A great FPS that manages to keep most of the great gameplay of the first, and makes up for lost elements with stunning graphics, fun weapons, and continuing story line.
Half-Life 2 Is a great PC/XBox First Person Shooter, brought to you by the now corrupted company Valve. The game play, such as movement and fighting style, is the same as it was in the first one, if not improved. It has the same basic enemies, replacing the Recon military personell with mysterious Combine soldiers, and the Xen creatures with more Head crabs. The game lacks bosses, and is missing many creatures from the first half-life, completely leaving out many.
It makes up in a way, for the lost parts, by adding an ere of mystery, you just being slow teleported to onto a train, continuing VERY smoothly from the first, and using the stunning realistic graphics and physics engine dubbed ":Source".
Along with the physics engine, which adds Gravity, magnetism, friction, etc. comes the great and novel Gravity Gun! One of the funnest weapons acheivable in Half-Life 2. ALthough there is no laser gun (cant remember exact name) there are a verioty of others, although i beleive there are less than the original.
The story is confusing, being based in a "safer" city 17, where it seams the Alien problem was taken care of, yet the people live in fear of both the Aliens, and the Communistic Combine control. ending in complete confusing and termoil so that Valve can make money by easily adding episodes, with only about 4 or so hours of gameplay, and charging 20$ each. Half-Life 2 is a great game, and worth 40 or 50$ if you have a computer that can run it. but continuing with the "episodes" is so far a rip off.
Although Valve has been corrupted, they managed to keep Half-Life 2 a stunning awsome experience, similar to the first in gameplay and story, and awsomely revamped with an all new engine.
