CZ Gallant, Bravo Company; A Literate Special Forces Roleplay
Profile Status: Accepting profiles. Setting This role-play is set in the unique city of Haven, in a world distant from our own in both time and situation. Cataclysm has consumed the planet, leaving much of it in ruin. Across this devastated world dwell great megalopolis cities that allow people to live a little while longer while the planet dies beneath them. Haven is not the best city, nor is it the worst, considering the situation of the planet.
This roleplay asks you to take up the mantle of the Haven Guard, the brave protectors of the city against the crime lords and chaos of the ruined world, in a Special Forces team formed of the best people (not necessarily best officers, but caliber of people) that can be gathered together. The squad will be led and directed by my own character, Honor Sergeant Price, and will receive "missions" from the same character, which will consist of roleplaying through a mission engagement.
During downtime, players are free to have their characters learn, interact, practice, explore the city, seek out new weapons and gear, and so forth. Extensive (perhaps too extensive) supplemental material has been provided at the bottom of the preparation posts. This RP isnt just about operations; the interaction between players is just as important, if not more.Overview You are a low-rank civil protection officer in the Central Upper City offices. You achieved your current rank because you are fresh out of training, or because you were demoted for some reason (Chief reasons for demotion: Misuse of authority, failure to complete a mission, failure to follow orders, reckless endangerment of a civilian; get creative). You are authorized only for the use of Haven Guard handguns, melee weapons, and stun weaponry until a ranking officer (Sergeant or higher) approves you as ready for using larger weaponry.
For some reason or another, upon your arrival, you were placed in a small, contained room with no windows and only one door, with a colorless steel table and a handful of metal chairs. You were sent here with a handful of other recruits, and all you can do now is wonder exactly what is in store for you
Your Haven Guard uniform is a black, Kevlar padded jumpsuit. You may choose a color with which to line the suit, and, if you desire, a personal logo to emblazon on it. You will be issued the standard Haven Guard weapons unless otherwise stated in your profile. Bear in mind, not all Haven Guard need be combat operatives. Hackers, medics, and so on are also welcome.
Joined late? You will begin inside the team HQ once they get there.

Rules
- Obey all Gaian ToS. - LITERACY! Thank you. - No god-modding or player killing. - PM all profiles and await an approval message before beginning play. - Romance is allowed, but bear in mind, if it starts to infringe upon your character's duties there can be RP consequences. - Don't get so heavy into your love scenes that I might have to step in and bring down the censorship bat. I love the images too, but seriously, keep it to PMs and IMs. We're here for a story, not cybersex. You will recieve only ONE warning. Further violation is an instant ban. - You may have more than one character. - More rules may surface as needed. - Feel free to ask questions! Its what Im here for!Q & A
Question: Who plays the allies if we want to talk to them? Answer: Doorman.
Question: Can we play a non-combatant? Answer: By all means. Just because someone went through training to become an officer does not mean they passed everything with flying colors. There's always room for less combat oriented soldiers!
More questions as they come. Character Template
Gaia Name: Your name on Gaia. If you have trouble finding it, look for the black text above your avatar picture. Those letters there? That's it. Name: Your characters name. Callsign (optional): Your characters military nickname. If this is left blank, your team is allowed to assign you one, which you may or may not like. Sexuality: Sexual preference, be it heterosexual, bisexual, seme / uke / flex, or even non-sexual. Age: All characters are human, so be reasonable. Reasonable in my mind is 16-50. Appearance: You must supply me with a detailed description of your character (at least a sentence or two with hair, eye, and skin color, as well as their own variation of the Haven Guard uniform) A picture is not required here, so dont stress. Personality: How your character acts, thinks, and so forth, including but not limited to fears, likes, dislikes, and so on. Bio: What your character has done up until this point in their life. Notable Achievements: Has your character accomplished anything notable during service? None is an acceptable answer, especially if youre a new recruit. Preferred Firearm: Everyone has one. I dont need it down to the specific type (though its allowed), simply the weapon the character wants to be issued. (Not necessarily what they will GET!) You can have anything reasonable, not restircted to any specific list, though I reserve the right to ask you to come up with a different one (No low ranking officer would have been trained with experimental laser pistols, for instance!) Field of Expertise: Something youre good at, be it hacking, lock picking, negotiations, stealth, sharp shooting, running, etc. Other: Anything else that doesnt fit above.
Here it is again, blank for your convienience.Gaia Name: Name: Callsign: Sexuality: Age: Appearance: Personality: Bio: Notable Achievements: Preferred Firearm: Field of Expertise: Other:

Squad RosterGaia Name: Doorman Name: Honor Sergeant Coen Price Callsign: "Rag Man" Sexuality: Homosexual; seme. Age: 35 Appearance: Coen Price is a well built man, like most combat operatives of the Haven guard, just over six feet, with smooth, chocolate brown hair that seems always slightly mussed from his helmet. A day or two of stubble lines his face and jaw, and he has a weary, but friendly smile that goes well with his brown eyes. Sergeant Price wears the typical black kevlar and plastic riot armor that is standard issue to all Haven Guard. His boots are heavily scuffed and worn, and his gloves seem about to fall apart on his hands from the number of patchwork repairs preformed on them. He has adorned his armor with scraps of ragged cloth and wears a similarly ragged cloth "cape", so that he can lie prone in the alleyways of the city and seem to be nothing more than a pile of cloth scraps, or wrap himself in the cape and pretend to be a vagrant. Personality: Coen is fixated intently on the "honor" of combat. He will never, for instance, shoot an unarmed or bound man, and is very charitable to those in need. He seems constantly tired, as though he missed an hour of sleep, but does not drag his feet, and tries to smile often when his helmet is off. When armored, however, he changes into a strong standing, commanding individual with a tremendous respect and compassion for everyone in his squad. He tries his hardest to be friends with his subsidiaries in some way or another. Bio: Coen Price joined the Haven Guard Cadets of Lower Sector A when he was twelve. He was trained like all other cadets, but he held a strong loyalty to the Haven government and its people. He studied the philosophy and concept of honor more than once in his off time, and became rapidly fixated with it. His dream became to earn the title of "Honor Sergeant", a position given only to those who placed the good of their squad and the city before their own. After ten years of training and service, he was given the title after rallying four routed patrols and leading a military-style offensive into a criminal hideout, arresting thirty and killing five known dangerous criminals. He continued his successful career, forming strong bonds with his varying subsidiaries and squad mates, until Operation CZ Gallant took place, when he was 25 ((See "Previous Operations"; use the "find" function on your browser to get there faster)). When that occured, he went into hiding for many years, until Operation DE Echo restored Haven Guard control over the Upper City. When that happened, he started buying and stealing information on Haven Guard he could easily spirit away for formation into a new CZ Gallant Bravo Patrol. Price recognized that while the city was free of the crime lords visible hold, he knew they still had a strong hand int he city. He vowed that his unit would never be exposed by inner treachery, so he has not informed anyone in the government of his plans. Notable Achievements: Numerous successful operations, no criminal record, no civilian complaints, outstanding dedication to duty, noted skill at improvisational tactics. Awarded title of Honor Sergeant shortly before Operation CZ Gallant. Preferred Firearm: A custom modified, eight-shot revolver, sturdy and reliable. Field of Expertise: Efficient tactics and careful use of resources. Other: Coen Price likes to tie people up and is good with knots, as opposed to handcuffs. While he uses this more for arrests, it could have naughty applications...Gaia Name: .Johann.Tiernan. Name: Jaime Wheeler Callsign: --Pending-- Sexuality: Thinks he's straight. However, Jaime is often found doing things that suggest otherwise. See 'Other'. Age: 17 Appearance: Jaime is by no means tall, standing at a mere five-foot-five. A slender build and small stature make him less-than-ideal for the work of a soldier. Wide, blue eyes are visible through uneven locks of sandy-light brown hair, and they almost always hold a slightly scared expression, though one can tell when talking to him that he really is trying hard to remain calm. One ear, his left, has a small silver ring through the lobe, but other thatn that, no marks (Save a few scars from when he was younger) marr his boyish features. One such scar, a thin, white line intercepting the sand-color of his eyebrow, was acheived during one of those 'I'm a young boy, so it is my birthright to be stupid' situations. It is his most noticable scar. Despite his thin frame, Jaime is well built from lots of work and exercise. His uniform is in a state of functional disrepair; His boots are dented and worn, and his jumpsuit is frayed on the bottom of the pants, but they so far have served him well... that is... in his limited experience. Personality: A brave boy, Jaime was always up for dares and the stupid antics of young men... when he joined up, he thought it was all a game. All too soon, however, he learned otherwise. 'Holy s**t... that guy's dead...', an all too apt comment from his first day after having joined (Even before his first New Recriuit briefing), summed up his new respect and fear of his new chosen profession. Bio: He was, by all accounts, a normal kid. Growing up, his family was the epitomy of middle class. Dad worked, mom took care of the kids, all was peachy-keen. It was only when, by a fluke, he heard about this... Special Forces team. Well... this was the new dare. They all thought he would chicken out. That is was all fun and games... Notable Achievements: None. Preferred Firearm: Haven Guard Standard Issue - Small Arms Field of Expertise: None. May develop one as his time with the Guard continues. Other: Jaime's favorite snacks are Strawberry popcicles.Gaia Name: SonataBlue Name: Lucas Galuxen Callsign: Doc Sexuality: Homosexual, flex. Age: 27 Appearance: Height falling just short of 5'10", Lucas has a lean, toned body. His eyes are a vibrant green and they convey a warmth that is curious to find in the Guard. He is caucasian. His long, shiny black hair is straight and if let down, might fall to his lower back. However, on duty it is always pulled tightly back, firmly restrained by a tie and an assortment of bobby pins or clips. His Guard uniform is standard, though lined with a green fabric and emblazoned with the caduceus (-here-). He's in the early stages of a form of macular degeneration in his left eye; eventually it will lead to total blindness in that eye, but currently he suffers from slight visual blurriness. Personality: Lucas is one who is very comfortable in his own skin. He takes orders from his superiors in stride and carries them out well. He's a fairly humble, serene person both on and off-duty (though can become more agitated when in the working mindset) and has a charisma about him that most find attractive. Raised to be compassionate, but struggles with personal attachment to those he might lose on missions/operations and detachment to people injured or killed-- whether on his team or even an opponent. Lucas really likes to flirt in subtle ways with anyone who peaks his interest: a suggestive comment, touching items belonging to someone else attributed to mere 'curiousity,' etc. He's afraid of the ocean and bodies of water bigger than a standard hot tub. He also has a strange affinity for keys. (Fear and affinity will be explained as it plays out) Bio: He was an only child and grew up in a completely different megalopolis and was transported to Haven at age 9 to live with his wealthy uncle after his parents were killed in an 'vehicle accident.' He always did well throughout his expensive education, and excelled in scientific and medical-related subjects. Post-schooling, he became a very well-liked and experienced medic in local healing clinics/ hospitals. Despite his obvious gift and extensive education, his uncle used bribery to keep Lucas's superiors from promoting him. He didn't want the boy noticed or recruited. Obviously, this stifling method wasn't as successful as he'd hoped, but no attempts on Lucas's life have been made from the time he was transported to Haven up until his recruitment. He's never handled a gun of any sort before, but believe me when I say he's a quick learner. Notable Achievements: None recorded. Preferred Firearm: H.G.A.I - E.C.B Field of Expertise: Medicine; Other: He'll lose his cool if confronted with his fear of water.Gaia Name: Nolas Name: Dominic Canjemi Callsign: None Sexuality: Gay in denial Age: 23 Appearance: Dominic stands at an average 5'11. In no means is he as built as the soldiers, but he likes to keep a point of remaining considerably toned. His golden blonde hair falls to a length just below his ears. Behind that hair lies a set of bright blue eyes which are often hidden when he hunches over his computer. He can be found wearing glasses from time to time, but he mostly prefers his contacts. His guard uniform is often in a state of casualty. That's at least what he likes to call it. It could also be considered 'messy'. He either wears an unbuttoned standard military green or tan jacket(which he calls his 'safari coat') and matching pants. A casual tank top is always underneath. Though authorized to wears boots, he tends to carry a pair of worn-out sandals with him because he claims his feet get too hot and he can't work. Personality: He likes to keep to himself, but not in the mysterious, 'loner' kind of way. He's often found goofing off or playing pranks, but that's not all of what he is. He's a dreamer and likes to think of what always could be different than what it already is. To some people, he's the type that can never be satisfied. Bio: Ever since he was young, he liked to figure out how things worked. Whether it would take tearing the thing apart or just reading an instruction manual, he had to know. While his father always tried to get him interested in becoming a soldier like himself, he wasn't interested in such a dangerous position. He preferred the technicalities of what was going on behind the scenes. So, he took up in learning how to hack. Though starting small with merely getting people's passwords to their e-mail accounts, his ability grew rapidly. It wasn't too long before he turned his growing ability over to the government where he then began to work for them. Notable Achievements: Has returned lost power sources to several places in Haven and has broke into many locked data bases to retrieve information. Preferred Firearm: None. He does carry mace, though. Field of Expertise: Hacking, basically anything dealing with computers, and deciphering codes Other: Normally hacks for his own personal benefits. He doesn't like being considered the stereotypical type of computer geek, though he doesn't feel comfortable without having his laptop near him. Gaia Name: Melphaligal the Challama Name: Topaz Ananda Callsign: To Be Assigned Sexuality: Bi and flex Age: 24 Appearance: Topaz has short brownish blonde hair that he keep's pushed out of his face with a bit of gel, not to much to make it slicked back just enough to keep it in place. He has tan skin and olive green eyes that always seem to sparkle with mischief or knowledge that he shouldn't know. He has a lean body shape with lean muscle's to give him a nice fit look underneath his uniform. Over all he tends to hold an aura of sexuality around him, whether this is intentional or not is still up in the air. Topaz tends to break all the rules and tends not to wear his uniform at all, or maybe bits and pieces of it as he see's fit. He dresses in whatever he feels will make him look best at all times. (see below for reason's as to why he does this) Personality: Topaz has a very practical personality everything he does has some sort of benefit to himself. He is very sly and can and will do anything if he see's that it will be for his greater benefit. Despite his poor childhood and disrespectable job's Topaz is highly intelligent and tends to soak up information very quickly and adapt to any situation thrown at him. Bio: Growing up in the poorest parts of Haven for the first 7 years of his life doing anything just to make it to the next day taught Topaz many valuable lessons in which he will never forget. However once he turned 8 he ran into a rich ***** who made a deal with him that if he gave him certain 'favors' he would let him live with him in the better part of Haven. Seeing no better option he took the offer and for the next five years he spent it in better society. During the time he stayed at the man's house he learned all he could about anything he could reading and practicing with anything he could get his hands on he gathered a wide variety of skills. Upon leaving the house he was staying in the first thing he did was find his way into the underground crime lords and become a free agent for them mostly doing his work spying on other's and getting them the information, and occasionally making a few hits on the people they asked him to. Things were going great with him until two years ago when on a fateful day Topaz got himself caught. Somehow he managed to talk/sleep with as many people as he could in order to survive, so instead of being executed he was sent to the Haven Guard instead. Notable Achievements: Managed to get himself out of being executed with only his mind and body. Preferred Firearm: Sniper Field of Expertise: Stealth, undercover operations Other: Unknown to many people Topaz actually has very high standards on how he expects other's to act and how he expects himself to act. While he himself does some things he does not like the one thing ingrained into his mind is his childhood instinct of survival.AlliesGaia Name: Doorman Name: Logan Reed Callsign: "Gunmetal" Sexuality: Bisexual / Flex Age: 26 years Appearance: Logan is six feet tall, skinny build, toned shoulders and biceps. He favors denim pants and sleeveless shirts, both of which are constantly graced with the presence of gun oil stains. These stains also find home upon his hands and arms. A grease-stained red bandanna is constantly protruding from one of his back pockets. His hair is dirty blonde, relatively short, and tousled as if he just came from bed. Beneath his shirt, a jagged starburst shaped scar marks the past entrance of a JHP Haven Guard bullet into his stomach. Personality: Logan is sarcastic and good-humored, but he is always looking for an opportunity to help people and prove his expertise. He has one of those friendly grins and enjoys subtly flirting with his customers. Logan cares little about money beyond what he needs to eat, so he tends towards a barter system when dealing with business. Bio: "Gunmetal" Logan began his career at age fourteen, when he "lived in a tin shed" and crafted shotgun shells for his hand-crafted pipe rifle in order to keep other people away from his home. He lived there peacefully for two years, gaining a reputation as a talented tinkerer. By the time of CZ Gallant, Logan was considered a crime lord for his skills in gun running and illegal modification. He heard from a Haven Guard client that the troops were coming up through the lift system, and in a desperate attempt to preserve his lifestyle, made the bomb threat that ended the mission. To this day, Logan looks back at the experience and laughs, writing it off as youthful exuberance. Upon the commencement of DE Echo, Officer Reginald Carlan entered Logan's office and shot him five times in the chest, very much without ceremony or hesitation. Four of these bullets were stopped by armor, but the fifth ruptured his stomach. The Haven Guard left Logan for dead, but thanks to cotton and duct tape, he managed to obtain medical treatment a few hours later when medical troops were brought up for civilians wounded by crossfire. He was arrested at his shop another hour later by riot police making a standard sweep. He was allowed to return to business under restriction that he only dealt weapons to the Haven Guard. Notable Achievements: Besides the bomb threat, Logan single-handedly armed most of the gangs in Upper Haven following CZ Gallant (without the Haven Guard's knowledge, of course). He is also a master gunsmith, and this reputation is well-known in the criminal underworld. The few remaining crime lords would sooner sacrifice ten of their own men than see Logan dead. Furthermore, it is rumored he has slept with Director Lacen of the Lower City. Logan neither confirms nor denies these rumors; amusingly, neither does Director Lacen. Preferred Firearm: Logan's choice of firearm varies from day to day, but for casual cases, he tends to carry a high magazine pistol in the back of his pants. Field of Expertise: Gunsmithing. Other: Logan has access to many illegal pieces of equipment, and given enough time, can scrounge up everything from flintlocks to experimental technology. However, he may demand favors in return...

The City of Haven
Haven is a sprawling, two layer city with over ten million citizens ((Yes, I ran the numbers, that is a realistic amount for a city this big - Doorman)). The surface city has numerous industry sectors, docks, slums, and businesses for lower class citizens. This is the less glamorous part of Haven, dwelling beneath a smog choked and cloudy sky, and where crime is the most rampant. There are a few elevators and loading bays guarded by the Haven Guard leading to the lower city, but for the most part, it is just darkly constructed buildings with hundreds of homeless citizens forming into tent communities. The Haven Guard are known to launch indiscriminate investigations and attacks all throughout the upper city in attempts to find and weaken crime organizations. Unfortunately, those few attacks which find their intended targets usually end with the entire Haven Guard squad being killed or tortured, and the pictures sent back to the department.
The lower city is a rich, prosperous district, with skyscrapers reaching the top of the tremendous cavern the city is built into. Various tunnels and elevators connect the biodome network that contains the cities, and each one contains a different climate or environment. Parks are all abound and rich companies hold fortresses of glass and steel towers all about the city. Crime still has a hold here, even the organized groups, and occasionally, they can slip by the Haven Guard to do some extensive damage to the city. This is not the most common of occurrences, and no cataclysmic disasters have yet occurred.
The Haven Guard are men and women devoted to protection of the city, and enforcing the laws. There are both good and bad people within their ranks, both in administration and foot workers. There is a single police director for each individual dome, and a group of five who direct things involving the upper city and the protection of the lift system. The directors have varying titles but all serve the same purpose: protect the people, protect Haven, judge criminals, and direct the sector they are responsible for.
All Haven Guard are identified by their uniforms: white jumpsuits with black armor padding over it, riot helmets, and gas masks. These uniforms do not vary between ranks; every Haven Guard is expected to know which of his or her comrades is his or her commanding officer. They are all equipped with one compact, high rate of fire machine gun and one high caliber pistol. For non-lethal operations, they all carry one or two tear gas grenades and a special suppressor. The suppressor destroys the normally lethal bullet and projects the energy produced from breaking it down out in a small burst of light that causes severe pain and occasionally temporary paralysis. This can be applied to either the pistol or the machine gun. Losing this suppressor can result in being discharged from the Haven Guard.

Overly Excessive Supplemental Information! This information could come up in news broadcasts, mentioned in conversations, or used by players when discussing things or looking for things. All of this information is either common knowledge, or readily available. You are NOT required to know all of this information. It is simply a reference so you, or other players can use it in conversations. The Upper City Upper City Sectors North, South, East, and West Quadrants - The Upper City is divided into four quadrants, all heavily urbanized, though without any real difference between them save their directors. The buildings reach up for many stories, and many of the outer sections have given way to ruin, the buildings ruined or construction cancelled, housing many "tent towns" within the shade of their skeletal remains, forever reaching towards the dark sky. Because of a disaster years ago, before Haven's founding, the landscape all around is desolate waste, and the sky is almost always choked with smoggy clouds.
Upper Central - This heavily protected sector is important to the welfare of both the Upper and Lower cities. It contains the lift system, which allows resource and supply shipments to be traded beneath the cities, as well as transport people. Haven Guard have special express elevators they use for emergency deployment into the Upper City.
Upper City Guard Directors East Quadrant Director - Director Frost - Formerly the director of Sector A, known for a scandal where he had fifteen witnesses "accidentally" killed in transit to a court case. For this, he was deemed unfit for directing civil protection in the lower city, and was demoted to watching East Quadrant. Bitter to this day, Director Frost has a tendency to rule harshly on punishments in his sector, and tends to refuse reinforcement requests from the rest of the Upper City directors. Because of him, a slang term called "Frosting", arose, which refers to a Haven Guard directed assassination, justified or no.
South Quadrant Director - Director Lorenzo - Once secretary to the previous director of South Quadrant, but an unexpected criminal attack killed her boss and almost everyone else in the cabinet. Lorenzo had the cunning and the charisma to pull the Haven Guard together, secure the Quadrant (with help from the West Quadrant Guard), and take the position for herself. She is considered a symbol of strength for the people of Haven, though frantic rumors claim she orchestrated the hit.
North Quadrant Director - Director Wayne - Admitted to buying, bribing, and cheating himself into power, however, has proven to be another shining star to the people of Haven. Despite his tactics to get into office, he has never been suspected of a scandal since he took the position. He leads his Haven Guard with a strong presence and has a reputation for fairness and mercy to the citizens of North Quadrant.
West Quadrant Director - Director Grant - Known as "The Vet", partially because he lost the right side of his face while serving in the Haven Guard before entering office, and because of rumors of a bestiality fetish. He denies these rumors when presented at press conferences. Grant knows the laws perfectly, and has the undisputed best and most loyal force of Haven Guard in the Upper City.
Captain of Lift Security - Captain Perry - If there was ever a woman who wrote her life by martial law, it was this one. Captain Perry was and still is the best markswoman in all of the Haven Guard, with over fifty confirmed kills. She and her guard forces are unwavering in the protection of the Lifts, though some of her Guards have been known to accept bribes and let smugglers into the Lower City. Captain Perry tends to kill first and ask questions later, and orders her troops to do the same. It is said that she has never missed a shot. The Lower City
Lower City Sectors Sector A - A timber forest environment, with occasional fog and rain, and the parks are fair redwoods and mighty standing trees. There are a few forests in this sector.
Sector B - A colder environment, with a considerable amount of snow and decorated by small, evergreen trees, and generally fairly bright.
Sector C - A much colder, snow lined environment, with a "virtual bay", meaning a climate affected waterfront that connects to Sector D. This is the location of the primary power generators for Haven's climate controls.
Sector D - A wetter, but also hot environment. The parks here are tropical and lush, making this sector a favorite for citizens looking to relax.
Sector E - A very hot, very dry environment with cold nights, not unlike a desert. There is no terrain or parks here; this sector is used for heavy industry.
Sector F - Sector F is a closed sector used for the training of the Haven Guard, with heavily varying environmental conditions and built to seem like the Upper City. The director of this district authorized the deportation of prisoners here, so the Haven Guard could use them for "practice".
Sector G - This is the administration sector, where the varying directors of Haven and the environmental controls are kept. This is the heaviest guarded place in Haven, and in all the years of it's use, has never been breached by a criminal force. The director of Sector G receives a position known as "High Director", which is the ranking leader of all Haven.Lower City Guard Directors Sector A - Captain Klaus - "One of the friendliest men you will ever meet" raves the news. Captain Klaus is hardly ever seen without a big grin on his face and his large arms spread wide, as if to give the whole word a hug. Sector A has the lowest crime rate of all Haven civilian districts, however, its Haven Guard have largely fallen out of practice and skill, and critics say they would hardly last a minute in a real firefight. Many say he should change his title to "Director" because of his disregard for the police forces.
Sector B - Captain Redding - Formerly a crime lord himself, Captain Redding gave up his life of crime to join the Haven Guard many years ago. After a long and difficult time in training and work in the field, he was promoted to Captain of Sector B. He holds the title well, his Haven Guard moving with military precision and striking at the criminal underworld where it hurts the most.
Sector C - Director Preston - A fair, level headed woman, said to be the most efficient in the city. Crime lords operate publicly in her district, and she largely ignores them unless they cross the line, in which case, they will find themselves crushed and burned by a force of Haven Guard. Preston maintains that as long as the crime lords aren't hitting HER district she couldn't give a damn what they did.
Sector D - Director Lacen - A woman known for a number of marriages throughout her career, all ended due to assassinations, and for being the only Haven government official to pose for multiple adult magazines. Indisputably a gorgeous woman, Lacen's forces are efficient and persistent in their duties, and her sharp negotiating tactics keep Sector D safe from many organized crime groups (although it still possesses a sizeable count of lone criminals). Critics claim she is isn't fit to direct a Sector, but her cabinet persists that "the people of Haven should see all sides of their leaders". Director Grant of the Upper City West Quadrant is rumored to have laughed so hard at this statement he was late for a meeting.
Sector E - Overseer Hastings - The "one man cabinet", Overseer Hastings is the only director in Haven who works alone, without any form of cabinet. The only people who answer to him are the individual workers of Sector E, no rank system, no nothing. He simply gives them lists of what he wants produced, and they do it. The Haven Guard of Sector E operate almost independently, applying the laws of Haven based on their own interpretations. When orders for combat are needed, they tend to call Staff Sergeant Feldman of Sector F.
Sector F - Staff Sergeant Feldman - Rumored to have been in an asylum for most of his teenage life. He claims that as a boy he "took the angel conscience off of his shoulder and bit off it's head", and also states he wants his men to do the same. While Feldman is not exactly corrupt, he is cruel. More than one prisoner intended for a lethal injection death has been deported to his sector for "live target practice" for his recruits.
Sector G - High Director Bastian - A persuasive old woman who obtained office after the previous High Director retired. Bastian claims that the city of Haven is her life's blood, and she won't die to old age while the city still has a chance. She is dedicated firmly to weakening the crime lords' hold on her city, but so far, seems only to be losing ground as time grinds on. Still, despite the fact she is pushing 60 years of age, she shows no deterioration of health. The High Director is most known for saving her own life, when an assassin broke into her office, and she single-handedly dispatched him with a paperweight to his skull.
Allies Gunmetal Logan - Most known for threatening to destroy the lift system to stop the deployment of CZ Gallant, Gunmetal Logan escaped capture during DE Echo. He negotiated with the Haven Guard, and was granted limited operation in the Upper City as an arms dealer. He had intended to supply the crime families, but the Haven Guard convinced him to supply to the civilian population so they could have the added ability protect themselves if they could afford the gun and license. He is also forced to turn over weapons to the Haven Guard when they need them, as per his sentence. He operates in Upper Central.
Richard Riley - Founder of the repair and salvage shop "Rich Trade", also located in Upper Central. Rich Trade is run in an abandoned warehouse and is one of the best places for the Haven Guard in the Upper City to go to have any sort of special modifications done on their firearms, uniforms, vehicles, or anything else, for that matter. Richard is known for building many of his household appliances from scratch. His business is fairly profitable, and many of "vagrants" in the area are actually mercenaries he has hired to help guard the business from hopeful crime lords. He is always helpful and friendly to the Haven Guard.
Slang "frost" - To assassinate a civilian or criminal, especially if preformed by the Haven Guard. "gassers" - A slang term (typically used by criminals) to apply to Haven Guard, similar to "pig" used on civilian police forces.
Acronyms "H.G.S.I.- S.A." - Haven Guard Standard Issue - Small Arms. The submachine gun used by most Haven Guard. Also called a "Saw", for it's ability to apply multiple shots in a generally straight line. "H.G.S.I - B.F." - Haven Guard Standard Issue - Backup Firearm. The handgun used by the Haven Guard. Also called a "Boyfriend", a nickname coined when many of the Haven Guard started wearing them everywhere, even when off duty. "H.G.S.I.- N.L.A." - Haven Guard Standard Issue - Non Lethal Attachment. The special suppressor attached to H.G.S.I - S.A and B.F. to render them non-lethal. Also called a "Spitter". "H.G.S.I - C.B." - Haven Guard Standard Issue - Collapsible Baton. A collapsible, heavy baton used for bludgeoning. No widespread nickname (likely because "baton" or "club" is easy to say) "H.G.A.I - E.C.B." - Haven Guard Advanced Issue - Electrically Charged Baton. A collapsible baton made of lightweight metal, near harmless on its own. By pressing a button, it becomes electrically charged and can incapacitate or temporarily disable an opponent. Can be used extended for swinging, or compacted for stabbing, like a normal taser.
Other Picture - P90 Submachine Gun - The H.G.S.I.-S.A. is modeled after this weapon. Picture - Heckler and Koch Mk 23 Handgun - The H.G.S.I.-B.F. is modeled after this weapon.

Previous Operations This is a summary of Haven Guard operations that have taken place during the course of the story, so late joiners can catch up quickly and easily.
Haven Guard missions are denoted by two letters ("AB, GH, TC") and one word, usually selected at random. ("Hammer, Echo, Ranger, Bradley")Operation CZ Gallant Commanding Officer: Coen PriceOperation CZ Gallant began ten years ago, when Haven's upper city was still under crime lord control. The objective was for multiple Haven Guard units to moblize into the Upper City via the transport lift and strike at several known targets simultaneously, crippling the crime lord's hold.
Unfortunately, the nefarious "Gunmetal Logan", at the time a crime lord, recieved word of the operation from a contact in the Lower City. When the force moblized, he threatened to destroy the lift, killing all of the soldiers and cutting the Lower City off from the surface, shortly followed by sealing all of the air vents into the Lower City. It would have only been a matter of time until the entire Lower City suffocated. The forces were hastily withdrawn, and all squadrons dismissed and registered as "withdrawn from operation", save one. Bravo Patrol returned without its leader, Honor Sergeant Coen Price. The crime lords retained control over the city. Sergeant Price is the only soldier registered as "Missing in Action" for an operation that never actually took place.
Operation DE Echo Commanding Officer: Reginald Carlan
Operation DE Echo was considered a follow up to Operation CZ Gallant. In this situation, only five expert squads were chosen, and only the most important figures briefed. Mobilized through an old electrical pipeline, the forces breached the Upper City and eliminated over fifty targets in less than an hour. The targets were all leaders of particularly influential crime groups. Most were killed, but a handful were arrested, including Gunmetal Logan, who gave the Haven Guard so much trouble during CZ Gallant.
The operation was completed in five hours, and the crime factions were shattered. Shortly afterward, multiple squads of riot control Haven Guard were mobilized to the Upper City and secured the abandoned government buildings. Following that, government figures were escorted in. Within 24 hours of the operation's start, the Upper City was reclaimed by the Haven Guard. Most of the arrested crime lords found pardon and were allowed to return to the Upper City under careful watch.
Operation DE Echo was made famous as the operation that saved Haven.

((This could be called a bump, by some, but it also has more purpose than just elevating my post on the extensive lists against the ever rising tide of other posts.
I call it a brief message to the public stating that I will begin play as soon as I have a few folks ready to go. So please, submit, submit, submit to me. Your profiles. I said profiles.))

((I fear this thread is getting swallowed up, so it needs must be pushed upwards yet again. Perhaps if I continue to wave it enticingly, people will eventually latch onto the proverbial bait.
However, if this setting just isn't seeming interesting to anyone, can anybody suggest a revision or two that could be made?))

The room was solid metal, with no windows and only one door. A steel table with eight chairs sat in the center of the room, and a large whiteboard was up against the far wall. Currently, it was blank. Black pens sat along the base of the board, and there was a tall pitcher of ice water on the table, freshly purified and sparkling in the buzzing lights overhead.
The recruit had been brought here after he completed preliminary training, unannounced and cmopletely by suprise. The man who brough him the order was a lieutenant of a different squad, but he claimed the orders were urgent enough. Some papers were signed, some information was removed from the databases marking Wheeler as part of his specific squad, and placing him at "Pending Review" status. The meaning of it all? Unsaid.
And then he had been guided straight here, and the door had been bolted once he was in. What could all this mean?

The young man, barely seventeen, allowed himself to be led through the halls, looking around with a slightly scared expression in his eyes. His mouth, however, conveyed otherwise. As he walked, he made comments, most of which involving his being "busy" before he was called, and "Not giving him a warning, those bastards." He went without a struggle, however, the fear on his face only barely hidden by his brash words.
With only half-present interest, Jaime looked about the room, barely registering the board, the pens, the eight chairs (One of which he sat in, shakily), or the buzzing lights. All of these things were lost to him as his mind began to consider all of the things he may or may not have done wrong.
"What is it this time?"
He voiced aloud, the only response the metallic sound of the door bolting, and the retreating footsteps of the lieutenant.

He was left in silence for some time, the only sound being the occasional shift of the melting ice and the buzz of the lights overhead, until, after perhaps fifteen minutes, the door unbolted and someone walked in. He was wearing a Haven Guard combat uniform with some patchwork adjustments, no name tag, and a "cape" of ragged cloth about his shoulders. A standard issue pistol was at his hip, but he carried no other weapons. His stubble-lined face was weary and resolute, and his hair mussed as though he had just removed his helmet.
Moving to the front of the room, he took a place by the white board, then looked directly at Jaime.
"Officer Wheeler. Let me congratulate you on your promotion from Cadet." He began, folding his hands behind himself. "My name is Honor Sergant Coen Price, and you have been selected out of many recruits to join my squad."
