At the end of season seven, do you think Buffy really loved Spike. I mean, if Spike says she didn't maybe she really didn't. Or maybe she loved him in a different way? I'm just wondering.

buffy loved spike. absolutely. she loved how he never gave up trying to be a better man, and she loved how he was willing to give up his life for others. it was a mature love that made her love the good and the bad parts of spike, and she will never forget him.

Well we do know for sure that she felt something with him cause she said she did. She also feels safe with him, and he makes her feel normal. I guess you can call that love, we know Spike loves Buffy, but then again she still loves Angel... GOD DAMN YOU MAKE UP YOUR MIND! domokun

I think Buffy loved Spike but wasn't really IN love with him. I think he gave her strength and solace when she needed it, and she loved him for that and for trying to be a better man for him, but I don't think she would ever be truly happy with him.

I agree with that 100% Buffy DID love him but just in her own way.

buffy definetely loved spike u could totally see it in her eyes at the end of season 7. i think that ever seens he got the chip in his head she felt something for him she just didnt know what it was untill it mattered.

I like how in 'Once More with Feeling' at the end when she sang that one part about wanting to feel *something* I always took that as a little foreshadowing of things to come *nudge nudge*

But on the same note her love With Angel was something completly diffrent. That was teenage, "Oh I'm in love" love she had for Angel. I like how she.... dised him in season 7. He was expecting to be the one to use the amulet and be the big hero. She gave it over to Spike. And that was not because he was the only one that could use it. If you think about it, Buffy could use it also. I don't recall it saying that you have to be a "Vampire" to use it. Just be dead and come back.

Buffy did love Spike in those last episdoes of the series. I bet if Spike hadnt of died they're relationship would have grown a lot more. Who knows, they might have gotten back together. heart I luv them togethersooo much!! hehe. xd

Well in my opinion I think she could never love him the way he deserved to be. The kind of more then friend love but not what she had with Angel. She coudl never love him that way and it hurt him to see that so I don't think SPike and buffy ever really had that 'Perfect love thing'
It's kinda sad beacuse i do love the angsty love bit.
But Buffy didn't love him enough. He may have begun to grow on the Slayer, but I don't think she could ever really Love him.
Lust for him, HELL YES!!
What GIRL DOESN'T!?
But love... no.

Buffy's love for Angel & for Spike were both seperate entities... She loved Angel because he loved her & because I guess to a degree it was teenage infatuation. Whilst with Spike the love was based on mutal lust at first then they developed into respect & then into need and love...come on she forgave him pretty quickly for trying to rape her!!!! And Angel knew that Buffy loved Spike because he was always very bitter about their relationship & if he believed that she didn't love him then he would've been more blase about the whole situation!!!
