I have never heard of Coil. Is Coil a fast band, or a slow one? I would love to see some links too!

Coil!!!! Hell yeah!!! But sad to say, they are not a j-rock band. Here's some info about them:
Coil is an industrial band from England that was formed by J.G. Thirwell. It is VERY ambient and extremely trippy. Also quite expensive since all of their cd's are imports. But if you come across a cd and can afford it, definitely check it out! Great for meditating, sleeping or if you just want to send your mind for a trip. Only a few songs are singable/dancable though.
The band members came from the FIRST industrial band ever... which was called "Throbbing Gristle." Formed in the late 60's they used a lot of weird analog effects to get an industrial sound... many of Throbbing Gristles songs are very annoying... but they were A LOT different then any other band of their time & influenced a lot of major bands today.
One huge fan of Coil is Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. As a matter of fact, if you look at any of the Nine Inch Nails remix albums (Fixed, Further Down the Spiral, etc) you will see that J.G. Thirwell of Coil usually mixes at LEAST one song.
My favorite album by Coil is "Love's Secret Domain" although it's hard as hell to find any mp3's online. I might upload a sample for everyone though. I definitely think they are one of the most skilled ambient industrial bands ever using a lot of techniques to mix their sound in unusual ways.
