With all the holiday madness going on New found that after dinner, he and Clue were going out nearly every night. There was one thing or another that they were looking into, something that they were exploring, and it was giving them something to talk about and do each night. It made it seem like they had active lives, rather than just working and adulting when they weren't working. It was good to seem like they had a life, though to be fair they had been improving on things since getting out of college and getting good paying jobs. It had taken time, as many things did, but it was well worth it now.
Tonight though they were out exploring, to see if anything just happened to them, he'd gone to get his eyes checked and the walk home was meandering as they waited to see if anythign would happen. "I'm just glad my sight hasn't gotten worse." As he'd worried, he always did, his eye sight was not the best and hadn't been in years. While he didn't need new glasses, his currant glasses were still good, he'd decided on new frames and asked his partners opinion. He'd honestly gotten a bit tired of the frames he'd been wearing for years now, he just didn't know what he wanted to replace them with, so he'd asked Clue for his opinion on the matter - it was why he'd brought them to start with. No matter how his eyes were he was planning on new frames.
"You think we should duck down an alleyay and power up, just to be safe?" He questioned suddenly, almost randomly, as he stood walking and turne dhis attention onto his partner. "Just to be safe..."

Clue was liking the new, more "active" life that they were starting to have, even if it would be interrupted by winter when they both would most likely want to stay home once the weather finally decided to stop playing "hot or cold" and settled on the latter. Even if they hadn't gotten far on anything, they were still learning about each other and the city and well, life. He'd gone with New to his eye appointment and was glad that he hadn't needed a new prescription, but he had no idea about frames for his partner. He guessed it would depend on the style, if one wanted larger or smaller-sized lenses, what shape he wanted, etc. Clue had only been able to suggest a neutral color just so that it would go with everything. And keeping the current pair as a spare in case anything happened to the new ones. His attention was suddenly grabbed by his partner as New seemed to think they should power up and go down a particular alleyway. Perhaps he had seen something. "Sure." Bell said responding with a shrug. Whatever was fine with him tonight. And if they did run into something magical, at least they would be better prepared for it.

Once they were tucked down the alleyway, hidden from anyone walking by, he powered up and as soon as Bell stood at his side he reached over hs drew the other into a hug. "Just to be safe, I don't trust this season." He didn't trust the later half of the year. Sure thigns happened in the summer, the star festrival, but most of that was harmless and not like fall and winter.
Speaking of fall...it was finally starting to feel like fall, mother nature had finally decided on things and stopped bouncing about on tempatures. It was nice, really it was, even if it was colder now at least the tempature wasn't bouncing. He'd walked out the other day dressed for the cooler tempatures and by noon he was over heating. At least now it all made sense and he wasn't having such issues. Stepping away from his partner, pressing his lips to the others cheek as he passed.
"We should get the thrown blankets out so we can wash them, along with the comforter. I think we'll be needing them soon." It was always nice to cuddle up, under some warm bedding, with the other and fall asleep watching a movie or something on tv. While he stepped out of the alleyway he felt somethign roll under his foot and nearly tripped him as it rolled under the heel of his boot. Pulling his foot back and reaching down for the offending object he found a... "Die..." He whispered, curious, as he rolled it about in his hand to inspect. Feeling a pull, a drop in his stomach, Itokawa found himself no longer in Destiny City.
Looking around he saw nothing aside from tiles stretching out ahead of him...and one a distance away was lit up. "Ok...." This was new. And when he went to walk forward he found he couldn't. Alright then...

Ah, that was what New meant. Clue let out a mental sigh of relief, knowing that his partner hadn't actually seen something they needed to be worried about. He followed New in powering up and blushing at the kiss. He was about to say he agreed with the other and thought he heard something else, until he looked to where New should have been but wasn't?! What the hell? "New?!" He yelled out a bit, he could no longer feel his partner's aura either. It was as though he had disappeared into a mirror, but he knew New wouldn't do it so suddenly. He followed where New should have been but saw no one, not even an Order Senshi. He started to panic a little until he saw something glow, as though it was made out of glow-in-the-dark material, and went to look at it. It was a die... And suddenly he felt himself being pulled somewhere else. Was this where New had been pulled? He felt like he was on solid ground again and when he looked around he saw... nothing. Or at least not Itokawa. But he did see tiles. "Sh*t." He said he was going to try to stop cursing as much as he did to New, but that had been broken as of right now. He let out another curse when he tried to walk over to another tile and felt himself walk straight into an invisible wall. "What is it this time..." He muttered to himself angrily. He did NOT want to be stuck here, not like that foggy village...

Quote: Space 2: Something pale and ghostly slams into your back; you don’t see it, but it feels like it’s trying to push you forward–or to the side, or off the path. Thankfully, the magical glass walls stop you from going too far, but this is jarring–and might hurt. Well, at least he wasn't alone as it seemed Bell had picked up the same object he had. He'd spotted the other, they seemed to have not noticed him, it was with a shake of his head that he approached the other. "I think this is some game board, considering it was a die that brought us here. Which means we roll our die and we walk along the path." Since a barrier of some sort wouldn't let them just walk themselves to the end. This was goign to be the worst sort of game - he knew it.
"The cities magic now wants to play a litteral game with us dear." Another shake of his head while he held up the die in his hand.
"No way out but to play till we get to the end and get ourselves out." That said he threw the die to the ground, and watched it roll end over end till it stopped. Bending to pick it up and see what it had landed on.
"Let's try and make this quick." Smiling over his shoulder to his partner. Walking the two steps, slowly, he stopped and waited to see if anything would happen . Given that this was a magical game he was certain something would happen, it wouldn't make sense if nothing happened at all, so he wasn't surprised when he got hit hard inthe back and went staggering forward - right into the invisible barrier. "Oof!" His hands pushed him off the barrier and he stood there silently. Ok...not too bad, not yet anyway.
"Be careful Bell, I don't trust this game at all."

Quote: SSpace 5: A dog barks, fierce and frightening. You can hear its growl and the hackles stand up on the back of your neck. You can practically feel spittle on you. It’s close. And it’s big. And it’s angry. If this beastly dog could reach you, no doubt it would try to tear you to shreds. Bell was still massaging the part of his face that had gotten hurt when he realized that Itokawa was here and talking to him. Well at least he could stop worrying about one thing and concentrate his fully worrying on something else. "Ugh, I was hoping we could actually avoid this magical stuff tonight. Going out in this city at this time is so cursed..." Still better than the fog village. At least they seemed to have a way out versus... waiting for some strange creature to get to them. He followed his partner and could see Itokawa suddenly lurch forward! And also bang on the invisible wall. Well, at least he wasn't the only one getting hurt tonight. Not that he wanted Itokawa to get hurt of course, but he was glad that they both of them were here as opposed to having to look for each other. "Right, I'll try mine." He said as he rolled his and it landed on 5. All right, 5 spaces forward. He waited for New to get his bearings again before he started to move forward. After he was at the 5th space and realized that something that sounded like a dog, or even a beast was near him and it sent chills up his spine and made his hair stand on edge. "Let's try to get out of here quickly!" He said, with a bit of fear in his voice. He really wanted to get away from this.

You can’t see them, but you suddenly hear shrill, high pierced noises that are disorienting and confusing. They can bring about dizziness and pain and can cause vertigo if you’re stuck in them for too long. "You know we'll never be safe this time of year, it's nearly unavoidable. I do wonder if those who are powered have a higher chance of encountering these issues, these magical problems, in this city than normal civilians..." There would be absolutely no way to get datam to find out the odds, but it was an interesting idea. Could their magic, whether powered or not, attracted more of the cities chaos or not. There was some logic behind the idea...but was it true? That was a quesiton which would never be fully answered, and they wouldn't even be able to answer it at all, he didn't know enough powed people to start asking and getting an idea on such things.
"I agree, I don't want to remain here either." That said he was rolling his dice and moving as quickly as he could to pick it up, once it had stopped moving across the ground. Another push, another hit to his person, and he was scrambling to relocate himself. The new space seemed safe enough, at least he thought so, nothing was even turning up to push and move him. Lucky! At least he thought so until he heard it...something that was loud and shrill filled the air.
"Oh!" Shouting, hoping to be heard over the noise, he didn't realizde the other might not be able to hear him. The noise was so loud though, so shrill, he didn't even hear himself over the pain inducing volume was the ringing through his space. "Need to get moving!" He needed to keep moving, to escape this space, but he would need to wait for his partner to move first. Hopefully they did not land here and join him in this chaos.

Quote: Space 6: You hear a shrill, humming noise; it sounds almost like something is firing past you–and sometimes, you even feel a sharp burst of air, like something has just missed you. Maybe, even, it does get a slice out of you. Sharp, bladelike threads seem to string up around you; you’d best be careful not to get cut on any of them between now and your next dice roll. Bellerophon was starting to get too anxious about this whole... whatever it was that he wasn't even sure if he was hearing what Itokawa was hearing. The ability to hear just got worse as he rolled his die and ended up on a 1. And after moving he heard a loud piercing noise and he could only jump a little out of the way before the invisible wall stopped him and when he finally opened his eyes when he was sure he hadn't been hurt on anything he could see... threads? Whatever they were, he wasn't getting near them, even if they were harmless. He was keeping himself pressed against the invisible wall as far as he could. "This feels like the start of a Saw movie." And he didn't like those nor did he ever watch them, but it certainly felt that way.

Space 10: A swampy smell fills the air. You take a step, and you seem to sink into it. Mud creeps over your feet, and you sink rapidly. Ankle deep, knee deep. Whether or not you squirm and fight against it, you are sinking. The mud is crushing and painful, and if you sink too deep it steals the breath from your lungs. There’s nothing to grab onto; you have to roll your dice quickly before that too gets sucked into the muddy quicksand.
At the mention of the saw movies he nodded his head slowly. He'd never seen them, neither of them had, but he knew enough to know that this whole thing felt a little like that. It wasn't as bad, death wasn't something they'd be facing, but damn it if he didn't feel like they were in some manner of danger. This wasn't what he wanted to be dealing with. "When we get out of here we're going right home." That said by him shouting over the noise that was killing his ears, he was sure to have his ears ringing after this, as he made to roll his die.
The die was tossed lightly, almost lazily, before he was moving to pick it up and get moving. The noise was driving him nuts and he needed to escape it, he was going to need an asprin or two when they got home. Stepping three spaces, half way across the board now, he froze when he took the first step onto the spot. Oh...oh s**t. This wasn't going to be good, and he knew it, he could feel the ground giving under his feet. "Ohhh..." Softly the word passed his lips, long and drawn out, as he was pushed fully on to the square...where the ground gave out under his feet slowly, though not slow enough.
As he made his way across the square, wanting to get to the other side so he could escape quicker, Itokawa let his die roll across the muddy ground before picking it up. His feet had, by now, sunk into the ground and his ankles had vanished as well. The thickness, how hard it was to move, he could barely move his legs as it took a whole lot of effort. Manage he did though, because he needed to, the super senshi felt the ground slowly envelope his calves and head up towards his knees. The crush of pressure of the mud around his legs was suffocating...leaving the muscles in his legs screaming for release.
"If you can - avoid this square!" Shouting back to his partner, because this spot was not a good one to land on.

He made sure to move to the next space again and was about to say that it wasn't up to him whether or not he could skip that square, but then he heard some flapping which was quickly followed by loud screeching noises that immediately pierced his brain and made it feel as though it was getting direct hits from sound. Even though it only took a moment, he managed to put his hands over his ears, dropping his die at the same time and it rolled. "If we find whoever made this thing let's drain them!" He shouted, unsure if his partner could hear him over the loud shrill sounds.

Space 14: The ground is sticky. You land on this and immediately dip, as though you’ve stepped on a trampoline. Close inspection reveals that you are standing on an intricately woven web–and your shoes are stuck. And something is skittering just on the horizon.
"I'm with you on that." He called out, already making his way ever so slowly out of the mud that had taken hold of his legs. It was slow going, and not at all easy, but he was not letting himself get stuck here and pulled under. "Though I suspect whoever built this has far more magic than either of us." And many other people as well, to make something like this surely took a lot, this was something like a pocket dimension and thus complicated and broke so many rules of science it was unreal....litterally.
The dice he had rolled led him to where he was going next...and to whatever would befall him next. He was dreading it as he stepped out of the space he'd been stuck in. At least he was safe from the quicksad...or m,ud...whatever it was. The ground under his feet again gave, not a good sign, but there was no mud and his feet didn't sink into the ground. It was, in his opinion, an improvement but just how much of one?
Turning back to his partner he could feel the ground cling to his boots...like gum but not. It certainly made lifting his feet and moving them hard though. "Something is stick here...the ground isn't normal here." He called out, warning his partner, this wasn't great either but it wouldn't be as hard to escape...and escape was just what he was going to want to do soon enough. While he walked, testing the ground, he could hear something and even on occasion feel it..there was another weight on the sticky ground. What it was he did not know...but he could chittering like noises..clicking. It was enough to get his nerves going, to unsettle him, as he took a moment to let his die dro pto the ground because it too got stuck and would not roll as it should.
Picking it up was when he realized what was so sticky. "A web...." Realization dawned on him and he called out a warning to his partner - to warn him that this square was a web and a giant spider...though he hadn't seeni the knew it was here. Holy s**t!

Quote: Space 8: Something slithers across your foot, so fast that you might have thought you imagined it. Except, a few seconds later, it happens again. And then, again. Snakes keep moving across your space. If you move, they see you–and they might bite. Some of them hiss, some are capable of spraying a poisonous liquid that can cause itchiness or burning. Well his luck certainly wasn't getting better as he once again got another 1 and could only move forward one space, quite behind his partner now. He was at least able to let go of his ears and only had to wait for the sound from the screeching to go away. Except it wasn't, or at least what sounded like a good dose of tinnitus was making it seem like the sound was continuing. He really hoped that he didn't just get permanent tinnitus... Then he felt something over his boot. Not the details of it, but he could definitely tell that there was something, and when he looked down he saw snakes. Lots of snakes. Enough that Indiana Jones would be saying "Screw that, I'm out of here". And they were throwing little hisses out here and there. Well, that meant he didn't have problems with his ears at least, but he needed to get out of here anyway. He threw the die down far away, close to the edge of the tile, so that no matter what he rolled, he could just get it when he move to the next one.

Space 15: Bats. Maybe you missed them attacking earlier, but they’re back again, and angrier than ever. Instead of just screeching or scratching, they’re swooping down and biting now–and the effects are instantaneous. The little teeth are sharp and painful, but once bitten you might feel agitated and prone to violence, and you might feel perpetually cold and hungry with no relief in sight. The effects might last when you leave the square–or they might linger for a few hours or days after you get out of here.
Next year they were going to be avoiding dice, of any and every kind, the moment fall hit. Looking over his shoulder as he thought this, seeing his partner all the way back there, Itokawa really felt for him. He kept his eyes on the other while moving to the next space himself. "You ok there?" He called out, hoping the other was alright, as they were making such slow progress and he was worried. The slower they moved, took one space at a time, he would encounter more things and potentially get hurt - the chances were too high for his liking.
Turning around suddenly as something hit into him, with some amount of force, and bit at him Itokawa was taken by surprise to see a bat. Grabbing at it he threw it as soon as he yanked it off his chest where it had landed and bitten him. "Damn it!" Cursing as more bats came, because of course there were more, bats had to come in groups - large groups. The bats decided to swarm him and bite and flap at him, hitting him with their wings, as he yelped and tried to swat as many away as possible. Cursing as things continued, falling and tripping over them. The die in his hand fell onto the ground, and rolled, and he caught a glimpse of the roll while fending off as many bats as he could.
Shivering from the cold, while he smacking another bat, the dark haired male hissed as one sunk it's teeth into his neck. Cursing more as his uniform was torn, struggling to get onto his feet, he nearly fell again.

Quote: Space 11: You hear a frantic flapping above you, but that’s all the warning you get before a hoard of bats descend. They scratch and slap and screech, but you avoid getting bitten. For now. You’ve invaded their space and they seem keen to defend it. You can try to fight them, but the only way to escape them is to roll again. He managed to get away from the snakes, going slowly through them, making sure not to step on the ends of their tails and whatnot. This tile was at least a bit nicer than the other ones so far, even if he was sure he would be hearing that hissing in his nightmares tonight. And, thank goodness, the die had rolled something other than a 1, so he was able to go three spaces. well, if they could laugh about something now, it would be the fact that both of them were attacked by bats around the same time. He also got to face a flurry of the winged creatures and could only shield his face and try to hit them with his gauntlets. Whether that made a difference he couldn't tell. "I'm as fine as you are!" So whatever level of "fine" that Itokawa was at, that was what Bell would be at now as well. He threw his die down, hoping that he would get more than one space this time. But when it landed, he saw... double the amount of tiles he could now go? At least it was granting them some mercy.

With the dice rolled, and scooped up, the dark haired male was nearly giddy as he escaped. The last bat which he grabbed, as it was about to bite him, lay on the ground dead...it's neck snapped. He might have gotten annoyed with it, more like unreasonably angry, and it had died for annoying him. He wasn't going to tell his partner about that; they might worry. As he made his way to the end of the board, to the last spot, he stood there shivering for several moments before starting to pace. That would help him get warmer - right? It was also that he wanted out of here - now. He would wait though, he had to, Bell was still stuck severl spaces behind and he wasn't leaving them.
"Just kill the bats." He shouted, though perhaps that was the best advice to give - it wasn't very kind. Though kindness wasn't on the agenda for right now, it had flown off somewhere with the bats which had been biting him.
