Basic Info:
When dealing with the living dead, there are allways a few things that are good to remeber.
1. Organize before they rise! 2. They feel no fear, why should you? 3. Use your head: cut off theirs. 4. Blades don't need reloading. 5. Ideal protection = tight clothes, short hair. 6. Get up the staircase, then destroy it. 7. Get out of the car and onto the bike. 8. Keep moving, keep low, keep quiet, keep alert! 9. No place is safe, only safer. 10. The zombie may be gone, but the threat lives on.

You are not immortal when it comes to stinking piles of flesh rotting zombies.
The ones in movies are slow.
But zombies could also end up like those fast ones that make the creepy sound in Half-Life 2.
If you confront one of those zombies. You will probably die. Using a Crossbow against them, will be very difficult, as they actually have menuverability. which is an unlikely thing for your average zombie.
so stick with a shotgun. wide range = better chance on nailing the sucker. wink

well as gregg the grimm reaper put it so eliquently "the shotgun is the most effective way to deal with them destroy the bloody head the bloody undead whats the %^&*ing point unbloody dead" so yeah i would take the new auto shotgun or mabye even the spaz 12 gauge although chainsaws work too.

yea, but chainsaws require close range. and also battery/gas.
Which says 'weight' on you in your journey of zombie slaying.

I'd advise greatly against a chainsaw. You would need to require good strength to constantly lift the chainsaw to a zombie's head. Also, very messy. No one wants zombie insides all over them.

I'd go with a Machette, 22 Rifle, and a Crowbar.

Another downside to using a chainsaw is that it’s noisy. Sure, it’s awesome to hack the undead to little bits with a loud rotating blade, and total decimation of the frontal lobe would come quickly, but it’s foolish to assume a zombie is alone. Remember, they are attracted to noise, a chainsaw an open call to any undead in earshot. Plus there’s a greater chance of getting bit by your own weapon than if you were to use a crowbar or shotgun. When I go zombie stomping, my crowbar is by my side, and my sawed off shotgun is on my back.

I'll unbasic-ify your info. Quote: 3. Use your head: cut off theirs. We'll ya, the virus Solanum, gets in your blood, and it kills you slowly, and stops your heart, and kills you. After a short while you'll come back to life with out your heart beating, so you don't have any nerves that's why the only way to kill, is to severly damage the brain. Quote: 5. Ideal protection = tight clothes, short hair. ya, but remeber, T-Shirts aren't bite proof, so try wearing hard leather. it's bite proof enough. Quote: 6. Get up the staircase, then destroy it. Ya sure, but that's a little too hard, try blocking the doors and windows, then stay on the roof and shoot. Quote: 7. Get out of the car and onto the bike. Ya because Zombies can hear a cars engine from miles away, but I'd rather take my chances, because I think I forgot how to ride a bike. Quote: 8. Keep moving, keep low, keep quiet, keep alert! Keep moving, we'll that's good for starters, keep quiet isn't that great, because zombies can smell mortal flesh from a mile away. Always keep alert, and stay armed.

Keep moving, we'll that's good for starters, keep quiet isn't that great, because zombies can smell mortal flesh from a mile away. Always keep alert, and stay armed. In reality only newly made zombies would be able to smell human flesh and certainly not from a mile away. Zombies are just people who have died and had thier corpses reanimated. That one of the things that I disagree with from ZSG.
