Yes, I've seen it happen before and its very scary. Tanuki are beings made from our own mind, if we think on this being alot we feed it energy to become visible. It is also known that a woman made a Tanuki in India, she was visiting and had come back from the last lesson of how to make a Tanuki, so straight away she began working on a Friar Tuck clergyman kind of being. She spent one hour each day after getting up and every hour before going to bed, thinking on this clergymen.
One morning she got up and decided to get some breakfast, she didn't meditate on the clergyman and she over heard some people talking.
"Did you see that monk this morning?"
"Yes, he was walking in the church and praying, he even scared a small child. How rude!" The woman who made the Tanuki gasped, just as she turned around intent on having a talk with the clergyman he appeared in the hall before her, his friar tuck look had been chnaged from a fat joyvial man to a thin mucular bench presser with a angery attitude and appearance to others.
She had to get ride of him, and so the process began taking three days in constitant meditation sucking back the enrgy she fed him. On the fourth day when she collapsed the firar no longer lived, the Tanuki was gone.
What do you think of Tanuki's, I don't like it because people seem to like to play God alot, creating and killing.

Are Tanuki innately good or evil, or is that a result of the process in which they are made.
I think there is something disturbing about creating sentient beings, especially if you don't know how they will turn out or have no control over them.

It's inevitable, they will begin to chnage themsefls in the coarse of time that they become stronge enough to do so.

Beyond_Imortality wolfpupgrl14 ive never heard of this, but i would definitly like to learn more about it 3nodding same here.. what does this do? Your making life from imigening it in your mind, the simplest way to make life from the brain. Your brain is more powerful then you think.

Why would someone want to make a tanuki knowing you are responsible for its actions because you created it.

This is what I was tryin to think about in the topic in the Spirits subforum re: creating ghosts. Thank you! It's been bugging me since I couldn't remember enough of the details to post more about it.

whee Sylvia Browne talked about this...same story too. she said the mind can be THAT powerful. that people keep thinking that Nessy is in the water when really Nessy has been dead for years. But people want to see it so badly that it manafist often.
the thought of that is scary. there are is just too much negative energy in the world to bring an object of your creation to life.
the closest i ever got to this was in childhood. when my friend and her brother talked about "Pumpkin Head" her brother drew him on a peice of paper and gave a little chant. after that they had a good laugh about it, but later in the weeks they began to have REALLY bad nightmares about Pumpkin Head, the paper her brother orginally drew him on was missing and they found that the only way to get rid of it was to burn and bury the drawn form. so her brother redrew it and did what he read about and soon the nightmares stopped.
lol going over there affected me and my own brother. we also had Pumpkin Head nightmares until the paper was burned and buried.
