Noir Songbird
Skyfall (12) : Giant walls of clouds hover low above Destiny City, as if weighed down by the immense amount of water they are carrying. The air is cool, electric, and ominous, churning more like the ocean than the sky. And then, the clouds seem to collapse under their own weight. Dark masses spill from the sky in great, twisting columns of mist, stretching down towards the streets below. They descend like hands stretching from the heavens, enormous enough to swallow half a city block. Anyone caught within the descending clouds will find themselves surrounded by a frigid mist and powerful winds pushing down upon them. Visibility drops to almost nothing. The clouds spill over you, around you, like a waterfall, tugging at clothes and disrupting all sense of direction. Most people stumble out cold, soaked, and disoriented--and, sometimes, they don't even come out at the same place they went in. More than once, someone has disappeared in the cloud, only to wind up across town. Within minutes, the cloud pillars shrink, twisting like dying tornadoes, and drift back into the sky as though nothing happened at all.

Storm had been watching the radars and finally decided to take a stroll out tonight. The clouds were weird, they didn't show anywhere on anything he was tracking. So the dark mirror was curious about what was happening with the weather as he hummed walking through the empty streets. It looked like the clouds had made a lot of people decide to stay inside.

He'd heard some reports of just a deluge that hits once the clouds start to churn like the sea. So he was hoping that the fact he was powered up would save him a little bit if it did just start to pour for no reason. But from every aspect of what he knew of weather tracking, the atmosphere was not right for rain.

He looked curiously around as he felt the blip of an order aura. He hoped in some way they were friendly, he didn't want to spend too much time fighting while trying to figure out this weird weather pattern.

The strange clouds hung in the air again. Jörmungandr was distinctly not excited about the prospect of getting dumped on a second time--he could enjoy rainy weather all he liked, but the preferable place to enjoy it was inside, with a warm cup of xiosuka and something with which to distract oneself. A book, intelligence on an upcoming job, tourist brochures from some planet or other. Anything but being out in it when he knew it was going to mean having to deal with cleaning up afterwards.

Alas, he'd gone for a walk, and even been lucky enough to find a pretty little sapphire star charm on the way, and before he knew it, he was looking at the same ominous sky that had previously left him shivering and wet.

Worse, there was Chaos lurking. He could feel it, poisonous and awful, and its very presence raised his hackles and thinned his temper as he stormed towards the disgusting, vile feeling.

This was not the same as the officers of the Negaverse. Murikabushi had mentioned a "Dark Mirror" that he supposed this might be--he thought he could see a peek of transparent overlay--and on other occasions, deference to his host might have stayed Jörmungandr's hand. Not tonight, when he was already keyed up in anticipation of being caught in awful weather and sott of inclined to take it out on somebody.

"Voracious Consumption," he said, letting his magic fly. Let the Chaos rat justify their own existence, if they were so inclined. Jörmungandr didn't care.

Quote:
Sailor Scout Attack: Voracious Consumption!
Jörmungandr speaks the name of his attack, and targets within a ten-foot radius will feel a heavy pressure, as if they are wrapped in the coils of a great serpent; they will then be filled with a sudden voracity, as if something inside them has been scooped out and replaced with a hunger that cannot be filled. This hunger will swell and become all-consuming, until all they can think about is the need to devour, and the weight of the serpent will grow heavier and more claustrophobic, creating a pressure that can result in lasting minor bruises at player discretion. This need lasts for 25 seconds, and Jörmungandr can use this attack three times per battle.

Anddd just like that his evening of trying to figure out what caused the clouds and possible incoming rain when nothing showed on the radar as anything worth producing anything went from quite to a battle.

Storm was just about to wave to the Deep Space senshi when they hit him with some sort of crazy magic that made him extremely hungry. Now he could go for a poke bowl and some spam and maybe a pineapple dole whip. He was also thinking he could go for a teriyaki burger and sushi.... He also noticed a feeling like he was being wrapped by something -- a snake? He tried to move and muttered when he realized that whatever it was - was pretty constricting.

He was totally drooling at the thought of food as he tried to fight the weight of the serpent, and after a bit he stopped and as if a lightbulb went off he figured he might need to use his attack.... "Venting Shock!"

He was also debating where would be the best place to order food that would have poke bowls, sushi, and teriyaki burgers..... hoping that the volcanic vents and spark lightning would distract the senshi attacking him.

Quote:
tab Super Sailor Scout Attack: Venting Shock
When Storm calls out his attack this causes vents to open in the earth much like volcanic vents in a five foot radius around him, the tallest clouds reach a maximum of seven foot, but become less dense the higher up. From within those vents** small particles of ash and dust swell and swirl upwards in flurries causing small electric storms that can shock or strike* (depending on cloud size and intensity) anyone within range of the clouds or inside of the clouds. This is fairly easy to dodge as long as the people caught up in the affected area are aware of their surroundings. This attack can last up to twenty seconds and be used twice but it has a thirty second recharge.

    * If there are strikes caused by the storm the distance they can cover is up to a foot from their origin point, as long as it's inside the five foot radius of the attack. There could be up to two full strikes in the twenty seconds.
** The vents can be trip hazards. There's no real damage from the vents themselves; but the static/electric charge is at it's highest level's here.

Ah, s**t. As soon as the other Senshi's magic lit up around his feet, Jörmungandr realized that he might have made a very grievous error engaging in a fight here. For one, he was fairly certain the other Senshi was probably stronger than him, and for another, he'd gone into a fight with an unknown enemy not able to prepare for whatever magic they might pull out. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

The air was clouding with smoke and ash, and Jörmungandr started to cough, stumbling backwards in time to feel a sharp shock on his shoulder that made him wince. Whatever this Senshi's magic was, it was clearly quite dangerous.

Worse, as he tried to steady himself and felt another sharp shock on his back, the clouds that had ominously been hovering above them broke.

Jörmungandr stilled, which meant staying and enduring whatever magic was still striking him--but trying to stumble around when he couldn't see anything at all seemed like a foolish idea. There was no reason to risk getting lost in all of this mess--better to simply wait out whatever was going to happen to him.

A little pain and cold, after all, was hardly anything at all. He'd endured far worse over the centuries, and if his previous experience held, none of this would last particularly long. He just had to stand firm, wait it out, and hope that this storm didn't somehow make the magic the other Senshi was using more potent or some nonsense like that.

When the deep space senshi's magic stopped, for the most part, Storm was still hungry and pretty sure he was going to have bruises from the constrictor snake. Which was going to be annoying because he was pretty sure he had a fire dancer gig coming up before the bruises would be gone so he was going to have to do some make up magic to hide them.

But he stood there looking towards the senshi who attacked him first, guarded but not particularly interested in engaging more than he had to. He'd let his magic die down and actually -- he hoped it wouldn't fuel the atmosphere more now that he thought about it, because he didn't really want to super charge whatever magical nonsense had caused the weather he'd planned on investigating.

"So, Brother. Do you want to call a truce?" The dark mirror asked, still debating on dropping an uber order and maybe offering food to the attacker because after being that hungry - he wondered if the other was maybe hangry the reason they started attacking him first. It would be reasonable conclusion with that sort of attack right???

Well. At least he wasn't being kicked while he was down, Jörmungandr supposed. That was fair enough. He'd launched himself into a fight he clearly wasn't prepared for, and now he was paying the (wet, irritating) price.

He shivered, a little, looking every inch the displeased wet cat in spite of his draconic features.

"Fine, truce," he said, though he wasn't inclined to linger long. "But I'm no brother of yours." Perhaps it was a figure of speech. Perhaps the people of Earth were more casual with such familial bonds. Jörmungandr was not, particularly when it came to those who served Chaos.

If they were calling it that way, perhaps he could find an easy way to leave.

The rain was making things a bit harder and Storm sighed, as his hair started sticking as well as he tried to move his hair out of the way, ".... right, well do you want food? Because dangit you made me hungry. I'll uber something in."

He said, as the rain was getting harder, "Also, there's a store that's closed over here that has an over hang we can wait out this storm." He added as he motioned hoping they could get out of the rain before it got too bad.

"Unless your hair is magically immune to whatever rain and humidity does" He added.

Jörmungandr shook his head. "The weather will pass quickly enough. I've been caught in this before; it's gone as swift as it starts." He was not particularly interested in parley with Chaos, all things considered--better to simply crush them under heel and let it be done.

"And I'm not particularly hungry. Tend to yourself." It was as close as he was inclined to get to compassion for the enemy. Generally, Jörmungandr wanted nothing to do with even the idea--after what Chaos had done to his home, he harbored little space in his heart to be kind to those who served it.

He waved a hand.

"Be off. It's to your benefit that the weather makes me disinclined to keep fighting."

Storm looked curiously at the deep space senshi who said the weather would pass quickly enough and that he'd been caught in it before. The Dark mirror sighed and shrugged softly, "Suit yourself, I guess. I would like to know more about this rain but."

He started to walk off and paused, "By the way I'm Storm." He added giving the other his name, "I like your hair and tail by the way."

He then noticed a violet star charm sitting on a window sill as he passed it and picked it up as he walked past the deep space senshi to go to a local Ramen place he hoped was still open. "Have a good night then."

He wasn't about to try to continue to poke the grumpy guy but it disappointed him a bit that he didn't get to properly talk to the guy but oh well can't win them all.
