Odainsaker had heard whispers of sheep wondering the city and she'd decided to search for them in the snowy drifts that had been built up in a field she knew near by.
She wasn't sure there was still enough grass for them to eat. She brought some sliced apples and carrots for the creatures when she found them. The squire wondered where the sheep had escaped from because it was unusual for them to be in the city.
Unless, they were like normal seasonal critters that just showed up one day and left the next after whatever was going on. Which also seemed highly likely. The bunnies she'd seen a few weeks earlier were adorable and snow flakey so maybe the sheep did too. "Now, where could these sheep be at?" She said wondering aloud as she was looking around. The squire also had added a small white shawl over her arms to help keep herself a bit warmer. At least, the appearance of being warmer anyways.
Counting Sheep (12) : All around the city, odd, lumpy mounds of snow have begun appearing--harmless at first glance, until one of them suddenly shifts, shakes itself off, and lets out a loud bleat. A large flock of incredibly fluffy, snow-covered sheep has wandered into town from who-knows-where. Their dense white wool blends perfectly into the winter landscape, and snow clings easily to them. They seem perfectly content in the cold and go about their business without a care, but it’s still startling to watch what looks like a miniature snowdrift suddenly get up and trot away. They're typically not hostile, but they will attempt to flee and avoid capture. They seem good natured--adorable, warm, and only occasionally a little chaotic.

The strange snowdrifts held Carterhaugh's attention, given that they seemed...well, a little odd. Lately, the snow itself seemed somewhat hostile, and he couldn't help but be a little suspicious of drifts that seemed...oddly placed.
His hope was that it was a natural phenomenon. Or something nice and cute. Or....anything that wasn't trying to hurt him. But he'd taken a seat on a nearby low stone fence to watch them, and tried to decide how long he was going to sit before he decided they were...just snow.
There was someone else coming, and he turned to look, and was glad to feel an Order signature and see the light colors of an ally. She was a fellow Knight, he could tell that much--shimmering with pastels and looking very unseasonably dressed. And what she was looking for brought a little, amused smile to his face.
"Looking for sheep? I wouldn't expect to see those in the city outside a petting zoo," he said, lightly.
As he greeted his fellow Squire, the snow began to move. And then, with a bleat, a sheep shook itself out of one of the snowdrifts Carterhaugh had been watching.
Odainsaker grinned when she seen the other knight, "Yup! I've heard there's suppose to be sheep. I know it sounds silly."
Of course no sooner had she said it sounded silly there was a bleat as if on cue and the sheep shook the snow off of their wool. Odain chuckled a bit, "Well, the rumor mill wasn't wrong again it seems."
She hummed, "I'm Odainsaker~" The squire added as she pulled out her snacks for the sheep from her subspace, "Want to see if the sheep are hungry? I would've brought them some hay but that was a bit too messy for my subspace."
There was a chuckle as she waited for Caterhaugh before heading over to the sheep.

"I suppose anything is possible in Destiny City," Carterhaugh acknowledged. Silly it may sound, but there was proof in front of them, with more of the creatures shaking off the snow and joining the first. Honestly, it was a pleasant surprise--so much of the snow nonsense he'd dealt with had been....upsetting. Unpleasant. Really, really trying to harsh his vibe when he just wanted to enjoy how nice the snow was.
He itched to go back to his Wonder, because at least enjoying the snow there wasn't going to be interrupted by random snowballs or sandpaper snowflakes. Alas, he'd tried, but it seemed he needed to wait a little longer.
And, well, there likely wouldn't be any adorable snow-sheep, either.
"Carterhaugh," he introduced himself, sliding off his seat and stepping forward to observe. "Unfortunately, I didn't bring any snacks, but if you've got them, I'd bet our new friends would be very happy for some. I find most animals like food, technically hungry or no."
Odainsaker nodded and chuckled, "Yes it does seem that way. At least these guys seem friendly."
She hummed offering a slice of apple to the nearest sheep as it bleated at her before watching it sniff at her hand and take the offered fruit slice, "If you want I brought enough for someone else to feed them too~!"
She summoned another bag, "I figured if I didn't find them they'd be a good snack either way." She offered the bag to Carterhaugh. "I think the winter animals so far are my favorite. I've seen little cute bunnies that when they shake make snow flakes and now these snowy sheep."

Carterhaugh thought for a moment, and then decided that yeah, okay, that did sound pretty fun. And also, maybe he'd have to pack some snacks in the future--for himself, as diplomatic offerings, or for strange animals that popped out of the snow like wooly daisies.
Perhaps that was a weird metaphor. At least he hadn't said it out loud.
"Sure, if you're sharing," he said, extending a hand to one of the sheep, and was surprised and delighted when it butted its head into his palm.
"I haven't seen the bunnies yet this year," he said, with a little laugh, "but I've run into them before. Lovely little creatures. Extremely friendly, like these guys."
Odain nodded and grinned, "Of course I'm sharing!" She answered with a chuckle as a sheep leaned on her.
She was rubbing the sheep with her free hand, "The wool is so soft and warm." She hummed pulling out a carrot stick to offer it as she watched the other sheep gather around them.
"Yes, I enjoyed the little bunnies but my fuku is unfortunately a bit too fantasy for sitting on the ground and hanging out with them." She started laughing.
"I think I got the short end of practical outfits, but at least I can add some layers if I ever have to." There was a hum as she thought, "Speaking of I like your fuku Carterhaugh."

Carterhaugh took the offered snacks, presenting one to the sheep in front of him, who happily gobvbled it down and then butted its head at his hand again.
"Okay, okay," he said, with a little laugh, "attention and pets, I get it." He reached out to stroke his fingers through the wool--soft and warm, as Odainsaker had said--and the sheep seemed quite pleased with the attention.
"Aw, yeah, it does look like it'd be a bit cold," he agreed. "But I like yours too. Mine feels....well, it feels nice. Just right for me." Maybe he could have stood to have it a little fancier, but that was details.
Odain nodded as she was rubbing the sheep. "I think it's usually fine on my wonder." She admitted as she sighed, "It does seem warmer there than here, I don't really know if there's winter."
She grinned, "Thanks I like mine to minus the lack of protective layers in the winter. It did seem to get a bit fancier when I powered up, so I don't know what it'll look like next time."
When a couple of the sheep laid back down, Odain grinned and moved over to them and made herself comfortable with them. "Oh you should try this, it feels like a wonderful place to sit, perhaps almost nap too~!"

"I bet a magical spot in the cosmos has whatever kind of weather," Carterhaugh said. "I definitely get winter on my Wonder, though. Last time I visited, it was all covered in snow. Really, really beautiful." He sighed, fondly, as he moved to join her and sit with the sheep.
"I am curious how mine will change if I get stronger. But that's in the future." It was hard to imagine undergoing that change again, nearly a year later, when it felt like barely any time at all had passed since he became a Squire. Then again, he'd been gone for so long....
Well, no point ruminating.
"Might as well sit and enjoy our wooly friends, for now," he said. "Who knows how long they'll be here."
