A rather tall male walked along the length of a long since used dirt road. It was more a less a trail that ran through a large feild of grass that had overgrown after numerous battles were fought there. The faint smell of sae water lingered in the air, the natural smell of the sea, which was only a few hours walk from where he was.
The young man stood only a foot shorter than the tall grass, attired in a white yukata, scribed with the japanese character for 'outcast' on the back in bright red ink. His thick blonde hair was pulled back into a tight ponytail, waving from side to side in the slight breeze. His skin was a rick golden color from years of wandering, and under his messy bangs, stared two icy blue eyes. They were almost white in appearance, earning him the name of Youkai, the phantom.
His swords hung from his belt, bobbing as he walked slowly down the path. His eyes happened to catch something in the distance, so he rushed foreward quietly. Apon further inspection, he identified the thing as a boy, fast asleep in the tall grass, or so it appeared...

The boy was, unusually, laying flat on his back. When he opened his eyes, he could feel a dull ache in the small of his back, and there were bandages at the tips of his fingers, unfurled, but he had no idea why. For a short time, he watched the white clouds scut by, looking like they were chasing one another. The sky, it was so, blue. For some reason, that seemed odd to him.
Moving his arms below him, he slowly pushed himself into a sitting position. When he started to look around, his eyes caught the rather vivid image of the... samurai, was it? His brain wouldn't quite confirm or deny that was what the man was, but he was definitely distinguishable.

The boy stood rigid, it wasn't everyday that you find a boy laying in the grass infront of you, much rather one that didn't flee at the sight of him. His clothing hinted that he may be a school boy, interesting enough because he was nowhere even remotly near a school. The nearest one, he thought, had to have been three cities over. They were in a rather rural area, no one had time for education. His voice came as clearly and distinctly as it always had been, slightly deep for his appearance. He was a bit thin from all his wandering... "Who are you, and what are you doing here?"

He looked up at the man, his brain not telling him to wonder the same thing. He was more worried about the questions that had been asked of him, since he was searchign his brain for an answer to either of them and coming up very blank. His eyes seemed to reflect this, the stare all but emotionless and his mouth a little slack with the lack of knowledge.
"I'm not sure." he muttered.

"Hmmmm, you don't look to be lying... though..." He walks foreward, kneeling by his side, the sheathe of his sword grazing the ground beside him. He leaned close to him, his face passing his cheek to come within centimeters of his neck, smelling him for any sign of residency. "You're not from around here are you?" He spoke as he pulled away, sitting on his heels as he looked the boy over.
His dress was odd for a japanese boy. It seemed a bit foreign, and smelled as such. He seemed to be able to speak, though his memory wasn't the greatest in Kyoto.

For some reason, though not one he could put his finger on, he knew it was not usual for someone to be that close to you, especially in a situation like this, but it did not personally bother him. He glanced up at the man, raising an eyebrow up slightly. "I don't know." he said quietly. He could understand the man, but he couldn't remember anything, anything tangible. Words, numbers, things, but not specific people or places.

"I see..." He thought momentarily before standing slowly, brushing off his yukata and holding out a hand. When the boy looked at him with confuseion he leered back. "Come on now, you don't want to be killed do you?" He kept his eyes angled just behind the boy. They were in ninja territory, not a terribly safe place to be when you wake up on a rock in the grass.

The boy took the man's hand, pulling himself up off of the ground. But before he could even take a step, he let out a small cry and crumpled to his knees. He held a hand over his stomach, wincing in what looked to be severe pain. It seemed the bandages weren't from his hands at all.

He stared at the boy, looking a bit worried. Not having any medical background, he carfulli hooked an arm under the boys arms, then the other under his legs, lifting him slowly into his strong arms, leaning him as close to his chest as possible to keep off any unnessasary weight. "Let's get you inside... then we'll see what we can do about that poor memory." He didn't smile, nor showed any signs of such a thing, just carried him softly as he walked back down the small trail.

The boy seemed only slightly startled by the action, being much more concerned with the pain in his abdomen, and pressing his arm to it. His eyes stayed shut mostly as he was carried, the pain being terrible. He had no idea what he could have done to hurt himself like this, that it hadn't hurt until he stood up, but it was horrid.

He stopped a while later, kneeling down and resting the boy between his legs, pulling up the dark uniform shirt over his head, laying him down slowly on his back. He didn't stop stripping him until he saw the light flesh beneath the garb. "Hmmm..." He looked down at him, searching for something.

The boy did seem a little startled when his clothing was being pulled off. His eyes were a little bit wide and some irrational fear told him that this was not a good idea in most cases. "What, what are you, doing?" he managed, not sure he could even make his mouth work.

"I'm trying to find out what's making you whimper..." His hands trailed over the soft skin, leaving small goosebumps in their path. He finaly came to a abnormaly soft spot just under his ribs. He tried his hardest to keep the squirming boy still as he pressed lightly on it. "You bruised a rib... odd... it's an inner one at that...." He pulled the boy's shirt back on, carefully gathering him up again, careful to tilt him so the njury had as little stress as he could manage. The pose looked a bit awkward, the boys face tilted toward his chest, leaning him inward. "We should get to Misao's soon... she'll fix you..."

He shivered as the man's hands trailed over his skin, the rough fingers feeling odd but strangely pleasing. But when his fingers found that particular spot... "Aah!" he let out a loud cry, then really did whimper softly before his clothing was put back on. It hurt so much, and he didn't even notice it at first when he was scooped back up.
He clutched the man's yukata, still grimacing as he pressed his face into the material. It was all he could do not to cry anymore.

Some time later, with a chest soaked from tears, and a silently sleeping boy in his arms, he fell to his knees as the steps of a large house. It was situated between two opposite streams, the cold water spritsing his sweaty face.
A young girl ran up to him, only a few years old and worried to see two big people outside her home. "Missus Misao! There are samoorai at the door!"
Another girl rushed out, broom in hand, through the doors as she swiftly walked towandr the kneeling man. Her eyes widened when she noticed who it was, and what was in his arms. "You... who is this?"
He looked up to her and smiled as best he could, exhausted from the travel. It had taken him hours, nearly 10 to reach this place, when normally, it would have taken him about 6. He fell backward, laying the boy down infront of him before doing so.
