Spatterdash

The defining sitcom of the alternative comedy era. It's a bit patchy, but on the other hand, it's got so much to love: Anarchy! Explosions! Musical interludes from ace 80s bands like Madness and Motorhead! Farting Glaswegian hamsters! Rik Mayall back when he was really really pretty!

So, anyone else a fan, or is it just me? It is one of those shows that divides people; none of my mates 'got' it as such, but I think it's great.

I have never heard of this show.

BBC America is too retarded to show it. evil

Oh right then, I'll explain.
It was made in the 80s (first series was made in 1982, the second in 1984), starring a bunch of people who were young and exciting and different back then, but who are all middle-aged now.

This explains it all pretty well. There's some clips as well, though you've got to have Realplayer to watch them (why the BBC insists on using Realplayer is anyone's guess).

They showed it once. That's how I heard of it. Then I guess it got replaced by Monty Python, which was replaced by Benny Hill.

Of course, it's all a matter of personal taste, and my tastes are odd. But dammit, if I have a fondness for shouty little blokes from weird 80s sitcoms, there's nowt I can do.

Yay Amazon. Both series for only $53.99... wait. $53.99? That's a bit steep.

Though adjusting for exchange rates, it's quite reasonable. Probably less than I paid for the two series separately here in the UK.

And you get extras. That's ridiculously unfair. We don't get extras in bloody Britain, and yet the Americans do. Bah.
