Sarah Waters writes mostly historical fiction, and everything of hers I've read involved lesbians.

My favorite is probably Tipping the Velvet, although this is only really because I haven't read Affinity or Night Watch yet, and I thought that Fingersmith got a bit tedious in some parts.
I discovered Sarah Waters when I was visiting my aunt. She had it lying around, and she told me that she's stopped reading it, but couldn't remember why. I picked it up and read it.
This particular edition had no mention of homosexuality in the summary, so I was pleasantly surprised.
I love Gentleman in Fingersmith, even though he's evil. I really like the version of him in the BBC series, because he is pretty. I also really liked Maude, because she is cool.
