Deep inside the sacred mountain of Joahnn was a deep cavern. Kept cool by the spring water that flowed across the paths that wind here and there, forming a tangled web of trails, a complex map wouldn't ever siffice to find your way around.
The closer you get to the main chamber, the hotter the air becomes, heavy with a strong presence of power. As you rewach a large pair of stone doors, it becomes painfully obvious that only powerful souls have ever been allowed to enter this place, and only a select few were permitted to leave.
The large doors are carved with dragon speak, an ancient language long since dead as the dragons of old were slain in conquests, and for their precious hides. They stand high against the caverns ceiling, making it impossible for one to push them open, so other means are to be used to enter this secluded place.

Imre watched the young man in his prayer, knowing that this was something that brought people comfort. People believed that Imre was the innocent one of the two brothers, though this wasn't entirly truth, both brothers had their faults, and Imre's was not truly caring about mortal life. It came and went, such fragility, so it didn't bother him when a life was extenguished by any means other than by another mortal.
"I'll be with you up until the first fork.. then you're on your own. Be weary of the dangers in your path. Use your talents wisely as everything is watching you, and should you reach the end, I shall be there waiting for my doors to open once more." His tone was oddly emotionless as he spoke, a bit cold and unfeeling, like a king who had lost the ability to think of himself anylonger.

With Imre beside, Gene finished his prayer and strode into the forbidden cavern, his steps beginning to echo off the walls already and the outer light beginning to lose its grip around them. Without a word he chanted a short spell and drew a simple sybol in the air before him, then let his palm lay open in front of him. Directl at the bottom of the symbol he drew (for a flame) a fire ignited in his palm and illuminated the next four metres ahead of him. gene became thankful at himself for having at least some convenient skills such as this.
Before he came up to the fork he turned around and asked "Sire, does the cavern hold dangers such as collapsing floors, and relentless boulders? A friend I once spent time with told me about things such as these. until now I don't know if to believe they are true or his imagination was very wild?"

Imre stood silent for some time, thinking over the previous statement. Is this what todays youth though of as danger. "True danger is what is concealed in the darkness, that is unseen and ever watchful. Danger is what causes the hairs on the back of your neck to stand, what whispers you name before it strikes. That is what lies ahead of you my son..."

Gene gulped as he took in the information that was practically draped around him like a blanket. "Wow... I still have so much to learn, in-- and outside of runology." He momentarily looked ahead, trying to make up his mind on which way to go. He thought long and hard for this choice, possibly one of the most important choices he'd have to make throughout the journey, was which way to start.
"Alright, I choose to go right. I guess this where we depart, sire." He finished with a frown, saddened that he had to leave the king so soon, but intrigued inside as to what lay ahead of him good or bad. Then came that moment of destiny. He took that first fateful step forward to the right...

"Not in spirit, my son. I'll be with you through it all, and I look foreward to the outcome." And with that he departed to the left, leaving the boy on his own. Truth was, the left path would have led him straigh there, but he had chosen, and he was less likely to disappoint by choosing the path less taken.
Imre's wings seemed to glow in the darkness, and then they were gone, as were his steady footsteps down the solid path. Only his last words echoed through the walls themselves, drifting through the hot air. "Choose wisely, as I have great plans for you..."

Gene treaded carefully down the bumpy path. The air began to lose its warmth behind him and he could feel it, the further he went the colder it became but he didn't take his eyes off the road ahead... or the walls. He walked slowly, examining the floor and walls for anything out of the ordinary with the aid of the brightly-burning palm-fire.

The path forked once more, but this time, there were two doors, at each stood a small little man, seemingly having bunny ears. They were truly paculiar in this place, but they had purpose, and as the sound of footsteps drew closer, the snapped to attention, standing stiff and alert.
"Hault!" They spoke. "This is where your first test lies. Behind one of these doors is safety, a direct path to your destination" Spoke the one attired in blue, standing at the left door. "And behind the other, is dangers numerous and deadly!" Spoke the one in red, standing at the door on the right.
"But there is but one catch" "One of us always lies" "And one of us -always- tells the truth!" "But you can only ask one question!" "So, what is it going to be my lord?"

"Lord? I am not your lord... but I'm here to test my loyalty so I may serve him without doubt."
Gene thought over the situation for a bit. "One always lies, one never lies. He took his time to picture the outcome of his first question. He found himself mentally being tied up and hung at how many of his example questions got bad or unsure answers. He sat down and crossed his legs, going into a trance. "Alright, I'll asky you guys one question, I may have more if i don't fully come to terms with your reply."
Gene smiled at the two old brothers for a bit. "Okay, whic door honestly leads to sanctity (sp?) and king Imre's unknown room?" He asked, the question was but a test to verify their reaction. Then Gene thought about what the borther said... ((after))

"Then that's your question? Seems like you're cheating yourself young one... you should first choose who to address before you go about asking..." The blue brother laughed maniachly to himself. "You really do have a lot to learn if this is the case..." The red watcher laughed as well, only in a calmer manor.

Gene wasn't deterered by what he received as answers. But they made sense. he thought for a bit again... then asked "Alright, you, in the blue, which way leads to Imre's room?" "You in the red, if the door behind your borther leads to Imre's room then surely, does that mean that the door behind you leads to certain death?" at the end of his questions Gene held his chin and snapped a finger. He cracked a half-smirk and pointed toward the brother that answered first.

The one dressed in blue smiled happily. "You'de be right. His was leads to doom, while my door leads to Imre." And with that, the red one smiled as well. "He's absolutly right, I lead to danger, and his path is the safer of the two"

"But how do I know for sure, gentlemen... when you in the red always lies. In case you haven't noticed, you answered my qestion truthfully." Gene lowered his hand and pointed for a brief period at Red.

"Of coarse he tells the truth... after all if one of us lies, how can either be trusted?" The man in blue laughed, having to hold his sides to keep srom falling over. "Choose wisely, my lord, for a wrong turn could get you completly turned around"

"But if your borther tells the truth, and one of you lies, namely you, then it would mean that you sir, are the liar. You said your way leads to Imre's room whereas your brother says his way leads to certain death." Gene spoke to Blue quizzingly and looked to Red before continuing,
Gene had come to thinking repeatedly over his getting Red to answer the question, and agreed with Gene's question. Now it seemed they both told the truth. "In the red, tell me again which way leads to Imre's room? It seems to have slipped my mind." His voice was mellow and scientific for the moment.
