--Rules--
I. This is a LITERATE roleplay, I expect nothing less than literacy. This means that correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation must be used and no asterisks or dashes are to be used. There will be no l33t speak or chatspeak. All posts should be typed in the third person. II. All OOC is to be kept in ((blah blah)) or [blah blah] and before or after your posts only. Also, keep OOC to a minimum. If OOC is out of hand, I will create an OOC forum. III. All posts should at least be five sentences long. We dont need a complete story for one post, but the minimum is five well thought out sentences. In otherwords, one paragraph minimum for each post. IV. No Godmodding or killing off other characters without permission from the roleplayer and a notification for myself. V. PM all profiles to me with a roleplaying sample below your profile. If you want to play a premade character, please give me a reason of why you want to play that character and a roleplaying sample of how you would roleplay that character. VII. Do not post/roleplay within the thread until you are accepted. Once accepted, you should post asap. However, you CAN post/OOC only...until roleplay OFFICIALLY begins. VIII. If you are not able to post for some time, please send me a PM or a short OOC within the thread, otherwise you will be kicked out from the thread. Of course, you may return afterwards if I see fit. IX. NO CYBERING, Romance is allowed but please do not cyber. There is a fine line between cybering and having your characters become entranced in heat...dont cross that line. Also, there will be no discriminating characters regardless of anything including sexual preference. X. All roleplayers are expected to not abandon the thread! You must post at least within three days. Cursing is acceptable, just do not overdo it or Ill kill you. XI. No page stretching! If your appearance picture is larger than the posting space, PLEASE put it in URL form. XII. If you have any questions or suggestions, please PM me.

--Introduction and Story-- "Your own existence is the ultimate taboo." Those are the first words you hear upon entering the world of the living. That is the first sentence spoken to you individually upon moving even the slightest fraction of an inch. It is a sentence full of warning, of wisdom, and utter truth. Upon being born into the world, you were thrust into experimentations; for your birthing was nothing more than a miracle and damnation.
In the middle of the Pacific Ocean, lies an island called Pathos. Its origins are unknown and many do not know of it other than part of the government and other officials. The island's purpose is to host experimentations and other research secret to anyone else besides those directly involved with the research.
For years the island has flourished with many successful and unsuccessul experiments. Many are living chimeras, reptilian birds, and other beasts experimentally made. The most current are experiments made upon humans. Those experimentations consist of injecting bird DNA into the human systems and creating embryos with human and bird DNA intertwined. The results of cross-DNA has resulted horrifically. Some of the humans have died as a result, others mutated with whole and unwhole wings. The worst successful result would be of a man with metal-bladed wings.
The scientists residing on the tropical island inhabit a large underground research facility and allow both successful and unsuccessful 'lab-rats' to roam above ground. However, the experimental humans are not allowed on land for fear of escape. For safety precautions, the scientists surgically implanted electric nodes within the humans underneath their right shoulder blade. If the humans somehow find themself above ground and try to flee the area, an electric volt will erupt within their bodies, forcing a nearly immediate loss of consciousness and possibly death.--Life or Death-- Over the years, the scientists and other governmental officials have transported natural humans to be offered as test-subjects, both unwilling and willing. There are several untainted humans kept in a series of cages and cells within the facility, along with those already tainted and mutated humans. Their only chance of survival is to escape the facility and somehow the island, but the only way to escape the island would be to somehow destroy the controls for the electric nodes surgically implanted within them. It is your choice, allow yourself to slowly die upon continuous experiments or allow yourself to survive and escape the island altogether. --Note-- This is a modern day roleplay. Remember, your first post should have your character in a small, cramped barred cell. Across are other cells similar to your characters. In the cell is a small twin sized bed, a white sheet, small pillow, a sink, and small window. When picturing this, you should think jailcells and how they are lined up side by side. There are also cells across from them as well. When your character awakes, he/she will be alone in their cell. It will be only one character per cell.

--Profile Outlines--
We will be needing scientists, premades, and original characters. I will be lenient with the number of original tainted characters, although I would rather have more natural humans as original characters. Premades must be filled up before I can have four or more original characters. I will need at least two scientists, before allowing original human tainted test-subjects. Please follow these instructions. You are allowed to have more than one character.
-Scientist Profile Outline- There are no premade Scientist profiles, however I do need only one scientist who told the first tainted human experiments that their existence was a taboo.

--Premades--
Girls may roleplay as guys, guys may roleplay as girls All characters with picture appearances are not wearing clothing within picture. All test-subjects are wearing jeans and shirts of any design and color that you wish. If you wish them to wear something else, please make them steal the clothing.
Males Played by: (your username) Name: Gabriel Age: 4 years old upon creation, looks 21 Personal being: Created bird-human Sexuality: Bisexual Appearance:Gabriel Strengths/Weaknesses: Strengths: Can fly even with the burden of metal wings. His metal wings are razor sharp blades. Weaknesses: Cannot swim. His metal wings are razor sharp blades. Personality: Gabriel is a reclusive character though is the most mature of all the creations. He is kind yet most hostile towards the scientists. He does not allow others to touch him for all his living life, he had been touched and experimented on. Gabriel is a born leader. Brief Bio: Gabriel was the first ever created bird-human. His creation was a success, though he was burdened with metal wings. His own wings are razor sharp, even to himself. He was created from a human/bird DNA embryo and grew into a well developed man four years later. Of course, the embryo was made years before he was actually born, his heightened growth caused scientists to continue experimenting upon him, causing him to become resilient and kept under careful watch. Gabriel only wishes to end his torture and escape with others that wish to follow him. As he grew, he became close to Diego, the second born created and to Dominique, the first female created. He and Diego were used to compete against each other, but this only created a stronger trust bond. Other: He has a horizontal scar in the middle of his left eye caused by his own wing.
Played by: (your username) Name: Diego Age: 3 years old upon creation, looks 19 Personal being: Created bird-human Sexuality: Bisexual Appearance: Diego. He had one complete wing, the other is that of metal and bare bones connected with nails and bolts. Strengths/Weaknesses: Strengths: Can sense when other beings are nearby. Weaknesses: Tires easily when flying because of his wings. Personality: Diego is tempermental. He and Gabriel are fairly close, for they count each other as equals since they were the first borns. Diego is rather stubborn and doesnt listen to Gabriel as much as he should. He has a free-spirit and enjoys doing what he wants, regardless of consequences. Brief Bio: Diego was the second ever created bird-human. He and Gabriel grew together in competition, for the scientists enjoyed seeing the two work against each other. Of course, this only made them closer. Diego was created from a bird/human embryo and has developed into a well brought man. As he grew and competed against Gabriel, he noticed that he could sense where Gabriel was or any other being around him and use that to his advantage when need be. Diego resents the scientists, for his birthing was nothing more than a successful mistake. He hates the fact that he was not a natural creation and was merely an experiment. Other: Has a fascination with needles, though refuses to be injected with any more DNA.
Played by: (your username) Name: Vega Age: 2 1/2 years old upon creation, looks 17 Personal being: Created bird-human Sexuality: Straight Appearance:Vega Strengths/Weaknesses: Strengths: Can fly quickly and swim underwater. Weaknesses: Poor respiratory system, causes him to tire easily. Personality: Vega is a very calm male. Although only two and a half years old, Vega is nearly as mature as Gabriel. Vega respects Gabriel, for he was the first born, and Diego, for he was the second. He is a quiet boy, but thinks very logically. Brief Bio: Vega was the third male bird-human to be created. He was created from a human/bird embryo and developed much faster than the other two. Upon his birthing, Vega developed two equivalent and complete wings, much to Gabriel and Diego's unsatisfaction. The scientists however were glad with Vega's development and ordered him to be injected with more DNA. This only caused Vega to have a poor respiratory system and no further developments with his wings. Other: Vega is the only male bird-human creation to have two complete wings.
Females Played by: Trepidational_Tragedy Name: Dominique Age: 2, looks 19 Personal being: Created bird-human Sexuality: Straight Appearance:Dominique Strengths/Weaknesses: Strengths: Can heal herself with alarming speeds Weaknesses: Her third (middle) wing is vulnerable for it is hard to guard and protect Personality: Dominique's personality much resembles that of Gabriel. She is a natural leader and cares for her 'people'. She's a mature woman and has no feelings for the scientists and their experiments. She believes in what she believes in and wishes only to leave this forsaken island. Brief Bio: Dominique was the fourth born and first female to be created from the human/bird embryo. Amazingly, she was born with three complete wings much to everyone's amazement. Dominique had become close with Gabriel, for they were the first borns for each gender. They share similar interests of escaping the island for good and taking all those who can possibly leave. Dominique has a defiance streak, for she dislikes being tested upon anymore. Once the scientists had agreed on removing her third wing. In the middle of the procedure, Dominique woke and fleed the surgery table, healing her wing with immaculate speed, but was internally wounded from having her third wing partly removed. Other: Dominique is the only bird-human creation with three complete wings.
Played by: (your username) Name: Laken Age: 2 years old upon creation, looks 17 Personal being: Created bird-human Sexuality: Straight Appearance:Laken Strengths/Weaknesses: Strengths: Can use her wings to cling onto bars, branches, etc. Weaknesses: Her wings are incredibly thin and easy to tear. Personality: Laken's personality is equivalent to Diego's. She is easy to anger and is quite defiant. She enjoys causing trouble for the scientists as much as possible and only wishes to leave as soon as possible and in anyway. Laken can act quite childish at times, but she respects all those older than her except Diego. Laken enjoys messing with Diego and testing his patience. Brief Bio: Laken was the fifth creation to be successfully made. Her birthing had caused her to be born with two perfect leathery wings, that of which closely resemble a bat. Of course, the membrane wings are incredibly thin and easy to tear, causing her at a disadvantage when fighting against the other creations or other experiments. She was created from a human/bird embryo, just as the others, yet rumor has it that she was also injected with bat DNA. This little rumor could be nothing more than a ruse or the truth of her wing history. Other: Laken is the only creation with leathery wings. Her successful birthing puzzles many scientists on her survival, yet she is able to fly easily.
Played by: (your username) Name: Faithyn Age: 1 years old, looks 16 Personal being: Created bird-human Sexuality: Bisexual Appearance:Faithyn Strengths/Weaknesses: Strengths: Her laugh can cause natural humans to fall asleep. Weaknesses: Prone to overheating and passing out. Personality: Faithyn is much like Vega. She is entirely respectable to all the other creations, for they were born before her and she is the sixth born creation. Faithyn is quiet, but has a strange sense of humor. Even the slightest joke can make her laugh. Brief Bio: Faithyn is the sixth bird-human creations to be made. She is the youngest of the first six and kind of heart. Faithyn was created from a human/bird embryo just as the other five, but her growth was increased at an alarming speed, causing her to be prone to passing out. This was counted as a large weakness amongst the scientists when comparing Faithyn to the other five. Thus, the scientists do not count her as a special subject, but yet just another winged creature - as obsolete as birds. Other: Faithyn has an adoration of birthmarks that resemble tattoos. No one understands how she obtained them, though scientists theorize that they were a part of the human/bird DNA intertwinement.

Dominique awoke. Groaning as sleep slipped from her mind and body, the woman swung her legs over the side of the small twin-sized bed. The cell was small and dank, the light had a dreary feeling to it for it was dim within the entire hallway full of cells. Waking to that sight every morning became a regularity and downright depressing. However, Dominique was needed to be strong for she was the first born female, just as Gabriel was the first born male. It was their job to be strong leaders for everyone...as much as possible.
Stretching, Dominique rose from her bed and hovered above the cold concrete floor. Three wings pertruded from her back, all underneath and between her shoulderblades. As far as she knew and understood, Dominique was the only three-winged creation. A brief smile found itself on her face as she wondered if Gabriel was at all jealous for it.

Hovering within the confines of her cell, Dominique looked out of the small window. It was only the size of her face and neck, but it was large enough for Dominique. The sun shone from the cramped space, relieving the girl with sun to bask in. The heat radiating from those few rays of sunshine felt wonderful and warmed Dominique's body from head to toes. It was a comforting and welcoming feeling.
Dropping down to the floor with silent feet, Dominique slipped her shoes on. They were simple, black boots. Grinning, she remembered how she had obtained these. She had refused to participate in anything until she at least got suitable shoes. Boots was her reward, one that she gladly took. The winged human ran her fingers through her long, curly, brown hair. It fell a few inches from her waist and was quite manageable.
A guard passed by her cell and dropped a tray of food on the floor. She sighed and picked the tray up and began eating the food slowly. The taste was rather bland, but filling. She shrugged. Food was food.

Vega pulled himself from the water and sat down on the concrete, breathing somewhat heavily. He was a great swimmer and enjoyed it for the death of him, but his damn lungs would always be a hindrance. He shrugged the thoughts away and stood, shaking out his wings to help the drying process.
At least they let me swim, he thought. A minor pleasure for our onetrack lives. Vega's thoughts were cut off this time by a scientist come to usher him away and back to the cells. He went willingly.
The only demand Vega had ever made was that he be allowed to swim whenever he pleased. They agreed on the terms that he could so long as it did not interrupt previously arranged plans. It was the best he could get, and plenty of breathing room if one thought about, so Vega gladly had accepted.
When Vega arrived at his cell, his hair was still somewhat damp, as was the rest of him, and food had just recently arrived. He stepped into the cell and listened to the door clang shut behind him before he spun around and seated himself on the floor for his meal.
