Fox couldn’t concentrate on the lecture as her mind kept drifting onto the subject of what to do with her new little annoyance. ‘I could just file with the police…hopefully no one would notice the resemblance and at least he’d think I was trying…but there’s no way I can tell him! Maybe he is just lost, and all of this is just one big mix up…yea right.’
Fox tried to get him off her mind, but she wasn’t too successful. As everyone got up to leave she was left with a head full of worries and a page full of doodles. She sighed to herself and packed up her things dreading the trip back to her room.
She slowly slunk back towards the dorm. As she came to the door she just starred at it. ‘Well…it not going to open itself, and I can’t leave him in there forever…’ she took a deep breath and quickly flung open the door.
As she walked in she found it noticeably empty. Her heart pounded and she became overwhelmed with fright, and started to dig furiously through her messy room. She made sure to check under the beds and even the lamp…and surprisingly found nothing!
“Where would he go? Maybe I’ll never find him!” Fox worried aloud as she searched over portion of the room she had already ransacked. She suddenly stopped her movements and stepped back for a moment ‘you know…with him gone I don’t have to worry about him anymore…yea, he’d just be someone else’s problem! And I could go on with my life!” she thought to herself, and then smacked her head ‘I can’t do that…there’s no telling what trouble he could get into…hell, he doesn’t even have shoes!’ She sighed and turned around and out the door.
‘He can’t have gone far, I’m sure he’s around here somewhere…’ she thought to herself.
She started her search throughout the dorm, pacing the hallways and peeking in the occasional open door, but to no avail. “I sure hope nothing bad happened to him…” she spoke quietly as she continued her search.
As she was passing by a window she spotted a familiar head of frumpy hair out of the corner of her eye and spun around to see L along with a couple students chatting in the quad.
Fox stormed down to the quad in a huff. She heard the composed murmurings of highly technical speak as she neared the small group. She approached L and starred daggers into his eyes, and as soon as their gaze met L jumped back.
“Hi…you were taking so long I thought I’d take a quick look around…” he said after he sheepishly waved to Fox.
“I told you to stay put!” Fox yelled as she grabbed his hand “You’re coming back with me right now!”
As Fox was dragging L by the arm one of the students L had been chatting with whistled and the whole group laughed. Both L and Fox blushed and Fox let go of L’s arm and quickly turned to face the offending student.
She glared at him and he put his hands up in defense.
“It was just a little joke! Don’t flake out about it.” He said almost jokingly which caused Fox’s anger to flare up even more.
“How dare you! You ignorant insufferable little cretin! You should shut the ******** up and mind your own god damned business! Why don’t you just drop out and leave us all the hell alone you intolerable little wanna be high school floozy!” She barked.
As Fox was politely sharing her feelings with the young college student L slowly slinked away while her attention was otherwise preoccupied.
Fox swiftly turned away forbidding the student to make a reply she noticed L had once again disappeared. She grunted in anger and took off back into to dorm, hoping he just decided to start back without her.
Fox quickly caught up with L and startled him as she touched his shoulder to slow him down. Fox quickly recoiled at the contact giving out a nervous laugh and stroking the back of her head.
L stopped in front of her and asked “so…you were going to go to the police about me, correct?” he asked.
Fox stopped to collect her thoughts and then nodded, “Uh, right. We need to do that…” she trailed off and for a moment their eyes met. Each blushed, but Fox quickly brushed it and grabbed L by the wrist.
“But first things first, you need some shoes.”
