Marshmallow Snow: (5) : Fresh-fallen snow coats Destiny City. It’s pristine and crisp, and it crunches as you walk through it. It may be a few inches deep, but it doesn’t seem to go above your calves when walking. At first, it’s easy enough to walk through, but gradually you realize that it’s getting harder to move. Every step you take feels like the snow is pulling you back in, and if you get a good look you might realize that sticky white fluff is clinging to you. The more you walk, the more it pulls, until you’re almost completely stuck. Something about the snow smells oddly sweet, and the tacky, marshmallow-like snow seems like it’s suddenly become a prison. The more you try to break free, the stickier it gets, and you’d better hope you don’t fall down. The more you struggle the harder it is to escape, but if you manage to stay still for a few minutes, the marshmallow will freeze and crystallize. When you move again, the snow will turn into a powdery dust and you can break free easily. The only good thing about this is that you won’t starve if you get trapped–the snow tastes just like marshmallows.

Totoro had gone out after supper, he was headed towards the neighborhood playground humming as he did. The snow was pretty much pristine except for where he walked. Listening to the snow crunch under his paw shoes made him excited as he trudged through.

He figured it was too cold for anything crazy to happen most people weren't out either in this weather. Probably staying home or shopping with warm drinks. He was debating on what he wanted to do beyond going to the playground. He felt his feet slowly getting heavy as he ventured through a snow drift.

There was a moment when he paused looking down to see why and noticed that the snow had started clinging to his shoes and actually his legs too. He looked curiously trying to see why but the snow wouldn't come off and it seemed fairly sticky. He shrugged it off and continued on but realized the more he walked the thicker the snow got and the harder it was to walk.

Totoro slowed and started investigating the snow wondering why it seemed to thick and sticky. Using a hand to pick up some and watched it do something unexplainable for snow, he watched it string kind of like the marshmallow sand he'd seen. It also smelled like marshmallows.

The chibi senshi was very confused by this as he even tasted the snow. Yup, that was marshmallows. But how had snow turned into marshmallow fluff? He'd heard the song marshmallow world but that usually didn't mean literally right? He was still trying to navigate to the playground but realized he was growing tired and wasn't sure what else to do because this snow was very persistent in clinging to him.

He eventually stopped and stood still debating on what he needed to do to free himself as it seemed to continue to walk did not work for escaping it. He did think the marshmallow snow would be really good in hot chocolate. And well quite frankly he did want some right now, even though his fuku offered fairly decent magical protection from the elements. It wasn't stopping his brain from saying this was cold and he needed to escape.

He noticed as he stood still thinking about how to escape his snowy prison that it was slowly hardening like a hard candy coating. The young senshi looked at the goopy snow around his legs that was solidifying and he tilted his head.

Maybe, if it hardened enough he could get it to break. It was very hard for him to stand still but after what felt like an eternity to the chibi he moved and the once sticky snow crumbled into a fine powder. He dusted off his fuku and made sure no more sticky snow was stuck on him and checked the surrounding area - which seemed to have turned back to normal? He felt like this place was truly crazy.

The chibi shrugged and changed course, now he wanted a hot chocolate and there was luckily a little shop not far away which he could snag something hot to drink. Maybe with extra marshmallows and sprinkles!
