This is a blatant and bald-faced rip-off of dancing penguin's thread on comic books characters. Only, in this one, I'm asking about that one (or those few) literary characters that you just wish were real, that you could imagine yourself falling in love with if only they were flesh and blood and soul instead of ink and paper and imagination.
For me, it's Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Not an original character to fall for, to be sure. But can you really blame the hundreds of women that have done so? He's an enigma, a seemingly-snobbish and insufferable man with a soft heart. He's the stereotypical shy type, and I fall for that almost every time. Like Louis from The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, or Lupin from Harry Potter.
So...yeah. Anyone else here fall in love with book characters? sweatdrop

Ah, this one I can answer. I fall for book characters all the time. sweatdrop But which are the ones I fancy the most? Probably Merry from LotR (I've had a crush on him since I was six, and that's kind of frightening. xd ), Tylendel from "Magic's Pawn" by Mercedes Lackey, and Lobsang Ludd from "Thief of Time" by Terry Pratchett. ...and I hadn't noticed it before, but all three of those characters have a lot in common, actually. All three are mischievous young men who aren't the sharpest fish in the drawer. xd
And I agree with you on Darcy!

MeriThranduiliell And I agree with you on Darcy! Haha, I think a lot of women do. I wonder what it is about some of these characters that makes them so...fanciable... Heh. I haven't read Magic's Pawn or Thief of Time, but I can definitely see how Merry could be one of those characters a person would fall for. He's got that semi-innocent, cute airhead thing going for him.

Interesting, since I've been called a real-life Louis before. sweatdrop
I like people that get away with things. Like... um, Morgan Leah...
Mainly this excerpt: http://www.amazon.com/gp/sitbv3/reader/102-8462671-5816906?_encoding=UTF8&asin=0345370740
First do a search on "Mud" and read about the mud monster. Then look up "skunk" and read about that too. Hehehe.

Hrm ... honestly I can't really think of a specific girl ...
At first I thought Hermione (Harry Potter), but she's a braniac and would make me feel inferior ... even though I consider myself of above-average intellect.
Then I thought of Jaina Solo (Star Wars "Young Jedi Knights" Series). But a girl that could whoop my a** is also intimidating.
I suppose I could settle with Ginny Weasley (Harry Potter), as she's not the type to be too obnoxious, it seems. And she doesn't mind snogging. 4laugh But P.D.A.'s would be prohibited lol.

*sigh*
Sily Chazzzzz, the point of fancying literary characters is that you don't have to think about all that practical gobbledygook.
You and your logic. blaugh

Glad that I found a real-life girlfriend that's exactly that.
