I actually ranked it lower than my previous least favorite L'arc album, Dune.

Some songs are good, but i really liked the others better. The only cd i I find to have more fav songs of mine would be
3rd Compilation The Best of L'Arc-en-Ciel 1998 -2000
As for album, im not soo sure since alot of the songs a like are scattered about a few here and there in every album.

Yeah tis an amazing album. Laruku rox no matter what! But some of the songs really were kinda boring in my opinion, like Ophelia. Im not a big fan of slower songs, but Jyojoushi was awesome!

I personally really like AWAKE and it's one of my favorites by them. A lot of people seem to find the slower songs on that album boring, but I really like My Dear and Ophelia. Well, I like slow songs in general...
My favorite songs from AWAKE: jojoushi and hoshizora.

Actually, when I first listened to it a few days before it was "released" (ror, I'm sure I wasn't the only one with it then) I almost dismissed it entirely as "yeah, listenable, nothing better than OK" until Ophelia. That was the first time L'Arc punched me in the face, and now I've given the album a few more listens, enjoy it as a whole.

I loved the cover and inside art of Awake; because I'm a graphic design whore. heart
Music wise however, I was severely disapointed, even though I loved the New World single. Most of the last 8ish songs kind of blurred together in my head and it was hard for me to tell where one stopped and the next started...
I think I'm a bigger fan of their older stuff (most overused phrase EVER in any music scene...). lol

I thought awake was better than smile, though it seems like Hyde is taking over the band and Yukihiro is getting left out (compostion wise). I still think they were better before their hiatus.

Though I have not been vastly disappointed with it, I think I might agree with you about the last couple of singles blurring together. Awake does have some great songs, but I think Real is still my favorite album.

It's an okay album. It's catchy, but seems lackluster at the same time.
Ophelia, however, it the only track on the album that really made a long-lasting impression on me. It's basically the only reason I still have the album on my computer.
