Another night, another patrol. She had been wandering the blocks for a bit before finally settling on sitting on the roof of a building overlooking a river. Andromeda sat down gracefully, her legs dangling over the edge. To think, she likely wouldn't have considered doing something this dangerous like scaling a building and sitting on the roof like this if she didn't have the assurance that she would be fine if she fell. A Negaverse agent wanting to fix things and have a genuine conversation. How weird. She knew she was far from knowing everything about their conflict, but it was times like that when Andromeda couldn't help but feel it. She was new to this, and everyone around her had been doing this for so long. It was difficult not to feel a little inferior, like she needed to catch up on things. She slouched a bit as she looked out toward the nighttime skyline, watching cars drive the streets, people walking in small groups to or from wherever they were headed to for the night. None of them had any idea. Or maybe some of them did. How many people down there were a fellow senshi just not powered up tonight? Or an agent of the negaverse or chaos or that dark mirror guy. Her head tipped to one side as she watched the city below. What are you after?Find a way to get us all to just ******** coexist with each other instead of fighting all the time. You’re a little old for this s**t, aren’t you?Hm. Her lips twisted and her brow furrowed. She could train to be a better fighter all she wanted, but she didn't really understand what she was doing this all for. It just felt like she was missing a few chapters.

It was a good night to check up on things, like friends, youma hotspots, her senshi, and Kay's refrigerator. It was kind of cute that a knight was trying to pretend he had his own Mauvian with that useless bit of fluff and bone he'd gotten from somewhere. Cute and pathetic, proving that first impressions really could get to the core of some people. Strutting down the street with a chunk of cheese in her mouth, Creedence paused and noted that a basic signature had been staying still for awhile now. Were they slacking? Or... It took a few leaps to get her there, and she was pretty pleased to see it was one of her senshi that was brooding on the rooftop. She opened her mouth to talk, started to choke on her cheese a little, started to try to quickly eat it until she remembered that subspace was a thing that existed and banished it into the Shadow Realm for later. Clearing her throat, the Mauvian started again, "Hey! Do you like, need a pep talk?"

Hm? Andromeda looked around a bit as she felt someone coming closer. It didn't feel threatening, but who was it? As it came closer and closer, Andromeda looked over her shoulder to see--ope! Choking cat! Not good! Her eyes widened as she began to rise up to stand, stopping partway when Creedence saved herself from her own problem and sitting back down again. She brought her legs up to sit crisscross, her hands grasping her shin as she gently swayed side to side.
Oh. Creedence was pretty direct, huh? She blinked, looking somewhat taken aback at first until she smiled. "Actually, probably. It's been... a weird week." She hummed. "Or, I dunno, maybe less pep talk and more... I feel... behind? It's weird to explain. I feel like there's more that I should know, or be doing, but I don't yet because I haven't been doing this for half my life like everyone else I've met."

Creedence started to move close, but then stopped, looked around, then jumped up to sit on an electrical box. If she was going to impart wisdom, it's way better for the other person to have to look up at her instead of the other way around. "Look at this way, most of them are still doing the same thing as they were half their life ago. Maybe they were like, wimps and whiners about it, and got better? But the work itself hasn't changed." At least from what she'd learned. It's not like she was there with the vets back when they were sprouts. "But that's just stronger to weaker. It's not like...there's something to be behind on for us. Quotas and stuff are for the evil magical military." Just in case Andromeda too that in some sort of it's okay to be weak message, Creedence added, "So like, just train the hell up."

As Creedence hopped up on the box Andromeda turned to face her better without straining herself, one leg now hanging off the roof and the other still folded under herself. She didn't seem to have any complaints. It made sense, really. She wasn't a cat? But she looked like a cat. And cats liked to be up high. "So basically they're just in their little cycles and routines," Andromeda said with a tilt of her head. Still, they definitely knew what they were doing and why a lot better than she did, right?
"Do they really have quotas? I..." Her brow furrowed a moment. "I met one the other night. Call themselves Vesuvianite. Like, showed up.. tossed their weapon aside. Started asking me questions. Said he wanted to 'know why all of this was happening' so he could try and fix it, or at least figure out a way for everyone to co-exist. I've, like, not seen someone like that yet? Is that normal? They didn't seem like they were trying to lure me into anything. But they were also the first one to not just go haHA and say some stupid one-liner and attack me." Should she mention yet they asked to see Andromeda? Maybe not yet. Should probably guage Creedence's reaction to even meeting him first. And entertaining a conversation. Would she be in trouble? It just didn't really make sense to fight someone who wasn't fighting back.
"And I have been training! A lot! I swear! I've been meeting up with a couple of the others to learn to fight and everything. But, like, I feel like... I feel like there's a lot I just don't know. Like, all of our homeworlds. Why are they all destroyed? You said there were like explosions and stuff, but why? And why is any of this even happening? What are we doing it for? Are we just like... a maintenance crew? Are we just destined to sweep up messes forever?" There was a pause then, and she waved a hand. "I'm not like questioning like.. this isn't like second guessing. I'm just. I dunno. A friend of mine asked me the other day what I want, and how I've been settling in to my return to Destiny City, and it was kinda like. He has no idea, right? What my days have been like. I just have to tell him work is keeping me so busy, when really it's... all this." She gestured around herself at the city at large. "Why, you know?"

Oh she'd been chatting and laughing along with the enemy, huh? Well, if it came up, Creedence would talk up Andromeda's charisma stat and call it diplomacy with the intent to purify. And maybe it even was! "They're people...well, some are monsters that used to be people? But they still have people brains, even if there's chaos worms inside those brains." Even Creedence didn't know how literally correct that was. "You're feeling unsure? They're gonna be feeling extra unsure, because they like, have to do things that feel bad to most people." She lashed her tail back and forth for a moment. "They might be rethinking their choice, maybe they'll decide to purify back into a normal people brain. That's like, a whole thing. But it can be done, and since you look like a soft healer class sort, they might come to you about it. But it goes both way so don't let them get into the starseed yoinking zone, or tempt you with their oh-so great healthcare program." The eyeroll was of the full-body variety. it sounded like Creedence really wouldn't have to worry about that, though. Andromeda was really taking some initiative with being a senshi. She'd probably be ready to go Super soon. "Chaos. Nobody knows why or how Chaos took down basically all other worlds. Not the ones who have been d oing this half their lives, not even the ones who were there a thousand years ago and somehow still stuck it out by themselves." Really, how were those guys not walking skeletons lined with jerky? "And no two that I've heard of so far have been the same. Some sudden, some taking hundreds of years to completely die off. There's like, a lot of mysteries and we don't even know if the lore actually matters anymore." Ugh, this sprout really had her ion the Exposition Zone, huh? Well, whatever, it was fine. Even if all she has was basically a big huge shrug of an explanation. "This is like, getting pretty existential. Do you have depression? Or is this an artist thing?" It was probably a newbie thing, and maybe also a veteran thing. Talking to the wrong oldbies could really infect a perfectly good mindset! "Look. No matter what happened before, tomorrow hasn't happened, yet. So that's the why of what you're doing every night." Slowly, she turned away and gazed up, knowing her form was perfectly silhouetted by the moon. "We are the second chance that's been given to this world. To all worlds." In her head, Creedence was silently deciding which theme music would be swelling in the background right now.

"Yeah, right? There was that one guy who was trying to talk s**t at me, and I was like you literally just killed someone. Like how do any of them think that's okay?" She looked incredulous at that. It was easy to remember the Wannabe Disney Villain Ilmari. And then there was that other guy with the wraith. "Purify?" Andromeda perked up a bit, looking curious now. "No, no. I kept room between us while we were talking. He even wanted to see Andromeda when I told him about it but I didn't think that would be a good idea right away. That's a bad idea, right? That's... that's my home. I shouldn't just be bringing people like that to it. But then if he's trying to like, not be a bad guy, maybe seeing what the side he's on has done to it could change his mind?" It wasn't the worst idea, or it could be. Even if he tried something, that was her homeworld, right? She had to have some home field advantage type s**t. Or maybe if he tried something he'd just be trapped there forever, because he needed her to even get there, yeah? Hmm..
So no one knew what happened. Suppose it made sense if it was so long ago. Andromeda nodded slowly, her gaze drifting off as she thought on Creedence's words. "So some of them... some of the senshi here today, were there before?" Her eyes suddenly widened a bit as she turned back to Creedence again. "Is it possible they'd know anything? Like, oh yeah I went to Andromeda once it was totally cool or something? Could they help me with figuring things out so I can rebuild my home again?" She was perked up again. She'd been doing all this on her own, but what if someone knew something that could help Andromeda fix things? Keep her promise?
At her question she relaxed again, shrugging a bit. "I don't think I have depression. I mean, not really? Not anymore? It's been this weird feeling of... when I was a kid, my parents died in this big crash. And it's one of those things I've always struggled to get over. And when I was younger, I'd have these... night terrors. And these panic attacks. And everyone just said it was grief or PTSD. But anytime I'd think back on it, or have nightmares about it, there's... there's always a cat." There was a pointed look to Creedence as she said this. "It doesn't do anything. It just stares at me. And then it's gone. And I'm taken to the hospital. And my parents are dead and I'm not. But then... all this happened.." Andromeda gestured to herself. "And I feel better? Like, whole. Like a part of me that was too big for me finally slotted into place. And it just makes me think that I'm supposed to be doing more with this. Does that make sense?"
No matter what happened before, tomorrow hasn't happened yet. A non-answer in a way, but not the worst. It kind of made sense. But she looked up again to watch Creedence look up and away, posing herself against the moon and the night sky like a video game cutscene.
Yeah, that tracked.
A second chance, huh?
"So, is there a chance that if we keep doing this.. we can fix it all? Like, if I find more Vesuvianites, I could talk them into not doing what they're doing anymore with time?"

"You should be able to take more people up at a time soon," Creedence was pretty sure, the longer she was near Andromeda. "Once you can bring more people, you can take...those others, with back-up." The cat spoke firmly, laying down the law. "And maybe like, take a look at your world with new eyes next time you're up there. If you had to fight up there, would you do it differently? Are there more ideal locations for a fight? Or for chilling and talking? Places they're more likely to be able to cause problems?" Of course, the world would kick anyone being a punk out, but Andromeda didn't need to know that. She wanted her girl paranoid, not comfy. "Maybe?" She sounded doubtful. "Most only seem able to be about their personal trauma and eating pizza or whatever." Creedence thought the lore was pretty cool, actually, but in like, a dusty old tome way. Not a cut scene that advances the plot way. "You could ask, though. The mopey dance guy when you awakened was one. All the really weird looking senshi are ancient survivors from other worlds." Sadly, none of them seemed willing or even able to play the role of Wise Elder. The cat went quiet as the girl explained her loss, and the different forms the aftermath turned her existence into. Creedence felt, for the first time in her life since awakening her herself, fully flustered and out of her depth. Not even her humans leaving her felt nearly as big and scary as what Andromeda presented, calmly, having clearly been through it, accepted it, and reached a better place. Eventually, she just cleared her throat, "You'll do more. Forsure. Yhere's a whole world riding on your shoulders, and helping out Earth too. But it's good you're not just settling for what's in easy reach?" Oh clawed, Creedence could sense the formation of an impending BIG GOAL in that question. Time to manage some expectations. "There is also what's basically an Eldritch Goddess and her avatar at the top of their hierarchy. So like, not fix it all. But yeah, you can make the problem smaller like that, and start to starve a b***h out."

Back up. Yes. Back up was a good idea. Maybe if she kept working at it, like Creedence said, she could even make it more hospitable. Andromeda's head was nodding slowly, thoughtfully. "Most of it is water and ruins right now. But there's an area that looks like a doorway that I think goes down. Not sure what's down there yet. So I guess for now it's just chilling and talking.." Maybe she could start bringing cushions and stuff to sit on. Not like she could carry a whole couch, but she could bring comfy things to sit on, right?
"...What is his name anyway? Do you know? I've never caught him introducing himself." She'd even straight up called him out on it, too. And he still didn't introduce himself! Maybe someday. But maybe she'd ask around. See if anyone knew anything useful.
A whole world and Earth riding on her shoulders. Andromeda's gaze turned upward, as if searching the stars. The internet said you could see Andromeda from Earth. She'd have to figure out where it was. It'd be nice to see it with her own eyes. "I made a promise to Andromeda that I'd make up for lost time and fix it," she explained to Creedence with a bright smile. "So, yeah. I'm not just gonna settle, I guess. But also yeah no I'm not about to reach up and try to punch a god in the face. That'd be suicide. I just thought, maybe if I find someone who doesn't immediately start fighting with me, I can attempt a conversation or something, you know? See if there's something there to work with. Like plucking petals off a flower."
