Blarney landed with a familiar whoosh and a familiar nausea as he brought himself and the two brand new baby Pages to Blarney Castle. He only barely had time to confirm that, yes, they were both here and nobody had lost any limbs or anything before his stomach turned, he stumbled, caught himself on his stick, and wretched.

He was going to have to stop throwing up on his Wonder. Surely that went against the Knight Code somehow. It had to be - disrespectful, or something. He just hoped against hope that Sabia, the former Blarney, Knight of Earth, hadn't seen or somehow felt it, because he somehow did not think that it would endear him to her whatsoever.

Before he could fall down into a pit of ghost-related anxiety, though, he felt Mad--Edam's hands on his back, soothing him, and the trembling stilled after a few moments.

"Sorry," Blarney croaked, more to Green Chapel than to his sister. "It--it takes a lot out of--to bring guests along," he explained, "but don't--don't panic. It doesn't hurt, or anything. It'll--I'm fine," he said, giving a slightly wan smile as he wrapped his arm around Edam's shoulders, letting her carry some of his weight.

"This is Castle Blarney," he said, pride evident in his voice, in spite of the slightly tremulous note, as he gestured to the castle - to his castle. It was beautiful, and it got more beautiful every time he saw it. Even M--Edam seemed slightly impressed, staring at it with her mouth open in a little 'o'. "When I got here, it was--it was literally nothing," he said, finally heaving off Edam's shoulders to land on a nearby boulder. "Just, like, a faint outline of what had been a building. I guess not all Wonders are quite like that, but...the point is, the more time you spend doing this stuff, the more time you spend at your Wonder, the more it sort of - grows. Changes. Returns to its former glory, whatever that might look like for your specific Wonders." His eyes were still on Castle Blarney, taking in the changes he could see, even from here.

The outer wall, which had been more of a suggestion when he'd last visited with Joy, was complete, now. Beyond the wall, he could see that at least the front-facing wall had grown and spread to cover more of the second story, and it looked like it might be considering spreading up further, which excited Blarney--he had no idea how high it might go, or how wide it might get to be, but he couldn't wait to find out.

After a few more moments of rest and a few small sips of water to settle his stomach, he looked back at the girls, a grin on his face.

"You guys wanna go see my castle for real?"

Magic was so cool.

Well. Mason really hadn't been exaggerating when he'd said that the castle - his castle, he always said - was a lot more to look at now than it had been the first time they'd come. It existed, for one thing, which it certainly had not, the last time Madeline had seen it. It was - remarkable, she had to admit. Especially because she knew that Mason couldn't have actually built the thing himself; she knew he'd gotten all hyperfocused on castles as a concept for a little bit there, but even still, she would have noticed if he'd suddenly invested in old-world stones and lumber and whatever else went into building an entire castle. Plus, it was simply too much work in too short a time, especially for just one person.

This was, truly and literally, a magic castle.

Her brother had his own castle building itself, nearly right before their very eyes.

Life was so unfair, Madeline almost couldn't stand it.

But, as per usual, Madeline swallowed the latent flare of jealousy - everything came so easy to Mason, friends, magic, castles, everything - and looked back at her brother, who was staring adoringly at the structure, as if he had built it with his own two hands. He looked so - happy, she realized with a soft sigh. She couldn't really resent him for that, could she?

Well. Not much, anyway.

"Sure," Madeline said, looking back at the building for a moment before she glanced at Green Chapel. "I mean, I don't mind, but if you'd rather not, that's okay too," she said quickly, though frankly she couldn't think of a non-petty reason why someone wouldn't want to explore a literal magical castle...

"Oh, yeah, we don't have to actually go inside, if you don't want to," Blarney said, clearly very much wanting to actually go inside. "We're in--it's sorta like a--like a little secret magic pocket? Other Knights, like--well, like you, Edam, probably, I'd think--their Wonders are on their actual--planets or asteroids or whatever. Like, not here on Earth. But because we're Earth Knights, they're here. They used to be in the real world, I guess, and then when the real baddy bad guys started rolling up, they went--" here Blarney made a sucking sound and gestured with his hand, then made a popping noise, "--and hid themselves here in this...extra dimension, sort of. No bad guys of any kind can come here. Actually nobody at all can come to your Wonder without you. You can't come super often, especially as a baby Page, 'cause it takes a lot of--of magical juice, but--I really recommend going as often as you can. Your Wonder is where your magic comes from, it's as much a part of you as your weapon or your name, and if you give it some love, it'll give you the same back and then some."

Green Chapel stumbled a little as they arrived. This was her second time riding along with someone else to their source of power, but it wasn't too too bad, all things considered.

Brushing herself off a little, more for effect than anything else, she gazed up at the remains of Castle Blarney. Senshi got planets, and knights got Wonders, apparently. While there was a brief, momentary flare of bitterness at the unfairness of the size of what a knight had versus what a senshi had, it was quickly washed away by a wave of realization. Knights only had to restore one corner of a world. Senshi had to restore the whole world. Sure, the planets with knights might have knights to help out, but the initial legwork was all the senshi's own handiwork. In that sense, a Wonder was a far more manageable project than an entire planet. Where would senshi like her cousins even start? Aquitania was mostly interested in getting time to explore her castle, Aberdonia had been taking auto shop and learning to drive so he could figure out the technology of his planet, but those might just be small potatoes in a truly vast project like a homeworld. A knight's Wonder, by definition, was far closer to home renovation on the scale of a vast estate. Still a big project, but, if a source of power itself responded to its person dropping by for a cup of tea....

Frankly, it was still a lot of work, just now merely a doable level of work.

Green Chapel zoned back into the conversation to hear Blarney suggest they go take a look at his castle. Flushing, she nodded, and murmured, "Sure." This wouldn't be her first castle. Heck, it wasn't even her first magical castle. But Blarney didn't need to know that, there was no reason to rain on his parade.

Turning to Edam, she smiled. "Honestly, I'm curious to see what things look like after a bit of restoration. I don't think I've got a castle waiting for me when I visit my Wonder," she said, which was true, the "Green Chapel" sounded like it might be a wilder place, maybe in a forest or something, "so seeing someone else's castle should be interesting. Besides, I'd like to hear a bit about the restoration work," she admitted. Which was true, though, if, as she suspected, the Green Chapel was mostly a wild and natural place, the page had no idea how she'd personally proceed. Maybe by extensive weeding, or something?

She'd have to see when she got there. Whatever the Chapel was, it had granted her the power necessary to save herself and those around her in a moment of very real danger, and the least she could do for it was to help it get to a better place, even if she wouldn't be able to see it very often, not right at first. Hopefully, even in decay, it was as beautiful as Castle Blarney.

"I'd be fine going inside, as long as it's structurally sound inside," she said, aware that old buildings, even magically self-repairing old buildings, could be rather treacherous.

Blarney felt a little shy about his Wonder. She wasn't ready to be seen by People with a capital P. The only humans other than himself to see her were Madeline, who as his twin sister hardly counted as 'people', and Joy, who as his mentor...

Well, no, Joy, she definitely counted as People as a capital P. But he'd needed her help - he hadn't been showing off his Wonder to her, he'd just needed her (considerable) physical strength, and then apparently her ghost-speaking abilities, although he hadn't known that at the time.

"Yeah, no, the ground floor, at least--that part's pretty safe, I think," Blarney said as he led them up to Castle Blarney. He decided pretty quickly that he would not be showing them the basement/dungeon; that was not the best first impression for a Wonder to make, in his opinion.

"So this is like--the entrance hall," Blarney said as they stepped into the castle. "When I first got here--there was literally, like, M--Edam can tell you, it was straight up just an empty field with like, the faint outline of a foundation. So it's grown a lot," Blarney said, with no little bit of pride; it felt like the better he did, the better his castle did, and it was nice to see the physical manifestation continuing to improve.

"Those are stairs up, if you're feeling brave," he said with a grin, "and then back here...is the Great Hall."

--

Madeline--Edam--followed her brother, trying to absorb what he was saying; he was right that it hadn't been like this when they'd been here before. It hadn't been anything, and now it was a castle. Yes, she could understand now why he'd gotten all those books about castles from the library - you'd need them, if you were trying to understand a self-manifesting castle.

She tried to pay attention to what he was saying; something about the Great Hall and what it had likely been used for. But she was only half-listening; she kept getting distracted by her own--was it a uniform? A costume? She turned the slingshot over in her hands, studying the wood; it was light and easy to carry, though the lack of...what did you even put in a slingshot? Rocks? Madeline--Edam sighed.

Maybe, at least, she could get a castle out of this, she thought to herself. She'd always wanted a castle.

"I don't know what an Edam is," Edam said, "but a Green Chapel sounds lovely, I think. Like--have you seen on Pinterest, those like--forest churches? With all the trees and the natural light?" Yes, Edam was aware of the historical, literary Green Chapel, but...still. One thing might not have anything to do with the other. "They're beautiful. Maybe yours will be like that."
