They were off of Tempesti’s homeworld, and they both had shiny new trinkets, not that Kemi had any idea what to use it for, and simply slipped it into subspace before looking at Vilenius. “Are you all in one piece? How are your eyes?”

They had both gone a little crazy by the end there, kicking and punching the construct with all of the effort that they could muster, and it had been…quite impressive, honestly. Both of them. Using physical means instead of magic but…Senshi magic wasn’t always suited to every situation.

“Be honest with me now, do you have sunglasses? Are you truly holding up all right in this…city. On this planet?”

It was funny, how after protecting him for a little while, she now felt quiet…responsible for him.

“Should we exchange information so that we can meet up again?”

This was asked with a little more hesitation. He didn’t remember her, she was quite sure of that fact at the moment but…it didn’t mean that he wouldn’t...as time went on. Memory could be funny, and if they continued inhabiting the same spaces…well. That could end poorly if she wasn’t smart about it.

“You don’t have to, but I assume you have a phone? Were given one by a Mauvian?”

“...Why are you so chatty?” Vilenius scowled, not actually annoyed by her, but embittered that they had left Tempesti’s world without any exploration. It was for the best, he supposed; his eyes did need a break, and already the darkness of the city was soothing. He didn’t want to admit that it sounded like a good idea to head home and close his eyes. Priam was a doctor, he would find something useful for his eyes.

“I am fine,” he insisted, because it seemed strange to be honest about it. He didn’t have any reason to mistrust Kemi, excluding the strange, shifting wind in the back of his mind, but that had no merit and no worth.

His eyes hurt. HIs ears hurt. His hands hurt. His nails hurt a lot.

“I am well tended to on this planet. I have a perfectly adequate living situation. And perfectly capable attendants.”

Sterling probably wouldn't like being called that. Priam might not mind.

As if to prove that all of his comments were true, Vilenius withdrew his senshi phone. “I have this. What other information do you want? –Why do you want to meet up again?” he asked, as though the question was suddenly a bit confusing. Interesting, of course! He did not say no. He just wasn’t used to people wanting to make follow up plans.

Another oddity about her.

“Why am I so…” Kemi paused and gave him a look. “My apologies, I just wanted to be friendly, that’s all. There’s nothing personal to it, I enjoy companionship, it’s…something I’ve really…started to value since I’ve been here. I…have realized that you can’t just do this alone. No matter how much that has worked in the past.”

As he brought out his Senshi phone, she nodded, smiling slightly. “Yes, good. Then we can communicate. That’s. Excellent. Carefully, she opened up the right program and snapped a picture of him, it wasn’t flattering but, then again she hadn’t given him the chance to pose…not that she thought he would pose but…that was neither here nor there.

“...I’m glad that you have people who are helping you to adjust. Are you happy?” A strange question, a loaded question but…

Kemi found that she really wanted an answer to it.

Vilenius snorted but did not answer her question. Instead, he watched her through narrowed eyes, as if such scrutiny might yield some hidden answers about her.

It didn’t.

“You are very strange,” he deduced, and as she had taken a picture of him, he promptly catalogued her for his own phone. Would he need to message her, ever? Maybe not. He wasn’t much for socializing or making friends.

But, she was so odd. And she made some faraway part of his mind itch, and he couldn’t scratch it on his own.

A part of him wondered where her thoughts were--what history she had been through to make her thoughts shift so drastically on the subject of companionship, but he wasn't sure if he cared enough to open that door. Not now, at least, when he thought a warm shower and a soft bed were all the company he needed.

“I suppose you are friendly enough. I am unaccustomed to it. It feels like you want something.” His suspicion was palpable, and would have been even if he hadn’t announced it. “...But you do not seem so bad. Just strange. We can communicate, if you like.”

He did not warn her that she might find him to be a poor partner. He thought he was excellent company. When he wanted to be.

Tonight, he doubted she’d find him very appealing. He was tired, and sore, and cranky.

Maybe meeting up on another night was the best option.

Maybe they could have a civilized conversation.

"I will have people waiting up for me. So I cannot stay to talk long. Not because I can't," he clarified, as he owed no one his presence, "But because I choose not to. Do you have people waiting somewhere up for you?"

“I have someone who waits for me, yeah. I live with a Mauvian, it’s not a bad way to live. He’s helped me settle in a lot, I owe him a lot.” Not that, she ever really thought about oweing anyone. They were partners. They helped one another, at least they did now that she was….more experienced with this planet.

“I’ll be in touch. Hopefully when we see one another again…it won’t be after such a…strange situation, and we can control how things go a bit better.” Controlling the situation was easier, and it would hopefully lead to Vilenius not going blind from bright lights…but then again, maybe that was just what he did. She didn’t know. She hardly knew him in the past, and she didn’t know him in the present…but.

She could. She would. “Get home safe, and I will do the same. If you ever need someone, don’t hesitate to contact me too, you know. I mean it. I’m…a lot more skilled with the Earth than I had been, and I like helping out.”

Kemi gave a small nod and a smile and turned away, heading back towards her own home.

…She could worry more about Vilenius some other day. And, knowing her. She would.
