An inquisitive fleabitten gray mare trotted about outside her yurt-area, awaiting the return of her dearly beloved owner. After a while of the burning sun beating down on her, Lesley's mind started to slip. "Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me... and really bad eggs... Drink up, me hearties, yo ho!" she sang out, prancing and dancing, sidestepping and crabwalking. She had no clue where she had heard that, but for some reason it had stuck with her all of her life. Maybe she had heard it on the voyage from the Americas? There were some awful rugged-looking horses on the ship... she shrugged it off, continuing to sing.

An odd variation of Tobiano. How often had Innath heard that. This place, this hot sandy place. It was an odd variation of home. It couldn't be all bad though. He'd heard other horses as he waited for sleep at night.

Now was his chance to get out and stretch his legs and he welcomed the opportunity graciously. The rest of the horses he'd arrived with, mares and stallions, were still inside. Peace and quiet, something Innath lived his life by.

But the quiet was broken by a peaceful song. Well, perhaps not peaceuful, but it sounded sweet the way it was sung.

Lesley swirled around with her eyes closed, her tail high in the air and her mane dancing in the wind. "Yo ho, yo ho..." she continued to sing, mimicking the voices of the rugged stallions on the ship. She dared not look around her, for fear of finding herself on she ship again. Ah well, it wasn't that bad of a trip... the only problem being one particularly nasty stallion.
She sighed as she stopped singing, remembering the stallion on the ship that had taught her the odd song. He had the weirdest tobiano markings she had ever seen, but she wouldn't trade them for anything else. Oh how she missed him. She ended the last part of the song before trotting off to find water. "Drink up, me hearties, yo ho."

A familiar song. As Innath whirreled around a group of Yurts he saw a familiar mare and the source of the song. With a grin he made his way to her at a lope.

"And if we've already drunk?"

The lovely Lesley. And she was so near. What a curious coincidence.

Lesley didn't even bother to turn her head back to talk to the stallion. "Then you'll be drinking some more, me heartie," she replied slyly, turning her head just enough so she could visibly wink at him.
Now she turned all the way around to face him. Innath had obviously changed in size, or appearance, or something, for he didn't look the same as he had on the ship. "It's good to see you again, Innath," Lesley said quietly. "I had no idea you were coming around here."

And indeed he had changed. He'd put on weight, which was something Akim teased him about. Innarth disliked ships and was constantly gettin seasick on them. On the voyage from America to Arabia, which had involved switching ships on various occasions, Innath had become quite underweight.

"Good to see you aswell. I had no idea I'd be here either, had I I would have sent word ahead to instal air conditioners."

Lesley laughed a bit. "Once an upper-class horse, always an upper-class horse," she mumbled, shaking her head. "Well, anyways, come on. The drinkin' hole awaits, me heartie!" She started walking to the drinking hole, purposefully swishing her tail and raising her head a little higher. She had just found her first good friend!
"What've you been up to in Arabia?" she asked him suddenly, tossing her mane out of her face. "I bet you've been sweating like a pig! Kidding, kidding... Or am I?"
PostPosted: Thu Jul 13, 2006 7:03 pm

"I'm starting to think I can't sweat. It gets hot and I'm just standing there, tossing my head to watch my hair swish" he joked. "But them I get ridden. Perhaps my riders are secretly dumping water on me while I carry them in circles?"

He followed her at a slight prance. Lesley was fun. Much better company than Akim. It was good to get away from too competitive of friends every once in a while.

"That's always something to ponder about..." she joked, laughing a bit. "They always make me keep my head forward when they're riding me, so I can't turn back to look." She peered across the desolate sands, searching for the watering hole. When she spotted it, she galloped towards it and thirstily thrust her whole head into the water.
While she was drinking, Lesley had time to think. Innath had grown into a fine young stallion... and she was definitely interested.

"Exactly. It must be a conspiracy." His eyes twinkled in humor. As the water hole came into view he couldn't help some initial reserve. Water from the ground? He shook his head. It was like a tropical vacation, why not?

Galloping casually after her he pawed the ground before lowering his head to drink. The water was so nice and cool. "Makes you want to roll in it. But the fish would probably kick."

Lesley lifted up her head. "Yeah, I'd watch the fish... they hurt for some reason." She continued to drink, letting her mind wander on other subjects. Did Innath have foals? Was he single? Was he even able to breed?
While she was thinking, she let one thought slip, "Man, having foals would be so much fun..." And immediately as she let it out, she regretted it.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 13, 2006 7:42 pm

Innath couldn't help but laugh. "I've heard it's more fun for the stallion than the mare. Because the mare is the one that has to carry the foals for months then get them out." Among other things. He'd heard plenty of reasons that stallions had more fun in the process. Gah. Those silly older stallions, gibbering of anything they could remember to anyone willing to listen. Why was the thought on her mind though?

Lesley laughed herself. "Eh, I think the excitement would outweigh the whole fun part. I mean, it's more fun to be excited then to actually birth the foals... from what I've heard." She thought long and hard for a moment at what she imagined her foals to be like, and oddly enough, they both had that hint of Innath in them.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 13, 2006 7:52 pm

"Hmm. You've got a point. Why? Have you got some gorgeous stud after you? Oh, I'm so jealous." He joked. But he would have burst laughing if she said yes. Lesley would have pretty foals. What would his foals be like? Silly little things, they'd have big egos and know how to flip their manes attractively even before they first stood. Hah. If he had foals.

Lesley cocked her eyebrow. "I don't know if he's after me, but I know that I am for sure after him." Haha. Trick him... that's the way to go. Play the old, "I'm not telling you, but it might be you..." card. She laughed a little shook her head. "But I doubt he's after me." She winced a bit at the realization that Innath would probably never have foals with her.
