Hazy smoke filled air became a familiarity around this place. Night after night he stood behind the black oak bar, polishing his glasses on his shirt while he attemptes to see across the room. Every night seemed the same. Always had, and he was sure that over time, it would show that it would forever remain the same.

He pushed the glasses back up to his eyes as he poured another glass of liquer into a glass, placing it infront of the pour soul who would greedily accept its warm comfort. The people here were always different. Some came from time to time to celebrate, but most staggered in, having been kicked out of the previous bars, in hopes that he would drown them in alcohol before the sorrow could catch up.

Something else that bothered him was the shadows, the dark places that not even the neon signs could illuminate. It always seemed like someone was there, but no one ever left, so he simply erased it from his mind, brushing it off as nerves.

User ImageA pale figure sat at a table as far away from the band as possible. His ears were far too sensitive to deal with the loud rock noises of the bar, ever. He hated the days when parties came in, because it made it harder to keep an eye on the bartender.

He rarely ever ordered anything himself, not the type to drink anything that contained alcohol unless he was safely back in his home, behind his black windows and a locked door. The kids on his block all believe the house to be haunted, and that there'd been a murder there once. Well, there had been more than one murder, and sometimes even he believed it might be haunted...

The smoke had finally gotten to him, making him rub his eyes on the soft material that loosly covered his arms. He was having one of those days when everything seems to rub you the wrong way. And just as he thought that, a glass broke in the sink. Little did he know about this, so as he reached in the hot water to get it, the sharp glass tore through a small layer of skin. Without hezitation, the hand was yanked from the water, small drops of crimson blood falling onto his shirt as he held it up to examine.

Another thing was starting to bother him as well. The black corner... it was... making noises. Well, thats how it seemed. He pushed the thoughts away, tending to the small wound on the inside of his palm before he made too big a mess. "Great... just what i need..."

Crowe's attention was torn between two things: The werewolf in the corner who was slowly turning from human form, and the smell of the blood that reached his nose. His instinct told him to go for the blood, since he didn't drink normally until after the bar closed, and his brain was telling him to concentrate on the creature that was probably about to tear the bar apart.

Biting his tongue, he stood up and quickly made his way to the boy, his favorite little bartender, and grabbed his hand. This would probably confuse him slightly less than his next action. Licking the wound, it spread a little of his blood into it and the wound healed immediately. Turning, he licked his top lip and then stared in the direction of the dark corner. He could smell that mutt...

His eyes instinctivly gawked at his hand, which had, seconds before, been dripping blood. Now was a different story though. It was stained with drops of blood, but no cut was visible, the shock of which, nearly made him forget what had happened.

When he finally regained his senses he turned to the person who had done it, not entirly knowing what to say, but when he saw where he was going he stopped, his mouth suddenly closing and his eyes growing slightly wider. "G-growling?"

Crowe stopped, eyes widened slightly behind his glasses. He glanced around, spotting the way into the back room and grabbing the bartender's wrist, he took off. Once he got through the door he turned and slammed it shut, locking it just in time to hear a loud thump from the wolf hitting the door, and then scratching noises.

The pale man looked around again, dragging the bartender towards the back exit before the werewolf figure out what he was doing. "Hurry up, I'll explain later."

His feet threatened to fall out beneath him as this stranger dragged him full speed through the streets. The darkness spread out all around them as they ran further and further from the only lights in the town. Odd sounds passed behind them. The scratching of claws on the stone roads, the howl of a large beast, and his own voicing crying out for him to stop.
"What's going on?" He stumbled and fell foreward, his hand hitting the cobble stone road hard, small scratches breaking his skin.

The vampire turned around, slipping a gun from behind him but before he could even aim a huge creature jumped over the fallen boy and rammed right into him, knocking him backwards and the gun flying out of his hand. He was pinned to the ground, holding his arms up to try to protect himself from the claws of the snarling beast, the creatures giant jaws clamping around his forearm.

He nearly screamed, but instead kept his teeth gritted and balled up his fist, whacking the werewolf between the eyes until it started bleeding. "Filthy mutt!'

He rushed to his feet, his legs shaking beneath him. Before he even realized what he was doing, he had picked up a large plank of wood, what he thought might have been an old bar sign, and wacked the bloody creature across the back of the head. The wood snapped loudly, leaving the boy clinging tightly to a useless splintered plank.

All at once the thing turned and bound toward him. He felt like screaming, but instead, threw the wood and took off, stupidly, toward the woods.

"Damien, no!" he yelled. s**t, just, s**t. Crowe rolled over and pushed himself to his feet, picking up his gun and then turning to go after them. He aimed as best he could with the way his body was bouncing, firing off shots at the creature. Why on Earth had he left his shotgun at home the day the stupid creature decided to make it's move?

He caught up rather quickly, since he could move faster without having to drag the human, and finally got a clear shot of the creature as it was almost upon the bartender. Stopping, he fired three shots, two hitting the creature in the head and one hitting it in the neck.

The thing went down, sliding until it was right next to Damien, but he knew it wouldn't stay down for long. They had been regenerating for years now.

Like every human before him who had managed to see such a thing, he bent down next to it, its hot breath hitting his arm smelling highly of rotted flesh and decay. He grimaced as he knelt to examine it. Off in the short distance, he heard something. It sounded a lot like his name, though he wasn't entirly sure, too enthralled by the necklace that hung from its neck.

His fingers wound around the thin gold chain, tugging at it, tring desperatly to snap the clasp. When it broke free, something made his stomach jump. It moved, no, it was growling at him. A small gasp escaped him as he attempted to dart away, but failing miserably as the thing bit down hard on his ankle.

Much like all the humans before him, he screamed out in pain, shutting his mouth tight as he kicked the beast in the face with his free leg, managing for a moment to make it let go of his leg, taking the opertinity to stumble out of the way while it tried to regain sight.

Crowe had a vague thought that went something like 'was I that stupid as a human?' and then shook it off because there were more important things to take care of. As he went after his bartender, he turned around for a brief moment and shot the creature between the eyes, but even that could not kill the beast. The damn things were getting too hard to exterminate.

When he caught up to the human he scooped him up without stopping, tossing him over his shoulder as he made for a way out of the woods. Vampires didn't have that fun ability to change into bats like people seemed to think, though on occasion he himself had been known to change into a large doglike creature, courtesy of a few people he'd known back in the old days.

"What the hell were you thinking?" he asked the boy.

The necklace hung around his fingers, its pendant swinging with each step the boy carrying him took. It was realy an amazing this, decorated intricatly with scribes and old latin writing. He couldn't quite make out all of it, though he did recognise the word 'luna'.

Blood dripped from the wound on his ankle, causing him to wince with the seering pain it induced. "I.. uh..." His words were cut short as he blacked out, collapsing limply onto the one beneath him. It didn't seem to matter to the stranger though, who kept running for a bit.

Crowe was concerned about the bite on the boy's leg, not sure if it would be enough to turn him into one of those killers. He suddenly took another route through the woods and was soon back at the cobblestone road, which he jogged down. He took some measures to make sure the creature would not find them, and then took the boy into his own house.

Locking the door and wiping his feet off he carried the boy to the bedroom and laid him down, cleaning the wound with a disinfectant before using his own blood to heal the spot up again. For a while he just sat by Damien's side, but he could feel himself getting hungrier by the minute.

The poor blonde lay helpless, his head rolling to the side, strands of hair sticking to the sweat stained skin of his neck. Light moans escaping his parted lips as his temperature began to rise. The pendant lay in his open palm, its words glowing lightly with the full moon. It was some form of spell that the beast was under, and this pendant had something to do with how late the beast turned.

His moans became softer as the blonde's temperature rose drasticly, the bite starting to get to him, though he wasn't to turn so quickly.
