As a generally patient person, I will try to bear all sorts of irritating situations that come my way. However, I would like to make a few things clear to individuals who wish to join this guild:
arrow As a visitor, you are allowed to chat with people freely in the guild. If you follow the rules and guidelines, no disciplinary action will be taken against you and you can continue to chat as you wish.
arrow Joining the guild and becoming a member is a wholly different issue. Although I try to be understanding, I will not allow every applicant to join the guild. Denying you membership does not mean that I hate you and want you to go away forever. If I decline your current application, that means there was something you did something incorrectly, or I don't understand or think you have valid reasons for wanting to join.
arrow When applying for this guild, attempt to make your application as impressive as possible. Writing some sort of vague reason for why you want to join on your application will probably result in a rejection.
arrow In accordance to the above rule, anyone who has multiple misspellings, grammatical errors, or generally bad English in their application will be denied. I am not being biased towards foreign individuals who may not be very accomplished in the English language. Most modern languages have their own grammar, punctuation, etc., and it's simply a lack of respect not to take 5 seconds to type out "thanks" instead of "thx," and reach over to press the "Shift" key to properly capitalize sentences. This is just my personal pet peeve.
Some very words taken from the mouth of one of Gaia's moderators (found in the Newbie Advice Thread ) :

exclaim Talking in NetSpeak and abbreviations (like ppl, plz, u, y, wut, k, and so on), or all lowercase letters, may give other people a bad impression. If you type out the whole word of what you want to say, people will understand you better and think better of you. 3nodding

exclaim Spam. Spam can only be done in Chatterbox, and isn't allowed anywhere else. Spamming can get you in trouble with moderators, and other people won't like you very much if you do.
Posting nonsense symbols, words, and letters counts as spam. Posting off-topic posts in forums that they don't belong in is considered spam too.

arrow BE FOREWARNED, this is not your usual RPG. If you wish to play with us, you may NOT have superpowers of ANY sort. It doesn't matter if you can justify doing backflips while throwing knives to hit targets; that just isn't normal. You may NOT be some sort of supernatural creature (i.e. vampire, werewolf, etc.). You MUST be some sort of normal human attempting to deal with the strange world the GM has created. In comparison to Pokemon or Street Fighter, we would be more like the Harvest Moon of video games. If you want to know why we operate this way, feel free to read information provided in the RPG thread.
arrow If you wish to heighten your chances of being accepted into the guild, chat in the forum beforehand to acquaint yourself to our ways and manners. I will likely approve someone who has shown themselves to be loyal to our group.
arrow To prove that you have read all of these rules, include the following message at the end of your application after you have written why you wish to join: "Chocolate syrup and strawberry ice cream are a bad combination."
arrow ONLY guild members are allowed to role-play in the Elemental Spirits RPG. NO EXCEPTIONS.
