I'm creating this thread because I think it could be a really good thing if we post fresh (or not so fresh) story/character ideas here. That way, others can garner inspiration from them and perhaps expand on them and make them even better than they originally were.
So, let us gather our seeds of thought together, shall we?

Ooh, this sounds like a lovely idea. ^^ I've made the thread into a sticky. heart
Now let's see if I can dig up some of my characters in need of work... Hmm... Let's see here. Aha! Found one. ^^
So far all I've really come up with is her name, Ashka, and that she was sired by one of my friend's characters. So, she's a vampire. I'm thinking she should be very... obedient. You know? That's all I can really think of, and that makes for a boring roleplay if I use her without my friend's character. Any ideas?

Female vampire, fairly new to the undead state... And obedient.
I've got ideas, but I also don't want to hi-jack the idea altogether, so I'll just list some of them.
-> She behaves as though she'd never listen, but can't help but obey regardless
Or, -> She behaves entirely obediently, but is therefore more of a zombie and unable to perform tasks requiring any sort of initiative. (This'd be harder to play for fun, methinks. It's more the minor NPC type.)
-> I'm seeing red hair and conservative clothing. Perhaps secretary-like clothes.
-> In addition I see her as a foreigner with a bad grasp on English. Whether this'd be shown by a powerful accent or by misuse of grammar (and thereby saying some funny things?) doesn't matter to me. Ashka does sound slightly Russian.
-> Either extremely geeky or extremely flirtatious. Or BOTH. Ooooh, that'd be fun to figure out.
-> Either not-too-skinny-looking but bony, or highly attractive, but with the annoying fat pouch at her hips.
-> Inordinately tall
Other thoughts teased me... however, they're gone now.

Ooh, lovely ideas. I forgot to mention I had figured out her appearance, and how she had been before she'd been changed, didn't I? Damn.
Before being changed, she was a drug addict and I can't currently remember how she looked. .__.
Oddly enough, the roleplay entailing her changing took place in another country, somewhere in Europe that I can't quite remember.
Maybe if you knew something about her sire, it would help? I can't say I know awfully much, accept that he's torturous to his "victims". Extremely so. So, when he changed her, she was OD'd on some sort of drug, I can't remember which (God I need to find that roleplay) and thusly collapsed in the streets of the town. He found her and took her back to his "domain" so to speak. She was tortured, certainly, but near dying anyway. So he turned her, and because she was high, she can't recall any of what had happened. I think she might view him as something of a saviour.
And that's the brief history of her. But I'm not concerned with her history at the moment. I think the first idea, the rebellious-yet-obedient one sounds really good considering her past. ^^

Haha, well then...
-> I'm seeing paranoia. Drug addiction does that to you - at least, certain drugs do.
-> Still does drugs, even though vampirism took away her need for them/prefers the blood of people who are high at the time/oddly enough, vampirism didn't actually take away her drug addiction(s)
-> She's... obsessed with pirates? (I have no idea where this came from, but I love the idea. lol )

Ooh, paranoia. I like it.
She does come across as a bit of a Lush, doesn't she? That sounds good... I think I'll go with that. xD
A pirate obsession? How... random. whee Maybe I can work that in. ^^
