Quote:
Snow Strike (11) : While out, a sudden snowball smacks you squarely--then another, and another--launched with uncanny accuracy from nowhere you can pinpoint. Whether it’s one unseen assailant or an entire invisible team, the barrage is definitely targeted, and attempting to throw snowballs back or defend yourself only seems to escalate the attack. Sometimes the snowy onslaught will follow you if you run; other times, stepping past a certain point makes it abruptly stop, as if whatever’s behind it has lost interest. No matter how intense it gets, the bombardment always dwindles after a few moments, leaving you cold, dusted in snow, and wondering who--or what--decided you were the perfect target for winter mischief.

Again, and again, and again, snowballs were being thrown at Thulite. She didn’t know who was doing it, but there was a something nearby and obviously they had to be coming from this order filth.

There was a rock on the ground, a nice one, sharp looking. Jagged. She grinned and picked it up, packing snow around it and making her own snowball, just to even the playing field. Some of the bubble wand juice was poured over it to give the snow a hardened crust on the outside too…this…was perfect. Would be perfect.

Thulite moved swiftly and gave a shrill whistle when the pink clad Page came into view. “Hey! I’m absolutely annoyed by all the snowballs, why don’t you try this one on for size, you princess wannabe.”

And she threw her ‘special’ snowball, with all the strength she could muster, hoping to hit the girl’s face. Of course if she had really wanted the element of surprise she wouldn’t have shouted, but…whatever. Revenge was a dish that she was serving cold.

Had the agent known that she was also getting bombarded with snowballs from nowhere, and had darted in their direction to try and ask for help—because honestly, she didn’t power up often enough to fully appreciate the difference between the two sides—Weser hoped they wouldn’t have aimed a snowball right at her. As things currently stood, though, she must have been too far away for the agent to see or comprehend that she was also a target, and had chucked a (shining?) snowball right at her.

A shrill scream escaped her as she grit her teeth and dropped into a slide, baseball style like she’d seen in some movies, successfully dodging the snowball but sending snow very regrettably up her dress.

“What was that for?” she cried as she stumbled up to her feet, scooping up snow as she went. She packed it into a snowball and flung it in the agent’s direction, though a solid snowball to her back knocked her off balance. She fell forward, into the snow, with a muted thud, and could feel more snowballs starting to pile atop her fallen form.

“What the ******** do you mean what was that for? You’ve been pelting me with them, and I’m sick of it!”

Jeeze. Good to know, that the weaker these order people were, the stupider they were. It was starting to really add up that this was the case. First the bird brain, now this girl asking why she was being attacked…it was so stupid.

“How could you think I wouldn’t want to get even with you? I’m sick of this. You’re not the first one to do this to me, and if I can help it you will be the last. I’ve never taken a starseed before but maybe I can start with yours.”

At least she sounded threatening, that was a good sign.

Even with her being ever so slightly stronger in this form, Weser’s constitution was still on the lower side. She wasn’t quite as frail, but she’d been running flat out from her own snow pelting assailant and by the time she’d fallen face first into the snow she was already exhausted. The weight of the snow piling on top of her quickly became far too much for her to stand without help, but she tried anyway.

"It wasn't me!" she said, sounding breathless and shivering as the cold started to seep through. She had thought, the first time she went out on patrol one brisk evening toward the beginning of winter, that it was magic that had sustained her for this long without any trouble at all against the cold. But with the snow piling ever higher she imagined that it, too, was at its limit.

"In case it isn't obvious to you yet," continued the Page, who was starting to sound even more muffled despite her effort to turn her head so she can talk. "I'm still getting attacked by whatever it is!"
The sound of snow piling on snow died away as soon as she said that, though, and while she was relieved that it stopped...it made her out to now look like a liar. Which she wasn't! How could she be? She was more than half-buried under a mound of snow that she couldn't have possibly piled onto herself.

“And there you go again, pretending that I’m the stupid one.” Thulite rolled her eyes and picked up another rock from the ground, tossing it up and catching it before chucking it towards the page, then chucking her bubble wand right after. Hopefully she wouldn’t be able to duck away from both...and if she did…well. Then perhaps she deserved to not get hit this time. But, if that was the case, Thulite would just…have to try harder.

As it was, she took the time after throwing to get closer to the princess looking girl…

Hm. The outfit kind of reminded her of what Alice liked to wear and for just a second, she felt…a little bad. Not enough to not want to fight, but maybe enough to change her mind about taking this girl’s starseed…the dress was pretty, she supposed. Even if it was slightly tacky.

“Maybe you’re not really worth killing today but. Actually, if you tell the truth, I won’t kill you. How’s that for kindness?”

Weser was about to say something, but bit her tongue at the sound of two something getting added on to her pile.

She wasn't exactly pretending this agent was stupid considering how insistent she was about blaming her without any actual evidence. Maybe it was a testament to her sanity, though? What sane person would believe snowballs were being pelted from nowhere? But then again, what sane person believed that magic existed until they saw it with their own eyes?

So maybe it was fair enough that she would blame the first person she saw.
But considering she was buried in snow?

"I'm not lying," she said, still struggling against the pile. It shifted slightly, to her relief, so she painstakingly continued to try and wiggle herself free as she went on. "Something started pelting me down that way, so I started running and looking for help."

Well damn. Neither the rock nor her bubble wand seemed to hit the girl and Thulite nearly gave a disgruntled sigh, but that would look too much like giving up so all she did was scoff again and toss back her long braid. “Sure, Jan. Keep lying to yourself. Order are idiots, and you’re just absolutely proving the point, and if that was your goal, congrats! You suckkkk~” Both her hands curled into fists and she shot her middle fingers up. “Anyway. I’m bored. You’re boring. Enjoy your imaginary friend, I hope that they have better luck hitting you than I did.”

It was obviously how she knew that this idiot was lying, dumbass. Maybe next time she’d get her story straight.

“If I’m lucky though, they’ll hit you with more snowballs and you’ll drown! Good luck, princess.”

She turned on her heel and waved behind her, sauntering off.

Of course, when another snowball came at her...and from the side…she managed to avoid it, scoffing.

Nice try.

It wasn't often that someone was mean enough to actually get to her, but this agent was just...

"Awful," she mumbled, tears prickling at the corners of her eyes, and she went on with her struggle to free herself. It took a while and it was more exhausting that she thought possible for something so simple, but eventually she did get free.

Weser turned over and just lay in the snow for a bit longer, breathing hard but relieved that she was at least able to get up now when she was ready. She wondered a bit about the really, really mean agent, and some small part of her even hoped that she got hit by a bunch of snowballs the rest of the time she was out.
"Whatever," she eventually muttered as she got up and headed home. At least she hadn't killed her, so that...maybe counted for something.

Barely, but it was something.
