Harmony Plaza really was lovely. It was a cute little carefully arranged park built around a pond, with blossoming cherry trees decorated with lanterns to mark pretty walking paths that cut across the quiet green space. Benches sat around the pond, and there was plenty of space to lay out a blanket and have a picnic with someone cute.
Sappho was not here for a picnic, per se, but she was here to meet someone cute and get to know her, and that was just as good. She'd ducked out a mirror about a block away and made her way over, and she waited by the park's main entrance, demarcated with a very pretty sign, for Bélénos to arrive.
Maybe she wouldn't show up. Maybe Sappho was kind of okay with that--they had sort of had a very interesting first meeting and maybe Bélénos had thought better of it after Sappho left. but maybe she would, and that was what Sappho was clinging to. There was always a chance, and sometimes things did work out for the better.

Olivia had, true to her word, bought the ******** Easter sweater on discount and put it on, then powered up to slip through a mirror near to Harmony Park, and powered right back down. Better safe than sorry, after all, and they needed to not draw attention to themselves by being in powered form. It would be difficult to go on a cute romantic walk if some uptight Order jerk decided two Dark Mirror Senshi in the area was asking for trouble, even if they weren't.So here she was, as she had said, wearing the ******** Easter sweater, and looking around to see if anyone was looking for someone else. Seeing Sappho as herself brought Olivia up short. She fully stopped in her tracks, staring at Sappho with a confused "Bweh?" leaving her mouth in surprise. She glanced down at her ******** sweater, then back up. "Dude," she said in a defeated tone, "Why did I buy this, then, Sappho?"

Oh. Oh no. Ohhh, Sappho had apparently grossly misunderstood what they were doing, here, and how they were doing it, because--that had to be Bélénos in civvies, in exactly the silly Easter sweater she had shown, and ohhhh Sappho mwas so goddamn dumb.
"I, uh," she said, like a genius, "am an idiot?"
And then, she powered down, with a nervous little smile on her face, tapping her fingers together. At least her cute floral sundress looked good, and it was still warm enough that "cute floral sundress, equally cute sandals" was a reasonable thing to be wearing.
"Sorry, I get...really stupid around pretty girls?" She offered, as an excuse. "I just thought...you know, that way you'd definitely recognize me, and I...hi? My name is Blair? Do you still want to go on a nice romantic walk with me now that I have demonstrated that my brain exits my head when I talk to someone I think is attractive?"

Olivia pushed her glasses up her nose, laughing a little as she stepped closer, taking off the stupid sweater and tying it around her waist. Beneath the sweater was a t-shirt with a herd of cave-painting stylized horses running across it. "You're not an idiot," she assured Blair with a soft giggle. "We were kinda about to get in trouble in that fitting room. I'm Olivia, like this." She did a little spin, showing off her long, flowing green skirt. "And I definitely would like to still take that walk with you. I love your dress! You're so cute," she added with a little squeal. "I could never do dresses myself, and skirts scare me unless they're long enough, and even then, like, heh..." She trailed off with a little blush, shrugging.

Well, at least she hadn't completely ******** this up. That was a positive.
"It's really nice to meet you, Olivia," she said, "properly, I guess?" Which seemed a little silly to say, because sometimes she couldn't decide if Sappho or Blair was more real and if it even mattered because they were both her, just in different ways, and she was pretty irrepressibly herself regardless, but--well, details.
"And, hey, you look super cute," she said. "I love that shirt and that skirt is so perfect on you. There are plenty of people who think I shouldn't dress the way I do," she laughed, because it was, to her, pretty much entirely a joke to pretend she ought to care about that, "but it's all bout confidence. Not that your wardrobe is the point when you look great anyway."
She offered Olivia her arm with a playful little smile.
"So, let's go explore a park, all by ourselves, with no magical nonsense, yeah?"
It would be a nice change of pace, at least.

Olivia giggled a little, grinning at Blair and linking her arm through Blair's. "Those people are all completely wrong," she said matter-of-factly. "You're gorgeous. ******** 'em. And thank you." She began to walk with Blair, enjoying the evening twilight with the pretty sunset, pretty lanterns, and a pretty girl. "Horses are my favorite animal," she said with a little laugh, gesturing to her shirt. "I've actually got one. I know, I know, typical rich girl things, but I count my lucky stars to have Lightfoot. I do a lot of my own caring for him."

"Thank you," Blair said, a little smugly, "I know." She could be just a little egotistical when a cute girl complimented her, right? That was totally fair and reasonable.
and it really was a nice night in a pretty little park, exactly the right place to figure out something new.
Her whole face lit up, though, when Olivia mentioned having a horse.
"Okay, tell me all about him," she said, eagerly. "I never had a horse, my parents are crazy rich but it wasn't something my brother or I ever really wanted, so I now must live vicariously through you."

Olivia beamed when Blair lit up, eagerness shining through her entire body. Hell yes. "Well, his name is Lightfoot, and he's just about the gentlest horse I've ever met. I've had him for a long time—he's honestly getting up there in years, but he still prances about like a foal most of the time. He's very playful. I named him that because he's an Arabian, you know, brown with the white socks? But I was a little bit of a pretentious kid, so naming him Socks sounded lame, like naming a similar kitten Mittens. I don't judge these days, but man, eight-year-old me had some opinions." She laughed a little at herself, shaking her head. "Anyway, I thought Lightfoot sounded cooler because he had light feet. Also, he loves jumping. I used to take him for basic hurdle contests. But unfortunately, that stuff isn't really for the casual owner. Not the way there's like, agility contests for casual dog owners at fairs and stuff. If you do contest stuff with horses, it's your life's work. And it's not really mine. Would you like to meet him sometime? He's super friendly."

Blair couldn't help but giggle at the story of how Lightfoot got his name, because yeah,t hat really was the sort of thing an eight year old would think.
"You know, actually, I remember reading these books, The Unicorn Chronicles? There was a major character who was a unicorn named Lightfoot. I'd wondered fit hat was connected, but not wanting him to be Socks is a really cute reason."
And when the offer was made, Blair nodded.
"I'd love to," she said. "And I'd love to see you ride, even if you're just casual about it. That sounds really amazing."

Olivia giggled. "Aw, cool." Then what Blair said next had her snorting and covering her mouth, trying and failing not to laugh. "See me ride, huh? Didn't take you for a fourth base on a first or second date kind of girl, but okay," she couldn't help but say.

Blair blinked. Well, she'd sort of walked into that one, hadn't she? Still, she put on her most charming smile--might as well roll with it.
"Oh, I promise, I'll take you to dinner first. So third date, maybe." She paused, briefly. "You know. If you're interested in a second, and a third."
God, she hoped Olivia was.

"Well, as long as you pass the Lightfoot test on the second, I sense a third and more in the future," Olivia said her heart hammering and soaring at the same time in a confusing beat in her chest. "I look forward to it."
