Kalonas are vicious and deadly members of the soquili world. In this RP contest, take on the role of this ruby kalona. On the outside, he glitters with an intense hatred of a cold-blooded demon.. but is he?

Maybe he is a misunderstood character. Perhaps this kalona is different from others and actually has a loving heart. Then again, he is a kalona after all..maybe he is just a vicious heartless b*****d like the rest of them. It will be you, the player, who decides.

RP him in 3 paragraphs or less. By paragraphs, I mean a block of text..not an essay. The staff and I will then judge on who we feel RPs the kalona the most dynamic, interesting, and creative.

This contest ends on Saturday and I'll try to judge it on that day as well.

GOOD LUCK!

Rules
1. Only submit your own writing
2. No editing posts. I can check to see who does it..whoever does gets disqualified.
3. Use correct grammar and sentence structure. I'm not a nazi about this but I actually want to be able to read what you wrote. XD
4. No questions please.. just RP this kalona how you personally wish. There isn't a right or wrong way.
5. Keep the RP pg-13. <333

He woke from a startling dream. Haidar had always had that dream ever since he saw his father killed by his mother. How could the Kalona's be so evil. He didn't know. He pretended to be mean, to escape and hide the fact that he wasn't so sure about his roll. Watching his dad, so long ago, getting ripped up was enough blood for him. Even though his coat matched that of his fathers blood, which kept reminding him of the killings.

At times, he did feel like killing things, but he always held it back. He did his part to keep himself undercontrol. Yet no one else seemed to do the same. He watched many Kalona's kill innocent Soquilis without thinking how wrong it was. He stood up and shook the dust off of him. He didn't like sleeping in the cave he dweld. He thought if he told anyone, they'd kill him with out regret. He streatched. He started to make his way towards the entrance of the cave. It was quite dark and gloomy. Hard to see in if you weren't a Kalona. He saw many other Kalonas still sleeping. He always got up way before the rest.

He took a step out of the cave. Looking around he noticed three birds flying around. He smiled at them which looked more like a tiger trying to bair ones teeth at another. The birds flew away right when they saw him. Why were they afraid of him? Oh yeah, he was a Kalona after all. He sighed and walked out even more. More creatures around him started dashing away to hide from his fearous looking self. He really hated that, but couldn't stop being what he was. He had to laugh though, he hasn't done a reall mean thing, but they all ways run. He figured it was because they didn't want him to do anything bad to him. Perhaps things will change, once he finds that special someone. He hopes it won't be a Kalona seeing what happened to his father.

Sharp orange rays broke out over the far horizon, hitting the coat Zarcoas and spreading light in a thousand directions, scattering it about the Soquili lands. This was his favorite time of day. Halfways between darkness and light, where everything was in surreal beautiful and nothing was safe from his eyes. His coat shone brightly during these times, enabling him to confuse whom he wanted with slick fitted words. You should be asleep. Quiet you. I have no ask of your presence. Why are you so harsh. Lighten up. Joy in all hours. The world is kind. The world is a dark and bitter place for all. A dark place which I intend to harness with a malice as thick as blood. Such harsh words. You are cranky this morning! Tut tut. Go back to sleep.

The good Zar, Rin, had been there for as long as he could remember. She was everything he hated, every slip of the tongue. Every bit of mercy he showed to anyone. She was what he hated in the Soquili. What he hated in all, that weakness of heart that would get them all killed. Even now the blood of an innocent victim dripped from his legs, boding darkness for those who dared defiance. This feminine voice in his head kept him mad, made him insane, forced him apart and was his very weakness. At any moment she could slip, let forth a heart that wasn't so alight with fire that cast shadow instead of light. It was her that was his only fear, and it was this fear that would one day see his doom.

His gaze shifted towards this sun, a brightness to match his own pride. Black pupils narrowed as light flooded inwards and he watched the land below. His hooves were precariously poised on the edge of a cliff as red as his coat. It was here he could see his world. Watch all others as they weaved their way throughout. Take action on those who stepped over the line. Watch them all in amusement, for he was a god here, like he was supposed to be and no one could stop him. A sharp giggle came from the back of his mind. No one, except maybe Rin.

((Here I go!))

The glittering Kalona stood in the clearing. Who am I? he thought. A snake tried to cross his path, it's green scales standing out in the dirt. Unlike other Kalonas, he let it pass. "See you some other time." he half-hissed.
He felt an urge to gallop hard. Just for looks, he stomped his hooves and reared, then bolted into the lake. The cool water rushed over his legs. He dipped his muzzle in the water. How sweet it tasted! He noticed a fish and watched it swim.
Soon, night had fallen over the land. He stood in the grass, watching the moon. "Time to sleep." he moaned.

Rumble,the rubyred Kalona
I am stiff.Pain and fear are all I have known,so I cannot promise to be well-tempered.As I age things happen, that have caused me to lose my good demeanor so to speak.I am not heartless, not really. However there are those who do bring out the good in me.And they are soon taken away and then entire villages come out,to chase me with fire, and long hard sticks. They throw rocks at me,shoot me with arrows, and I never get to see my friends again.
Once the boy from the village had come to be found by me.He was such good company, and showed me how to see my reflection in the lake.He did not seem to care that I looked alot like the ones we shun. Then came his village.I suffered much more than bruises that day.I lost my only friend and my self respect.Okay I cannot say my own self respect, more respect for the twoleggers. They have become the ones I shun, now when they come near to me,I attack them first.Since I have no way to repel an attack from a village.Hit them and run.
The Kalona left the rock, not knowing if any had heard or would understand him.No he went on his lonely way, limping across the meadow in the twilight.Broken heartedly, and as awlays alone.Others would see him coming and get away from his path.He no longer reached out for any form of friendship.Going on he was to his next fight or battle.Inside he seethed with anger and hurt.

Ruby wings shifted in the summer sunlight, tilting to bring the Kalona in a low, sweeping arc across the plains. With the way the sun caught his hide, he looked like the very heart of a brightly-burning flame...or like a brilliant blot of blood on the clear blue sky. Eagle-sharp eyes scanned the land below, searching for prey.

Abruptly the stallion dove, mane whipping in the wind of his passage and tail lashing behind him. The deer in his sights hadn't a chance. Over they both went in a tumble of dust and blood, but only one arose when the dust had settled. Spitting out a mouthful of tan-furred hide, the ruby Kalona shook himself and bent his head down to feed.

But this was not without regrets. He could not control the carnivorous urges that sent him to the sky in search of prey. That was a part of his being, as much a part as his flesh and bone. His image sent others running in fear, particularly if they saw him feed...never caring to see if there was something more beneath the bloody exterior.

The ruby kalona stalked about the forest in a fiery mood like always. His temper matched that of his fiery glistening red ruby coat as he stalked about. Snorting aggravated that he found no one to torment or mess with. He truly was an evil kalona that had the looks and temper to match. Lashing his tail about in aggression as he hated all those who where not Kalona’s as they where below him and his kind. He reared and flapped his wings in a show of strength and superiority to all those who saw him in his magnificent fiery red ruby glory. Clash back down to the ground he let out a snarl of aggression and folded his wings back. “Let all those know who are not Kalona’s beware of me.” Saying that with a snarl into the wind, he stomped one his way to find who might be most unfortunate to meet his wrath.

Fires of Hell have taken over my life. Flames of which no one can extinguish. My heart a blackened ash of pain. That's how I came to be. I am Ash. Misery has followed me, and pain has ridden my back. I am here, and I am far gone.

My mental stability should not be questioned. I am stable. Stable as one could percieve me. I am as stable as I can be, and that is all I will say. My world is ash, flames, and fire. I was born to a world others run from.

Here I go again. With agony riding my back. I am here, trying to find a way to go. Am I truly evil as people percieve? Or just so far gone in my heart that it no longer matters to me. Whatever the answer. I shall wait.

(( I'll also be RPing another charavter in my RP, very sorry if it is too long sweatdrop ))

The kalona trotted off for some water, drinking it slowly he looked at his reflection. Snorting at it, she closed his eyes and continued drinking. Suddenly he heard a cry from a human, quickly looking up, his first reaction was to trace the sound and go to the area.

Hurt by tripping herself, the little girl couldn't move. She fell and one of her legs had hit a rock and started to bleed. Oh my god, this hurts so badly... Screaming for help she waited, hearing a few sounds by the bush, she looked up. To her surprise it was a dark red Kalona standing there, his coat the color of blood. Eyes went wide as they could, Allie, the native human didn't dare to move. Afraid that he was going to attack.

Raising an eyebrow at her, he wondered what was wrong with this girl Until he saw the blood, not only that but she was slowly inching away. He could so tell. Why the hell does everybody react this way... Snorting, he approached the girl.

Screaming more, she couldn't help it, he was coming closer. The color of him was already scaring her, now he was probably going to suck her blood and eat her.

Looking closely where she hurt herself, he then walked off and came back with something in his mouth. Spitting it out at her, it washed the blod away. Moving his head, making it look like he was nodding, he pointed towards the Kawani village with his nose. Showing her she can get help there. He then started to nudge her towards it. Realising she couldn't move, he stuck his head under her and lifted it, making the girl slide onto his back. Trotting back to the village, the kalona dropped her by a teepee, and he looked proud.

This Kalona is noting like the others... Remembering who he is, Allie never forgot him ever. He will always be her hero. "Thank you." She said softly as she rubbed her hand above his nose. Smiling at him, she waited for the stallion to leave before she goes and get help, just in case a native comes out and mistaken that the kalona had hurt her.

Pulling his head away from the girl's hand after a while, he turned his body and trotted off, hoping that this girl will tell everyone else that not all are as bad as the look. Just like the saying 'Never judge a book by it's cover, never judge anyone by their looks'.

((Rawr xD If any of the 's or "s are wacky, it's because I wrote it on Word))
The light of the blazing sun washed over the mountains, illuminating the cliffs and rocks Surkha called his home. His eyes narrowed, silver grey orbs scanning over the dull landscape around him. The Kalona stepped into the blaring sunlight, his red pelt shimmering in the soft glow of the midday light as he made his was down the rocky mountainside, reflective of his strong, yet dented ego. The clicking of his hooves was clear, cutting through the quiet stillness that had fallen over the gloom-filled mountains.

By now, Surkha had become accustomed to the eerie silence of his self proclaimed home. But there was a time, a time where it wasn’t so quiet. But that was long ago, when he was young, the times when he lived with other Kalona. His wings shifted, memories of the past were things he didn’t need, but couldn’t avoid, like a sickness. He had lived among family, friends, basking in pride. But he was not to live the life of a Kalona, that path was one that had been chosen not by his choice for his light forgiving attitude and for… He looked at his chest, where the proof of his casting out laid; the dream catcher, a thing any Kalona would never wear for reasons even he did not know. Sometimes he wondered if anyone knew.

But the past was behind him now, and he learned to live with it, whether he wanted to or not. His footsteps slowed and eventually came to a halt at the base of the mountains, standing before a slow moving river, staring down before his appearance. He hated it. His grim expression of his face that he could never change, though tried h always did, his demon-like wings and horns… His whole appearance never reflected his actual self. He sighed, bending down to take a drink, frowning. It was an old phrase, but affective. You can't tell a book by its cover.

'Humans!" grunted a blood red Soquili as he stood watching a small host of them traveling across the plain inwhich he lived. "Filthy mangy things." Turning his back from the wandering humans the male opened his leathery wings as if to take to the skies, but merely folded them again. Stomping a near black hoof he turned and watched the humans again. He knew not why he watched over this group, not after teh pain and hell their breed put him through. Years of torment, laughter, carrying their junk about, what good were they if they couldn't carry their oen stuff. But something... Something attracted his normally cold heartless glare, a young straggler of this group.

The ruby colored male turned his head to the side as he watched this younger human walk behind the others. His thick demon tail whipped around his hooves as he watched her. Her missmatched eyes gave the hint that she was most likely blind in one eye, that much he could tell. Her clothing seemed teh besty made, but others didn't reguard her as important, not the way they were acting around her. Shaking his head, crimson horns glittering in the fadding light over head. Advancing down teh hill the ruby Soquili headed in teh opposite direction of the humans, moving fast as to not attract unwanted, much unwanted attention.

The light faded as the group had set up a temperary camp in the plain, the young female remained away from hte rest sitting by a smaller solitary fire. His black eyes blazed even in the low burning fire and even from teh distance he stood at. The sudden flash from his eyes seemed to frighten the young human, though she didn't retreat from her small fire, she uttered not one sound even when her mouth opened to do so. 'Strange Human' he thought moving closer to get a better look at her. His crimson close glittered and gleamed in the fire light making him look like the fire itself. As he did get closer she backd away again. Lifting his head, the stallion snorted and reared, darker hooves slashing at the air before him as sharp jagged teeth were revealed as his mouth opened, wings flared at his sides. The human remained where she had backed to and stared in amazement. Coming to the ground on all fours he pawed at the ground lowering his head down to her level. 'Maybe they're all not the same?' he finally though as the human came closer 'Perhaps they've grown a bit?... Perhaps...'

Say what you will, I’ve already done horrible things that could make even the stoutest of warriors flinch and rash things that no drunkard could ever hope to outdo even if they were saturated on that ‘fire water’ I’ve so often heard mentioned. But being who I am, no one questions my motives; my behaviour. They always seem to attribute it to me being…well, the being that I am. Sometimes it is definitely easier that way. You do not need to explain your actions. You just do it.

But even an unsound mind would find ways and excuses to explain their actions. No one wants to bear the burden of knowing that what they did was wrong. Even killers will tell you that they did what they did for want of one thing or another. I am no different. The reason (probably one of the main ones) why I am behaving the way that I do is simply to follow my instinct to…have a herd. No self respecting herd of my upbringing would ever want it otherwise. I need to be strong. I need to stand out. I need to prove myself worthy of passing on my genes.

There goes that sound again. I know it all too well. It is the death rhythm played by the villagers when someone passes on. I’ve heard it often and the sound reminds me of who I am and…what I do. The villagers fear me but that is expected. I am a kalona after all and it is destined that I cause fear among the weak. Perhaps tonight the stiff warrior shall for one last time observe a parting dance. My dance. Upon his grave.

Kalona woke abruptly. His eyes scanned over his small sleeping area. Something was amiss. He moved onto his feet as his wings stretched out to the heavens then rest neatly tucked away beside him. He snarled softly as he took a step forward his crimson huff hit the ground with a small thud and then things around him trembled in fear.

His demon horned tail swished behind him as it seemed to have a mind of its own. Kalona stopped as he bared his fangs. There was something in the far distance that this ruby red male soquili did not like. His eyes flicked they seemed to take on a appearance of a black whole. Deep dark no emotion towards other only pain, torture, hurt and other deadly sins that one could think of.

Soon Kalona came upon the thing that had been disturbing his sleep. He ruffled his wings then shook his long scarlet mane. His ears twitched as he looked down at the thing. He stomped his foot in protest trying to get the thing to move but it didn't. Kalona stepped back a little then roared out it seemed. Suddenly the thing acted as it hissed the ran off far away.

The passion I posses is for killing and tempting the weak, but I have an unyielding love for torture. Most think I am cruel, intolerable, or sickening. No, I am merely better than they are. There’s no denying it.

I do have another side though, a lighter side so to speak. But this is a different type of light. This is the side I will bring only to those who are deserving of its wrath. Those who are truly tempted by me will see this side. Sin only leads to this me.

By now I’m sure you’re wondering who I am or maybe you already know. Some dare to call me Satan, but I am only called that by the tempted ones. Most just call me, “My King.” And that’s what I am. I am Lucifer, the King of everything you want, love, and will ever desire.

The sun was shineing down on him with all the intensity of a furnace, yet for some reason he just didn't seem to notice or mind. Heck, why should he, afterall he was standing in the midst of his favorite hang out. The intensely scalding desert where the goodie goodies would leave him alone. Squinting his eyes into crimson slits he watched as a lost foal stumbled toward him, and he gave a snort of disgust. How did it always happen. The little one gets lost and wanders here of all places.

This time he decided he would go toward the child, see what the foal needed, and deal with it. Moving through the sand he headed to the little one and lowered his head, listening to the whineing cries of the lost foal. He nodded and smiled, giving all signs of being kind, gentle and careing. Perhaps he wasn't so bad afterall? It could happen, maybe he had a kind heart inside that waited to be shown.

Then the child finished, the words were said and it was time to act. He nodded again and lowered his head, looking like he was about to nuzzle the small one. Such kindness couldn't happen though. I warned them.. He hissed, teeth showing. Keep their kids to themselves! That was the last words the small foal ever heard as the ruby Kalona impaled the child, ending its misery and lonliness. He was not one to trust.. ever.
