It was a lovely Sunday morning, and Sundae was staring at one of the men outside who was cutting the grass. Her tail swayed slowly, back and forth and her eyes remained focused on the man, pupils pinpricks in the bright sun of the morning.
Something was strange today, and she wasn’t sure what it was, couldn’t quite put her paw on the source, but regardless, the man was doing a good job, she supposed. The mower was one that you could ride on, and there he went, back and forth, back and forth.
Rather soothing…
If you were into that kind of thing.
Her eyes narrowed as the lawnman came closer, the noise of the mower growing almost painfully loud and she opened her mouth, going to give him a stern ekekeke, and instead huffed an unamused sigh. “You’re being too loud!”
Oh. That was new. That…those were words, and…
Hm.
Suddenly, the noisy mower outside wasn’t…quite so…
She stretched as she jumped off of the windowsill and made her way to where Istas was, moving to rub against the girl’s leg before sitting and looking up at her. “....Something’s. Happened.”

Istas had been reading a new book she'd picked up, a chapter book about stuffed animals piloting a spaceship and some sort of dystopian theme trying to find their owners. As she would normally, sitting on the balcony with Sundae.
The voice caught her attention but she brushed it off as one of the neighbors probably just being cranky, it was Sunday after all and no one really particularly enjoyed loud laborious noises on a lazy Sunday morning.
However, something odder happened, Sundae was rubbing up against her leg and she heard the voice again, 'something's happened'. She looked down towards her cat and was about to question what happened when she noticed there was a star on her forehead that hadn't been there before.
She closed her book and looked closely at Sundae, "You don't say?" She said and it wasn't quite her normal way of addressing the cat and speaking to her, "What do you think has happened?" There was a soft smile as she picked up the mauvin and sat her down. Adjusting her little hat before getting a better look at the star marking upon her head.

“Oh I’m really not sure, but I went to go and–” Sundae broke off, allowing herself to be scooped up and then demonstrating a perfect ekekeke, before blinking. “I did it fine just then, but when I tried just before this, I spoke! Words!”
…And she was…still speaking words. Human words. And Istas was speaking back to her, and not in the normal tone and this.
“Are you understanding me? Normally you would have meowed back, but I don’t think I’m actually meowing…I don’t know what is going on at all. Do you?”
Istas knew many things, obviously. Made wonderful food and took very good care of her.

Istas listened to Sundae, her smile never faltered as the cat spoke. She also never thought the cat she'd found randomly on the street in the snow would've been a mauvian either though.
She listened as the cat was speaking and figuring out things, when she said she spoke words there was a giggle, "Yes, I do understand you."
She rubbed Sundae's back, softly as she was trying to keep the cat calm, "Well of course, you're a Mauvian. You apparently just were needed to wake up now, instead of before now."
She hummed softly as she looked at the cat.

“Huh.” Sundae began to purr with the petting, her eyes half closing. “Mauvian. That means something doesn’t it? I feel like maybe I should know what it means, but I don’t.”
She was quiet, still purring and then paused, the purring stopped. “Wait. How do you know what I am?” Obviously, Istas knew everything, and really…this proved it. Sure she wasn’t the home where Sundae had first lived, but that was so long ago, she didn’t remember much. For the last several months…which were a lot in a young cat’s life, it was only Istas.
“Do you really just know everything? I knew you were smart, I knew you were amazing but…wow.”

Istas paused when Sundae said it was suppose to mean something, "Well yes, you're suppose to help senshi."
Istas paused for a moment before chuckling, "Oh, because I've been a senshi for quite a while... since I was a kid, I started as a Chibi. And I've talked to plenty of Mauvians."
There was a headshake when Sundae asked if she knew everything, "Ahah, I don't know everything sweetheart, I just know what I've experienced."
She seemed thoughtful. "Oh, also be mindful who you talk around. Non-powered people will freak out if they hear a cat speak." She seemed to think, "Like my sister Dyani." Istas was glad her little sister wasn't here for this, it'd probably cause a bit of chaos.

“Well…” Sundae was trying to take it all in, to really understand what was going on, what Istas meant…Senshi? Yeah. That sounded like something she should know about. Senshi. It sounded impressive.
“Will I know? How will I know who I can talk to or not?” What if Istas hadn’t been a Senshi…was this a fluke? Was this something that was meant to happen?
“Why could I not talk before? What do you think caused this? What if you hadn’t been a Senshi? Did you know this about me when you brought me in?” Had Istas set this up? That was a nice idea. And it would explain a lot.
“Do you know what I’m supposed to do? What’s a Chibi?”

There were certainly a lot of questions as Sundae seemed to want to try and work out things, Istas was thinking on how to answer and was biting the inside of lip while trying to compose thoughts on how to best answer the cat.
"So, you probably have a way to tell, usually powered up at least I know you can sense the different sorts of factions. Order, Negaverse, Dark Moon have different feels. So do youma. In cat form you have a different signature feeling than when you get to turn into a human form...."
She hummed thinking, "As far as knowing who you can talk to, it'll probably come with time, if they're powered up they're safe. Humans --- I'd just fake meowing at them to be safe." She paused. "Granted I'll let you know if anyone comes over who you can speak to if I have people over."
Of course hard questions were always something Istas struggled with answering, "I don't know why you couldn't talk before, beyond the fact you were a normal cat." She touched the cat's forehead. "You have a star marking now which is common of Mauvians and you didn't have that before, I assume the cauldron decided it was time."
What if she hadn't been a senshi? "Well... I don't know if I hadn't been a senshi. Someone probably would've thought they'd gotten bad drugs or something?" She shrugged, there wasn't a really good answer for that. "Ahah and no I had no way of telling you were going to be a Mauvian. Since you didn't have the star marking. I'm just not letting anyone sit out in the cold and freeze."
Istas was rubbing Sundae's back again, "What you're suppose to do?" She paused thinking, "Well, what I know of Guardian cats they awaken and upgrade senshi. I believe also the cats are typically suppose to be guides to help senshi along with their growth too."
There was a moment when Sundae asked what a chibi was, "Well a Chibi is a senshi who's younger than thirteen, I'm not sure what the youngest age is they can awaken." She pondered, "I was a chibi senshi. I do know -- there's a lot of people who are against children being awaken -- but sometimes there's a need for it. I try to support the kids because I know how hard it can be to be a chibi senshi."
