The enormous dark castle that was home to Garin's leader and all of it's military commanders was housed in a large valley whose only entrance or exit was a winding road out through at the opposite end of the castle itself. The town was spread out, thriving, and they made many of the goods used when the soldiers went into battle.
The castle itself was constructed out of dark grey, almost black stones that gave it sort of an ominous look, but also hid it at nightfall from being seen by Johann's dragon. It had many spires and towers, and even more balconies. The largest was near Kasch's room, the perfect size for his dragons to land on when they reported, but too small for the dragon of Johann.
Kasch, the lord of Garin, stood upon this balcony now and stared up at the night sky. The gargantuan wings on his back seemed to disappear, the black fading into the black and it was hard to see anything but his face and chest. He was unaccustomed to wearing shirts, and so he generally just didn't do it.
"Drea!" he barked.

The woman whose name was roared appeared from behind the balcony doors. She stepped softly although the pointed heels of her shoes still made a clicking noise with her steps. "Yes, my lord" she replied cooly as she approached him from behind. Her palms held together before her, her fingers entwined, she absently played with them as she drew near to Kasch.

"What news of Johann?" There hadn't been much to report lately, Imre had been keeping to himself and rarely left his precious city. That was fine by Kasch, except that he couldn't ignore the nagging feeling that told him that his brother was up to something. Sure he was considered the god of light, but even good needed a little bit of darkness to defeat the 'evil' it parried with.
The different countries had different opinions of the 'gods' of course, some thinking that Kasch was an insane radicalist, others believing he was the dark savior who would gain them prosperity. Some believed that Imre was a pretty face with no strategic mind and too soft a heart for if someone tried to take over their entire continent, an outsider, and of course, others believed that he would deliver them and bring them closer to the king of the gods. Whichever side you were on, you knew the war would not end well..
Kasch, however, was well aware that some of his men were loyal to him not out of respect or belief in his might, but out of their own personal needs. He didn't care, so long as they were loyal.

"My apologies, sier (sp?). I couldn't get much information on what was happening in Johann. All I can say is that the outer lands are too calm and silent, and strangely, I've been unable to locate any cities. With my experience and knowledge of magic I can almost safely say that they may be using a powerful spell to mask the entire area."
Drea stated drolly, walking up to Kasch's side then looking into his eyes from almost directly before him. She couldn't directly stare into his eyes though, thanks mostly to the darkness of the night. Slight anger was visible on her face but not because of any particular person. She just wore that look sometimes for unknown reasons.

"My brother doesn't need magic, he needs camouflage." There were ways to hide entire cities just by building them with the same color as the area around. It wasn't like they'd be able just to walk around in Johann, there were ways to tell who one of them was and Drea's face, like Kasch's own, was well known there so that they could not spy on them. It hadn't really escalated into a war yet, this brotherly feud, but the day was coming and everyone knew it.
"Any news of their dragon?"

"No, master. None... I believe they may have erected a landing platform for a dragon but I'm lost as to if they've even tried to obtain one." She became silent again. A half-smirk crossed her face as a cool night breeze began to blow through the Citadel's area, brushing their respective hair and feathers softly.

"They have one." His own dragons had spotted him almost a week ago, and he was larger than they were by some amount. They hadn't spotted anymore, but Imre would probably have figured out by now that the dragons were keeping an eye on things and wouldn't let it go on too much longer.
Relations were stressed as it was, and he should probably go see his brother soon to try and avoid the impending war. He doubted it would pan out, but he could always try.

"Alright, I'll agree with that. So... any plans for tomorrow, sire? Or can I have the day to powder my face and make myself prettier just to mess with the peasants?" She inquied in a sarcastic tone. Drea sometimes like to talk this way and dared to do it to Kasch himself. She meant nothing personal when she asked something like this. It was all a poor, curious attempt to entertain herself while she just stood where she was, watching the king of the dark land.

"I always have plans." Though Drea was probably the one that was closest to Kasch, in a sense, she knew nearly nothing about him and neither did anyone else. They only knew what he showed them through his actions toward his brother and other aggressors. The last person that had attempted to weasel his way into Kasch's 'inner circle' had his head bitten off by a dragon who didn't like his deceit.
"You know better than to mess with citizens." He looked into her eyes for a few moments and then side stepped around her, putting his arms on the railing of the balcony.

Drea half-grinned despite his suggestion. "You don't mean that mi' lord." She sighed aloud then turned around to look at him and spare the stress on her neck. An eyebrow rose as she realized he had become almost invisible with the darkness of the night and his black, gargantuan wings completely hiding him from plain sight.

"Don't mean what?" He did always have plans, and she did know better than to mess with the citizens. Hell, she probably shouldn't be leaving the palace what with how close to war they were. The generals could sort out the mess in his cities and the like, Drea was needed to sort out the castle security more than anything else.

She chuckled lightly-- darkly. Confusion is nice sometimes. "Your suggestion; don't mess with the citizens. I'll adhere to it if that makes you happy. Now can you give me a clue as to where you are? I can't distinguish you from the night, and it makes me awkward; the feeling that I'm talking to myself out loud." Drea grew slightly concerned that she no longer saw who she was speaking to, and it never looked good for anyone to be seen talking to themselves or someone else who was invisible. She conjoured a chair which emerged from pink flowing flames; into which she sat and asked innocently "Would you like a seat, my lord?"

"I prefer standing. And I would like you to adhere to my suggestion." He folded his wings behind him so that she could at least see the pale skin of his arms and a bit of his sides. It didn't make him terribly more visible, since his face was still hidden, but at least she didn't seem to be talking to herself as much. Not that it mattered, no one came out here unless he ordered it.

"I will, I will. And how little I can see now makes me more comfortable talking with you out here." She sat back in her chair and closed her eyes, breathing deeply and trying to dismiss everything from her mind that was there. She succeeded in removing everything except Kasch and herself from her mind. This didn't immediately bother her, though. Seconds later, the woman opened her eyes toward Kasch but not her mouth. She no longer care to speak unless spoken to.

Kasch was quiet for a long time, the wind blowing almost constantly ruffled his feathers more than his short black hair, the tips of his wings gently floating up and down at the wind moved. "Why do you serve me Drea?"
