I'm reading an awesome ItaSaku fanfic where Sakura makes a deal to heal his eyes in exchange for getting Sasuke back. heart _ heart
He's almost blind....It's because he hardly ever deactivates the Sharingan except when he sleeps, and it effects him very harshly....Cuz he has it activated all day, it damages his eyesight, and when he sleeps it heals a lot more slowly than it gets hurt.

I think I'm reading a similar fanfic... but Sakura joins the Akatsuki in order to heal his eyes. I don't know the title off-hand, but it's really good.

Kinda spolier so I won't risk it:
He doesn't go completely blind, but his vision is worsining due to him over using his sharingan. But he isn't 'blind'.
