Carrollite was sitting on the ground watching the bunnies as they played. There was one that had come up to her and she was petting it softly as she hummed. "Aren't you guys cute?"
The lieutenant was watching them as they bounced and played and some even gathered around her climbing on her lap. One of the little bunnies sneezed and then shook it's fur and she watched little snowflakes fly. "Bless you, and aw y'all are adorable!" She giggled.
It wasn't normal she was just slacking off in uniform but she'd come across the cuties. "I could sit here with you guys all day. . . I think I might have some trail mix if you're hungry?" She said pulling out the trail mix from her sub space.
Snowbunnies (1) : Winter seems to bring out the cutest of all rodents; this isn’t the first time that small, white rabbits have infested Destiny City. They’re small, rarely larger than a guinea pig, and have large eyes and wiggling noses. They are always pure white and seem to show up whenever there’s snow. They aren't menacing or evil, they're just everywhere. They seem strangely domesticated; they are sweet, curious, and friendly creatures that will eat anything you give them. They always seem cold to the touch, and when they shake, little snowflakes sprinkle off of them.
While they seem to be social creatures who seem to appreciate anything warm and will cuddle up to steal body heat, they are too skittish and fast to be kept for pets. They can show up just about anywhere, either alone or--often--in pairs. They tend to wander off on their own without any trouble, but if you surprise them or try to catch or hurt them, they may bite. Their little teeth are enough to break skin, but after one bite they run away. The bite itself isn’t bad, but the effects are a bit unpleasant: for roughly two days after the bite, the injury is cold and the victim will feel random, cold, shooting pains. Their core body temperature will drop and they will often be sent into random fits of shivering. No medicine seems to help, and no amount of blankets or hot baths can soothe the chill. You're just going to have to deal with it and hope it gets better…
Most experiences with the bunnies are perfectly pleasant, you just have to worry about them burrowing. There are holes peppering Destiny City, and with the fresh fallen snow it can be impossible to tell where they are hiding. The holes range from small holes to several feet deep, so can be a minor inconvenience to a potential hazard. On the bright side, sometimes you wind up covered in bunnies looking for warmth from their sudden guest. On the other hand, there are a rising number of trips to the hospital for twists and sprains. The bunnies always leave with the snow, so best to enjoy them--or avoid them--for as long as you can.

Strange creatures seemed to be the order of the day, and Carterhaugh had to admit, he preferred these to something like the chicken from the summer that might have tried to eat him. Or to that ridiculous gameboard. Or to dealing with Chaos and all the violence it was all too happy to pursue and inflict on people.
Basically: a b***h needed a break, please. At least he didn't have a lot of other people to worry about for gifts, this season--but at the same time, there was a sort of crushing loneliness to knowing that he would be spending a quiet evening alone, with nothing particularly special to do, on a holiday that so many people spent with loved ones.
Maybe that loneliness drew him to the Lieutenant, and her little bunnies.
"Making friends?" He asked. He wouldn't let himself get ahead of himself not again, but this particular agent of Chaos seemed fairly harmless at the moment. "Those little guys certainly like people, don't they?"
She had felt the order signature shortly before she herd them but she was hoping it would just leave her alone. Though it seemed there was no such luck and a sigh came from her lips.
However, it seemed this one might be slightly more friendly than some of the others that had appeared. "Yes, well, trying to I suppose."
She pulled the trail mix from her subspace and offered some to the bunnies, "They do like people it seems. They at least like using me for a jungle gym. And they're warmer than I expected when I saw the snow come from them."
She looked over to the squire who had approached her. "Would you like to join me in playing with them?" They seemed harmless enough so Carrollite was hoping it was a favorable sign.
"I'm Lieutenant Carrollite by the way."

"Seems like you're succeeding," Carterhaugh said. "Or at the very least, like these little guys want you to be."
Honestly, there was something especially cute about seeing a Lieutenant being climbed on by rabbits. A reminder that they were....just...people. People like him, and like so many others.
No matter what Chaos tried to make them.
"I'd love to join you," he agreed, easily. Honestly, he'd been itching to sit down as soon as he came over and saw the little snow-rabbits, so the invitation was more than welcome.
Carterhaugh moved closer, but only so he was near enough to sit down among the bunnies--carefully, to make sure he didn't disturb them too much. Though they seemed quite friendly, and as soon as he was close enough, one of them hopped into his lap seeking attention and affection.
"I'm Carterhaugh," he offered, very gently petting the little creature.
Carrollite gave a light chuckle, "Yes it seems the bunnies are easier to make friends with than people sometimes."
There was a soft sigh, if only her sister hadn't gotten so involved in her work maybe they could still do some of their favorite things but it seemed her sister was drifting away from her with the way she'd been acting. Carrollite's attention though turned to the bunnies and where she'd spread the trail mix they seeemed to happily much on it.
There was a smile that tugged at Carrollite's lips when Carterhaugh said they'd love to join her. "Awesome~! Having company is nice." She was petting one of the bunnies and scratching it on the back as she sat there just letting the bunnies climb around where they wanted.
She looked back at the squire, "So, Carterhuagh you're a knight? Am I right?" She asked curiously there hadn't been many knights that she met but she found herself slowly growing curious as to what they could do.

"Isn't that the truth," Carterhaugh acknowledged, easily. "Animals are almost always easier than people."
Maybe he sohuld get a rabbit. Or two, he'd heard that you were supposed to keep them in pairs or they got incredibly lonely. Certainly, that would brighten up his townhouse.
Not a pair of these, though; he'd heard that people who tried to take these little winter creatures home with them tended to get bit, and that sounded like something he'd rather avoid.
"I am, yes." Getting into the technicality of Knight the rank and Knight the general term seemed a little in the weeds for the moment. "Of Earth, which means I protect a mystical place connected to our own little blue planet."
There was a nod when Caterhaugh said animals were easier than people, "They are, since they don't seem to judge based on looks."
She would've said faction but that was a moot point, and she kind of couldn't blame people but still.
She shifted slowly so as not to disturb the bunnies so she could see Caterhaugh a bit better, "So knights have a plant they're assigned to then?" She asked curiously thinking back to if she'd met any other knights, and she couldn't recall any directly thought she thought she'd seen them in passing, "The reason I ask is I've had a couple of odd looking senshi mention becoming a knight."
She rolled her shoulders, "Can't say I'm not curious about you guys."

"Mm, no, they don't," he said. Ah, well. Perhaps he was lucky tonight. This one seemed like she needed a little guidance, and maybe a friendly hand reached out, and he could definitely do that.
With a little more care and thought for himself, this time, perhaps.
"Yes, every Knight is assigned to a planet. If you've seen that we come in different colors, with different symbols, that's because those symbols and colors represent the planet we're from." He wasn't an expert, certainly, but he knew enough to give a basic explanation. "And yes, if you ever left the Negaverse, you would become a Knight. You'd be given a planetary affiliation and a new name, and your new name would be the Wonder you're given to protect."
It was a good thing the rabbits were present. Made this conversation feel a little safer.
Carrollite was softly rubbing the bunny rabbit as she listened to the explanation making mental notes about knights and there being different planets and that if she left she'd be given a wonder to protect.
She was looking at the rabbit, "Huh..."
She slowly nudged the bunny off her lap thinking, "I still need to think some things over but that's interesting."
Her eyes looked to the bunnies before slowly getting up, "I'm concerned my sister may come looking for me. Since she's a captain that probably wouldn't be good for either of us."
Carrollite dusted off her uniform, "Thank you for speaking with me." She said softly.

"Give it some thought," Carterhaugh said, very seriously. "And be certain it's the right choice for you. You'll give up a lot, leaving, but you may find that what's on the other side is worth it."
He smiled, warmly, and gave her a little wave.
"Stay safe, and you're welcome."
He hoped she really did think about it. Maybe, he could actually help someone--even if just a little bit.
