Quote: The Lilypads (16) : You can find them in lakes, ponds, reservoirs, and waterways throughout Destiny City. Giant lilypads--some large enough to support the weight of a person--appear overnight. You can try, if you want. It's become a local trend, and pictures are all over social media--of people looking for the largest lilypads, or the smallest ones they can stand on. You'd think the unnatural bubbling around the lilypads would be enough of a sign not to mess with them, but sometimes people need to learn the hard way. Beneath the lilypads lurk strange frog-like creatures that regard nearly everything as prey. The largest of them are roughly the size and shape of a bean bag chair, but they can be as small as a fist. Their broad heads are crowned with lilypads that serve as natural camouflage, allowing them to hide among the floating vegetation until they strike. They move with startling speed and can launch themselves impressive distances with powerful kicks. Long, whip-like tongues lash out to snatch prey, while thick mucus-like saliva can cling to skin, clothing, and even immobilize unfortunate victims. Their skin carries a toxic coating that can cause irritation on contact. The creatures announce themselves with a deep croak that sounds uncannily like a large bell being rung just by your ears. Unfortunately, for anyone that was respecting nature, these strange creatures are aggressive and will also attack without provocation, often attempting to drive even innocent bystanders away from the water's edge. However, if sufficiently threatened, they may retreat into the water. Once submerged, they become impossible to track.
Note: If you choose to encounter one of these frog-like creatures, your character will recognize they are not youma. It is impossible to tell if it is a single entity or if there are many. The creature does not seem to understand or care to listen to human words. All toxic and mucus can be washed away, but effects may persist for a few hours after this encounter. The creature cannot be killed and will always evade lethal blows. While it is rare to find multiple large creatures in the same vicinity, smaller creatures often cluster together, or may be found with a larger one. This RP can be used as a battle requirement as long as there are two powered characters involved; you must be interacting with another player’s powered character. This does not count as the one youma battle per stage for growth. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt. Leitner was trying, more than before at least, given the fact that he had more motivation to drain or leave the house. Hedwig hadn't shrugged off his fears or his nerves when it came to powering up. But given they'd been okay with the change in status from friends to something more, he felt like he should try to go out at least once a week without them to make up for all the nights he'd been too scared to go out after Chalcanthite had yanked his soul out. Keeping further away from any signatures, even if it was hard still for him to tell exactly who was what and how far they were, he managed to find a good enough spot by a pond to let his wraiths wander. Sitting by the water, his shoulders tensing at every minute sound, he texted Hedwig just to check in. It helped, even if they weren't with him right now. While he looked down at his phone, something moved in the water beneath the lilypads. It was only when he tucked it away that he noticed a sound. Standing up quickly, he looked around for where it came from, only to feel a splash of water as something came out of the pond.

Summer evenings were truly the most ideal time to manage his energy quota. The weather was warm enough to entice people into outdoor activities, but not overbearingly hot once the sun had set. Most classes were on pause for the summer, so the college students ambled about well into the night, making them easy targets literally all over the city. Some preferred the bars and clubs, and Rakovanite didn't mind hitting them up for quick, easy group drainings. ...There were a lot of eyes in such settings, however, and there was always the risk of being seen... So if Rakovanite wanted to not be seen, and to not start a fight, he sometimes found it easier to make his rounds through the wilder areas of Destiny City. If he was quiet enough the campers and the fisherman never noticed him, and no one was worse off for it. It helped that it was uncommon for many people involved in this supernatural war to linger too long on the outskirts of society. All of the action was in the city, where most of the people were. Uncommon, but not impossible. Rakovanite saw the wraith before he even felt the signature, and only from the corner of his eye, as he peered through the acrylic glassy surface of a charm but it was barely a few steps more that he did saw the wriath's owner. A Mirror Senshi out alone in such an inconspicuous place... Or- not quite alone, it seemed. The creature plopped out of the water with much intention, and Rakovanite could see, even from the distance he was at, that it was not going to be friendly. It made a sound, something low and deep and reverberating, and something uncharacteristically good-natured must have seized Rakovanite in that instant, because as the large frog's mouth opened, the General teleported to be just behind the Mirror boy, latched on to a fistful of his collar, and yanked him back with force that would probably injure a regular person- as a massive, wet tongue lashed out at where they'd been standing. Another croak, and the creature scrunched down as if preparing to bound toward them. "What have you done to offend this thing?"

Many things happened in an instant, none of which Leitner was prepared for. First was the thing that actually had come out of the water, which had him already tensing up and ready to bolt or throw his magic out in the hope it might do something. Next was the feeling of something just like that general that had his heart instantly starting to race in a panic, worrying that they were back for him. Then, he was getting pulled backward, and time seemed to slow. He barely got a look back as he let out a panicked yelp and nearly lost his footing as he figured out this was a different general, maybe. Even though he was clear from the attack, at least the first one, he jumped back and looked between the man and the frog before looking back towards where he knew a mirror was. Would they chase him? Could he outrun someone who could just appear anywhere like magic? But before his feet moved or he managed to focus enough to try his magic on the frog, a question came, and he just looked at them, dumbfounded. "What?! What do you mean? I was just sitting there. I don't know why the ******** it's after me." Pointing at it, he figured he might as well try his magic. At least then, if they tried to yank his soul out, they'd get a rude awakening, hopefully enough to keep him from getting murdered. At least the frog was stupid enough to try getting him again, this time with its tongue around his ankle. He didn't reach for the general, not that he could without probably making them sick too, but stomping on the tongue with his other foot, he hoped it would inhale some of the haze. He hoped he looked competent enough, even if inside he was panicking and waiting for an opening to bolt before they decided to start something. Indigo_Plateau Super Sailor Scout Attack: Can you feel it? Leitner exhales over his palms as he speaks his magic, a sickening haze seeming to spread from him and can affect all enemies within radius. It clings to him closest, but if he comes in contact with someone or scratches them, then the effects truly begin. A moderate infestation overtakes them: the sensation of a moderate itching beneath the skin, almost like crawling insects, followed by a feeling that something rotten has taken hold even deeper into their core, something that can't be cured or removed. When breathing, they may taste rot or mold. It may even appear like the black marks or sores are spreading as if everything is sinking deeper into them. Players may choose to have their senshi have any psychological effects if they have issues related to bugs or things of that nature. There is the sensation of mild damage this time on the skin or if the contact point is in the mouth, then it can potentially go a bit further back down the throat. But otherwise, anything deeper would not be due to the magic but standard physical contact. When the magic fades, players may choose to take lasting damage or retain a lingering grey or black taint/color on their skin, similar to mold or sores from an infection, at the contact point for a short while after the battle. Players may also choose to have this damage scar. Range: 15 feet Time: 30 seconds Uses: 2 Per battle

...It was really disconcerting how screamy some people were on what would otherwise be a relatively pleasant night. Rakovanite looked from the (obviously disturbed) Senshi to the uncommonly large frog that had leaped from the water. And while it definitely wasn't unheard of for unusual creatures to suddenly take up residence in otherwise innocuous spots at this time of year, this creature at least seemed to look right at home here? It was being disruptive to the natural order, sure, but they probably wouldn't call such things 'supernatural' if they didn't? Rakovanite felt like anyone should see these massive lilypads and know that anything out of place in this city was unlikely to be benevolent. He quirked his head, rose a brow as the Dark Mirror Senshi jerked away from him and tried to set distance between himself and Rakovanite and the creature. "Perhaps I misunderstand... Do you generally allow strangers to sit peacefully in your home without doing something about it...?" The Senshi didn't know why it was after him, but once he was close enough to see the situation unfold, Rakovanite thought he had a pretty good idea of the picture. And it helped that if he kept a suitable distance, the frog did not seem as interested in him as it was in battling the Senshi who'd come too close. "I would offer to help you evacuate, however..." However, Rakovanite did not want to poison himself with whatever vile haze was coming off of the Senshi.

For a second, he just stared at them. "I wasn't even in the water? I was just sitting here for a second." It wasn't like he'd disturbed anything; he hadn't even seen the water move when he'd sat near the edge of it. Looking back towards the frog as he heard another wet slap as it hopped closer, he took another step back away from both the frog and the general. It seemed like they weren't going to get close enough to him, something that made him feel less anxious in the moment. "Help by distracting it?" Though he didn't wait for a response, he took the chance to start bolting away from them both. Putting distance between the water, the frog, and the general, he only looked back a few times as he made his way away and towards a mirror. It was a few blocks from here, but he didn't want them to find it, so he'd take a roundabout way, if they even followed him.
