I've always wanted to make a web-comic, but I've been too busy, and well... just plain lazy.
but now i am re-inspired with this idea:
FF6-webcomic/rp
see, i'll start making comics (stating this summer)
and then you and other people can start RPing themselfs into the comic.
I'll then start making the comics with you in it as an active character!
I just ask that you give me a sprite sheet to work with.
Requirements:
your sprite should be about the same hight as my FF6 sprites. (i post a link later...)
preferably no simple re-colors (if possible. but acceptable)
before you start to post, i would apreceate it if you would ask me frist, incase i want the plot to move in a certain direction, and i think that you might cause a problem in the comic if i where to add you at that time.
other then that, enjoy it.
if you cant give me a sprite sheet, i can try and make you a sprite, but i'm not very good. perhaps you can ask someone else to make it for you...

prity much everything.
i have most of the main character sprites, but i could always use more.

This is a fascinating idea, and I may be interested in this. What precisely are you looking for in a character sprite sheet? Sprites of the type used in FFVI? I may be able to do that, given a bit of time. Also, what were you looking for in characters? Originals? I have a number that might be suited, but it depends entirely on what type of character you wanted AND on how powerful we're allowed to be.
If you want us to play FFVI characters, can I stake a claim on Gogo and (if no one else wants him and multiple characters are allowed) Setzer? They're my two favorite characters.

i havent really decied yet...
it still in the conseptual stages...
i havent really even worked out a plot yet... sweatdrop
i was thinking of just going on an alternate reality, that way i could do whatever the heck i wanted, without worry of FFVI plot continuity (sp)
and yah, that would work. have you heard of RPG Maker?
yah, I intend to use those sprites for most of the extras.
if not, when i find time to put up an example, i will.
as for characters, it's really up to you. if you want to be an already established character, that's fine. Multipule characters is ok, but in fareness, like you said, let other people be characters if you already have one and they want one. er... to say that better,
if you have gogo and setzer, and some one else wants to be gogo or setzer, please let them be that character. although, it's not something i'll enforce: if you want to be mean and hog the characters, i'll let you... unless i have to.
like i said, i havent really set anything in stone yet....
i havent even decided how many frames i'm going to use!

I have heard of RPG maker; in fact I've messed around with it a little and one of my friends is making a full-length game with it. I think he's a little distracted from it at the moment, but still...
Alternate reality sounds like a good idea. I'll see what I can do as far as spriting--I've only done a little, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it fairly quickly. I'd like to claim Gogo as sort of a "MINE hands off!" thing--my favorite character, doncha know--but if someone else wants Setzer, they can have him. Until then, I'll hold onto him. Okay?
Is it okay if I bring in one of my originals, too? His name is Kyrie Eleison. He's... mostly human. I can give you more details if you want. I'm sure I can sprite him myself, too.

heh, slow down. i havent even technicly started yet!
like i said, i'm not going to start untill summer
(college makes it hard to find time)
so i really only have vague concepts still...
though i think i've decided on an opening, but no definites yet!
Of course you can use your own characters.
if you can make a sprite that would be awsome, but if you cant... well maybe someone else can. (if i find time, i'll try too)
in the end, i'll decide on quality and whatnot (if i get multipules of the same thing).
so if the one i pick dosent qutie match the one you like, you can tell me and i'll eihter change it, or tell you why i'd rather keep it the way it is.
keep asking questions, and i'll keep awnsering them
your questions are really helping me decide on how i'm going to do things.

i'm rather easy going, i'm not all like 'NO YOU CANT DO THAT!!!!111' you could control half the cast for all i care, but in the intrest of fareness, i'd rather you not.
I want as many people want to join in as I can get, because that would inhance the experiance, and better shape the story.
part of the reason i decieded to do a web comic this way, is so that i wouldn't have to worry about comming up with story.
i could put out a general plot, and let otherpeople work together and shape it for me! I'm not lazy, i'm smart! xd
besides i think i'd be more fun if you could participate.

If you're looking for sprites, Fenrir's Sprite Domain is a great place. Here's a link to the FF6 section: Fenrir's Sprite Domain
They've got some great stuff, like backgrounds, monsters, objects, NPCs, and battle backdrops. I use it a lot when I make sprite movies/comics... wink

Okay, I'll take that as a request for advice (not that you need to follow it or anything...) Take a starting point, point A. The characters start there, at the beginning of the plot. Now figure out the end point, and what's going to happen then. Call it point B. The characters start at point A and end at point B. How they get from one to the other is up to them. Let the characters take over. If you actually want help on the story and writing and such, I can do that. I like to think I have a decent grasp of the characters, and I know for a fact that I can write well. All you have to do is ask.^^
