http://www.no-borders.org/Here's the deal, kiddos. There's a big May Day Celebration going on at Detroit's very own infoshop (No Borders, formerly known as Idle Kids). It's a place where we can all get together and have some fun. I know that at least two or three of you in the guild are also from Michigan, so you should be there. If you need a ride, I'll happily volunteer to do the honors. ~Erik Detroiters: PM me if you plan on going, or need a ride or anything. May day is the international worker's day. It's the day to celebrate and be in solidarity with workers and let labor issues take center stage. It's history goes back to the haymarket riot in 1886(? i think that's the date) there was a labor protest and someone threw a bomb(some think it was an agent provocatuer, a cop stirring up s**t) and killed a cop and injured some people. Immediatley after there was a huge scare and the cops arrested 8 anarchists and tried them without any evidence and convicted them to death. I think it was 5 that were hanged? and the rest got life. Those that survived were eventually pardoned. These individuals are now called the haymarket martyrs.Course the only people that talk about the haymarket part of may day are the anarchists, but it's still an important day since it's the day were we celebrate the workers of the world and their struggle.
It's also Beltane if your into pagan religions.

I just started at my new job and they already have me working wedensday through sunday for the rest of my vacation, and then for the whole weekend and wedensday for the rest of ...the time I'm there.

Oh damn... I was busy this weekend with Sun-Fest. Plus I'm just getting use to the Tri-rails.. I finally rode one.. w00t! Anyway Next Dollar After person who's name I forgot again, can you keep me updated with shows that are coming into town? I'm out of the loop... sweatdrop
