied and limp, many were still alive as well and perhaps still flapping about. He wished more were dead.

Finally stopping on the last spot, the one which had been his goal since the beginning of this, he let out a bit of laughter as he found himself on the lit up spot. It had taken a bit to get here but here he was...after this deranged sort of game, this was some twisted kind of game, and he couldn't help shivering as he laughed a bit more. Watching for Pippa who was headed his way - and stopping. She was on another spot, not to him yet, but soon she'd join him and this would be all over.
