Merci looked down at Fauve as she finished shoving her equipment into her pack. She knew that they were after an emerald, and that it might be dangerous. She was worried about taking her wayward ward with her but she couldn't afford to leave her behind with anyone.
Merci packed her pistols, two boot knives, a set of throwing knives and extra ammo for her weapons. She also had rope, dried food, a compass that Kali had passed to her, what she could get of a map of the area, and extra clothes for her and Fauve. She checked through her things and bit her lip, she would like to have a flashlight.
Fauve looked down at her own bag and then up at Merci, she'd packed up their journal, and her juggling balls, she had a more reasonable set of clothes, even though she was horrified at pants. Her hair wasn't down like it usually was, instead Merci had braided it up to keep it out of her face. She lifted up the bag and threw it over her shoulder. She had some fruit for Inathe and the dagger Merci'd given her before. Around her neck was her necklace with the stones that granted her some form of protection.
Merci took Fauve's hand and lead her little girl out of the house and across the common ground to knock on Cinder's front door. She didn't know who else was invited to go but Ice had told her that Cinder was going as well so it was a good place to start. She waited a little impatiently on her front doorstep.

*Cinder popped the door opening hearing someone there. Seeing it was Merci' she smiled*
Come on in, I am just finishing up with packing a bag.
*looking down at her bag Cinder starting filling it again, she had a warm blacket packed, rations for four people for a week, clicking a flashlight to make sure it was working well she then threw it in the bag. Binoculars, a compass, a first aid kit, then a water canteen followed the rest into her bag. Deciding that they may need them she threw a couple of vacuum packed bed rolls in the bag, along with heating packs. Then looking over herself she made sure her hip blaster was securely in it's holster, she then did the same with her stiletto in her boot, well Merci' waited she slid her father's stinger in the sleeve of her jacket.*
*Kasai fummed a bit over his pack, he really should have more stuff he thought. Looking down he saw the things he had brought with him, an extra shirt, moist wipes, some snacks, a flashlight of his own, he then threw a slim laptop in the top of his pack, Cinder had given it to him to practice on and keep a journal, then some rope - he was sure he had heard somewhere it was important for this sort of thing. Then after a few moments of though he threw Mycrofts base unit into his bag as well.* Don't want to leave you behind. *he projected at the base*
Sai, he can't hear you when you do that. Plus, we don't need the base I have the portable unit. *slaps on the compact wrist device of Mycrofts on her arm*
You never know...we might need him.
*sigh* Alright *worrying a bit about Kasai not understand what Mycroft actually was Cinder dropped a small tool kit into her bag, well she though optimistically you never knew when you would need a hologram*
*looking at Kasai Cinder makes sure his boots are tied tight and hands him his necklace with the stone on it, then she tightens a dagger around his waist* Make sure not to use the dagger unless you have to.
*nods and says in a serious voice* I won't.
*looks over at Merci'* Do you have everything? We can take the hoverbike the first part of the way, it can easily hold us and the children.

Merci looked down and ruffled through her pack, "Ummm.. I didn't have a flashlight... thats about it.. I mean between the two of us I'm sure we have enough." She glanced down at Fauve and then up at Cinder "I know a little bit about field medicine when it comes down to it.. oh... maybe some tarps? I mean if it starts raining or something ponchos would be nice to keep at least the children dry.. other then that I think we'll be fine." Merci pulled out the map of the area she had gotten before. "This is where we should be going, I'll let you get a good look at it since you'll be driving."
Fauve looked at Kasai and put her pack down, she was dressed somewhat differently then normal. Instead of her skirt, she had on some pants. A warm shirt, and regular shoes, she didn't exactly look like the priss people bill her to be right now. Of course she also looked as angry as a wet cat about it too.
Merci unfolded the map and handed it over to Cinder "I'll go ahead and get our packs situated on the bike while you look over the area. Shouldn't take us to long to get there. Trick is I don't know how far down this emerald thing is, or what we'll come across down there. I know that snakes, and Rade could be the least of our worries." Merci picked up the packs and headed out to get them strapped to the bike so they could all still fit on it comfortably.

*Cinder looked down at the map trying to take it all in, the route looked alright some of the areas looked like the terrain may give them problems, but overall it looked like a good route. Cinder folds the map up and tucks it in the pocket of her vest. Looking around she grabs up a few disaster ponchos, she had picked them up on Karvetta, that place rained almost all day, after a while she realized that keeping the water out was useless and the ponchos had gone unused. Remembering what Merci' said about flashlights she grabbed another one up just in case.*
*Kasai followed Merci' and Fauve out to the hoverbike.* So uhm, you dressed different for this trip? *Kasai though Fauve might be in a bad mood and was trying to tread carefully. He didn't think Merci' knew about the compartments on the bike, so he walked up and popped the side areas open.*
*With one last thought Cinder grabs a hand sized flat package from the counter, she hoped they wouldn't need it but if they did, the tent would be very useful.*
*walks out the door*
Alright guys I think we are ready once we get everything packed up. I grabbed an extra flashlight, some poncho things I picked up on a run, and a colapsing tent. I think our bases are pretty much covered. *looks over those around the bike* Actually there is one more thing, I plan to try and get there quickly so...*pops open yet another compartment by the head of the bike, inside are four sets of goggles, Cinder takes out three* You might want these for your eyes. *passes them out the other three, Cinder already has a pair that are up in her hair, they hardly ever leave her person*
Merci' I think we should put the kids in the middle, it will be safer that way.
((I am not sure when I will be able to post next...I have to go to a funeral and where I am going computer access is sketchy. At the latest it will be tomorrow night. Merci' feel free to get us started driving in the direction of the Caves.))

(thats alright Cin, I'll at least get us underway.)
Merci quickly packed all their gear in the bike, using the compartments that Kasai reavealed for her. She was careful not to smash anything, as their food was packed in those bags as well.
Fauve looked over at Kasai and looked down at herself 'I look horrid... but it's more sensible then my dress was. I don't want to ruin it after all and Merci said where we're going isn't going to be.... clean... Fauve let out a sigh.
Merci took the goggles that Cinder offered to her, she pulled one on over her short cropped red hair and turned helping Fauve get the second set on over her curls in her Mask.
Fauve grimaced a little bit but let her guardian put the odd looking things on her. She didn't know that she liked it very much, but at this point she really didn't have much of a choice.
Merci turned to look at Kasai and smiled at Cinder carefully pulling the goggles on him over the protrusions on the top of his mask. "I think your right, you drive, I'll be the human seat belt." Merci ushered Cinder on the bike and then helped lift the two children on board as well. Climbing on last she pulled the goggles down over her eyes. She couldn't help a small smile as she felt inertia pull on her body when Cinder revved the bike and took off.
Fauve let out a little mental 'Eeep' but she recovered fairly quickly and held on to Kasai as hard as she could. Fauve looked up to see if Inathe was following them. The little lavender hued dragon was high above them, keeping pace on the wind. Knowing that he was alright and following them fairly closely she buried her face into Kasai's back to endure the trip.

*grips onto Fauve's hands holding them close to him* Don't worry I won't let you fall.
*The terrain blurred around them, becoming bits of green, blue, white, and yellows. Cinder kept her eyes on the ground in front of them. At first everything started out smoothly, but the closer they started to get to their destination the rockier the lanscape becomes. Cinder calls back to Merci'*
Hold on tight looks like the road is going to get a bit more bumpy.
*resists the urge to close his eyes tightly, Cinder was going much faster then she ever had with him on the bike before. Instead of closing his eyes he pulled Fauve closer to him.* Just keep holding on. *As he speaks to Fauve he grips the bike harder with his legs.*
*As they enter the rocky area the bike begins to shake as it goes over the rough surface. Craggy rocks surround them and every once in a while the bike will swerve as Cinder is forced to avoid obsticles, ahead Cinder spies a slight ridge that is jutting out into the air, the ridge is about a foot and a half tall. Slightly panicked Cinder looks at her speed, she is going way to fast to break in time for the ridge.*
Ok, we are going to be taking some air on. There is an area I am going to jump ahead. It shouldn't be too bad.
*The ground seems to speed up and the ridge because increasingly close. Bracing herself for the jump Cinder tightens her legs, then hits the ridge! The bike flies, five feet into the air before coming back to the earth. Not bad, Cinder thinks, then she thinks, "Oh s**t". Instead of hitting the ground on it's way back down the bike continues to fall. The ridge was the edge a chasm of some sort with sloping walls. Reacting instinctively Cinder pulls the bike sharply to the side, so that on the way down they would be sliding sideways, but then an obsticle seemed to appear from no where. A sharp rock was standing about two feet out of the ground. The bike's air thrusters were not ready for something like this and didn't have time to react to Cinder's command to swivel out of the way of the rock, or to react to the size of it. The sharp stone bites into the metal that makes up the bottom of the bike and the propulsion system, ripping peices out and throwing them everywhere. The bike slams into the ground sliding on it's metal bottom, then flips over throwing those riding it*
Taffe! *Cinder curses, then looking around she sees were the others have fallen, her vision is a bit blurred. She sees that Kasai has fallen near Favue, it looks like he is still trying to hold her safe. Then the pain starts, her head is pounding and she can tell that her hands and face have been scratched. The main pain though is coming from her leg, looking down in horror she realizes she had not been thrown free of the bike. Cinder's leg is cocked at a strange angle and the hoverbike has trapped it beneath.*
*clenching her teeth in pain* Guys! Are you awake? Is everyone alive?
*Kasai, is floating through a dark void.* Cinder? Fauve? Merci' *he calls into the darkness, he feels lost again...no one is around.*

(absolutely awesome Cinder, Well done!)
Merci had been a little concerned at the speed, but Cinderfae knew what she was doing. After all the woman was an experienced pilot wasn't she? She held the two children as safely as she could and listened to Cinder's warning. Bracing herself on the bike as much as she could she shut her eyes and sucked in a deep breath. She had to admit that she was slightly terrified.
Fauve was freaking out a little bit, her arms tighted around Kasai and she felt the urge to let some of the tension out by screaming. The feeling of weightlessness seemed to grip her suddenly, she hadn't heard Cinder's warning, to worried about falling off already. Air, she felt like she was flying for a moment and her eyes came open as her body slammed into the ground. She couldn't breath, she felt her body laboring for air. She couldn't see, everything was so bright. What happened? what happened to her 'I can't breath, Where are you? help me...' She felt so lost, so afraid.
Merci felt the impact of the ground and layed there a moment. Pure shock ripped through her when she realized where she was. She had been thrown free of the bike and hit a rather large bush that broke most of her fall. She sat up slowly and rubbed her head, clearing her vision took longer then she thought it would. She looked around and saw Cinder and the kids. "Hold on Cinder, Hold on" She heard Fauve's utter terror and crawled over to the girl pulling her up in her arms.
Fauve looked up at Merci and her vision cleared enough for her to see who was holding her. She reached up and clung to her guardian. She was scratched, her hands were scraped up, and her felt bruised all over. Her wrist was throbbing a little bit, but none of it mattered because she knew she was safe.
Merci shushed Fauve and calmed her down, laying her charge back out on the ground she crawled over to Kasai to check on him as well. The boy seemed highly dazed. She stroked his hair and cooed "It's alright Kasai, I'm right here." She half picked up the boy and moved him over with Fauve, hoping the two masks would comfort each other while she saw to Cinder's wounds.

*The darkness around him seemed to subside a bit, blinking his eyes the first thing he saw was the blue of Fauve's eyes. She was upset and crying, pushing the pain in his head away he sat up off of the ground.* Come here Fauve, it will be alright. *Kasai then opens his dusster and wraps her in it with him, patting her back and comforting her.
This was not on the map. *Cinder mutters to herself, while she clenches her teeth against the pain in her leg. Then to Merci'* This is 600lbs of metal, we need to hitch it up on something to get it off of me.
*Cinder's wristband starts talking.*
*clears his throat* I have done a scan of the area and thought you should know we are not the only ones in this chasm, according to my sensors there are tunnels inside the sides of this chasm.
Can you tell what they are?
I do not have that capability.
Alright, let me know if any come out of their tunnels.
*poor Fauve Kasai thinks, maybe if he could get her little dragon thing to come over that would make her feel better. Looks around and when he sees the lavender dragon the tries to gesture it to him and Fauve.*

Merci shut her eyes and clenched her teeth against the pain in her side. She managed to crawl back over to Cinder and look down at the position her leg is in "It's broken isn't it. Well.... we have ropes, and a little dragon..." Merci looked up, she was hoping for a large tree branch, but unluckily enough there weren't any down in this ravine. It seemed far to rocky to be able to sustain any sort of large vegitation. Merci's eyes scanned the walls around them and bit her lip, she glanced over at Fauve. The girl could communicate with her pet far easier then Merci could.
Fauve put her arms around Kasai and hugged him, she winced however when she realized just how much her wrist was hurting her. She pulled herself away from Kasai and looked at her right arm. Her pale skin was purpling dangerously. She looked back up at Kasai and leaned against him again.
Inathe turned his head and chirped at Kasai who was gesturing for him. He stretched his neck out and looked at him turning his head the other way, almost birdlike in his movements. He bounced off the rock he was perched on and hopped a little closer.
Fauve looked up to see what Kasai was doing and nudged him lightly holding up her wrist so he could see it 'It hurts.. I think it's really bad but I don't know.' She didn't sound so sure, but she wanted someone else to see, to make sure that it the injury wasn't as bad as she thought it was.
Merci reached out to Fauve and gave her something of a mental tap 'Darlin, I know your hurting right now but I have to get Cinder out from under this bike. Can you get Inathe to carry a rope up and over that rock outcropping.' She looked down at Cinder and shook her head again, "I hit my head, but I seem to be mostly intact. I might have a couple of broken ribs or something. I don't have much to pull with, but I'm going to try to get Inathe to help me get the rope over that outcropping up there. I might not be able to get the bike in the air but if I attach it right maybe I can lift one end of it and we can slide you out sideways." Merci hated to get into the bike while it was on Cinder but thats where the rope was. She popped open the side hatch like she had seen Kasai do and rooted through it until she found the rope.
Fauve looked over at Inathe, and concentrated on him rather hard. She had to speak loudly and slowly to him to get him to understand her. 'Inathe, get... the... rope... carry.. it... up... there..' Fauve pointed up to the outcropping Merci had gestured to, 'And... put... the.. rope.. up.. over.. it.. then... bring.. it.. back.. down..
Inathe looked like he was REALLY thinking there for a minute then chirped and took off in a little cloud of dust. He swooped down on Merci, taking the rope from her, and carrying it up over the outcropping. He dropped it back down on the two women. He, however, perched on the outcropping looking highly pleased with himself.
Merci looked down at Cinder and says "What do you think is in those caves, and do you think that they could connect to the cave we need to get to?"

Just get the bike pulled up a little bit and I should be able to pull myself out.
*Cin shifted under the wreckage and tried to get her leg a bit more clear of it.*
As for the tunnels we could try, but Mycroft says there are lifeforms in them. I am not sure how easy it will be to get through.
*Kasai strokes Fauve's hair as she talks to Inathe, then he sees his guardian. The fog was finally clearing from his head* I thought I told you, you can't die. You are my only guardian. *Kasai scoots toward Cinder and strokes his hair at the same time as Fauve's*
I am not going to die. Just help Merci' all you can. We will get out of this.
*to Merci'* Pull whenever you can, I think Kasai should be able to help a bit.

Merci nods to Cinder and wraps the rope around the end of the bike closer to where her leg is stuck. She tugs on it a little bit and winces when the bike shifts, knowing that it has to hurt the other woman. Merci grabs the free end and looks over at Kasai, "I'll try to do it, but if it turns out that I can't lift it I might need your help." Merci looked up and grabbed as high as she could on the rope and pulled, using as much of her wieght as she could to get the bike off the ground. She shut her eyes and strained agains the rope, she couldn't see if it worked or not.
Fauve waved at Kasai with her good arm and pulled her bad one toward her. She shut her eyes and pulled her right arm closer to her body hunching over it and trying to feel herself how bad it was. She let out a mental gasp at the pain.
Inathe saw what Merci was trying to do and swooped down hooking his claws in the rope and using his tiny weight to hang off of it, he couldn't be more then 5 or 6 lbs. The little thing wasn't much larger then he was when he hatched.

*The bike at first does not look as if it will budge but after a few moments it starts trembling and pulls free a little bit, Cinder realizing this may be her only hope pulls herself back from the bike in this instant. A few seconds later a bang can be heard. The hoverbike had slammed back into the ground.*
That thing is going to be a pain in the butt to fix. *looking over her shoulder Cinder smiles* Thanks Merci', Fauve, Inathe, and Kasai. I wouldn't have gotten free without you. *pulls a folded paper out of her vest, Cinder opens it, it is the map Merci' gave her earlier. Taking a pen from her pocket Cin starts scribbling the area of the chasm on it.* There now we know about this.
*runs over to Cinder, wrapping his arms around her he almost knocks her over.* I told you I wouldn't leave you like that.
Yeah, you were right. Thanks to all of you I am out.
*Cinder notices the sky and realizes much of the day has been spent over the accident.*
Kasai, grab me the medkit from the hoverbike. We need to get patched up and moving. On our way back I can try and fix the hoverbike up to be driven back to camp, or I may just have to get help and have it dragged back so I can fix it later.
*looking to Merci'* I would do it but I don't know how well I can stand. Could you see if there is something around that can be used as a splint for my leg. I think I have a wrist brace that will work for Fauve, it may be a bit too big but we can make alterations. I want to get out of here by night fall, no telling want might come sneaking around. Plus, those caves make me a bit nervous.

Merci nodded a little bit and dropped the rope. She took a deep breath, she didn't want to let on how much her ribs hurt. After all she seemed to be the most mobile one there right now, and they still had an emerald to find. She idley wondered what it did as she scanned the ground. Why was this emerald so great, other then the fact it was a precious gem and.... bah.. doesn't matter. She grimaced, there wasn't wood anywhere, but she spotted a piece of the hoverbike that seemed to be pretty straight and might be useable. She walked over and picked it up moving back to Cinder. She dropped on her knees next to the woman and held up the piece of metal "This should work at least for one side, you get it positioned and I'll find another one that we can use."
Fauve felt horribly useless and pushed herself back up to her feet. She brushed her good hand over her clothes in a poor attempt to dust off. She saw another piece of metal, it wasn't as long but it was still straight. She picked it up with as few of her fingers as she could and walked it over to the two guardians. She looked a little pleased with herself, but the twinge of pain could still be seen in her eyes.
Merci looked up and took the other piece of metal from her charge smiling at her a little. "Thank you Fauve, I appriciate your help. We can splint you up with this." Merci waited until Kasai brought her the medkit and pulled a couple ace bandages out of it. She felt the bone and pulled Cinder's leg straight and placed the pieces of metal along her leg. "Funny this is the second time I've done this on this planet.. But your right, we need to get moving. We don't know what might be down here, and without the bike we're alot slower then we were before." Merci finished up and patted herself down feeling for her weapons. She glanced at Fauve and then back at Cinder "I just feel bad the kids aren't better armed then they are, think you can try to stand?"

*Cinder sighs in agreement with Merci' on the kids being armed. Cin lowers her eyes thinking. She felt horrible, some pilot she was she had gotten them in a wreck. They hadn't even gotten to their destination yet and now they were already worse for wear.*
There should be a piece of plastic in the med kit curved to the shape of a wrist to a hand, you can use that with an ace bandage for Fauve.
*looking over to Kasai who had sat down after hugging her*
Sai honey, can you go see if you can find me something I can use as a cane?
*nods* I will be right back *he says this to Cinder and Fauve, as he passes fauve he touches her shoulder ressuringly*
Don't go too far.

*Kasai walks off looking for something cane like. He had heard Cinder tell him not to go too far, but he figured nothing would happen to him. He came upon an area of the valley bottom scattered with different objects, looking about he sees one about the right size and shape for Cinder to use to help herself walk. Rushing over he picks it up, looking at it he realizes that this isn't a peice of wood or rock, but something else. Rubbing his hands over the smoothness he realizes that it is bone. With this realization he looks around the area he is stilling and he can see that alot of the things there are bone. Gulping Kasai stands clutching the bone that is taller then him. Perking his ears up he realizes something is very close to him, he can hear snuffling and a growl as it picks up his scent. Without thinking twice Kasai turns and sprints back in the direction of the others.*

*Cinder sits nervously well Merci' works on her leg. She couldn't see Sai at the moment and hoped he was not really that far from them. In a few moments she saw him coming into view, then she realized he was running.*
What the hell!
*Kasai runs to were Cinder is laying, the beast hadn't followed him for some time, or at least he hoped it didn't* I have something that I think can be used.
*Cinder turned it over in her hands.* sai...where did you find this bone?
Over there, I was running because there was something over there. I also saw alot of other bones too.
*Cinder gulps* Merci' Kasai was running from something after he picked this up. *shows her the bone* I think we need to move now and the tunnels may be our only way. *grabs the bone and once Merci' finishes wrapping stands up using the bone as a crutch. *her face scrunches in pain but Cinder is able to take a few steps.* I think I should be fine, maybe a little slow but able to move.
Kasai grab my pack and give it to me so I can put it on my back, then grab yours.

Merci had reached down into the kit and had been taking care of Fauve's wrist when Kasai had wandered off. Merci glanced up at Cinder but she didn't seem to worried about the boy leaving, so she assumed it was something they had talked about. Not ten minutes after the boy left, he can racing back. Merci just finished wrapping Fauve's wrist before looking curiously up at the commotion
Fauve got up and held out her hand, it was a good thing she could use both hands pretty well. Juggling, and tumbling was good for making you versitile. She moved over to look at what Kasai had and shuddered a little bit, it was a white bone.
Merci looked down and blinked, That was a huge... bone... whatever killed it would probably make short work of the four of them. Suddenly this little outing had become alot more dangerous then it had been before. She threw open the last compartments on the bike and ripped out their gear shouldering as much as she could so Cinder wouldn't have the added weight.
Fauve was a little worried, Merci was moving pretty quickly and Fauve knew that her guardian was hurt. She moved over and picked up what she could, but she was still not doing well herself. She reached up and tugged on Merci 'Slow down, if you keel over we're not going to be able to carry you.'
Merci looked down at Fauve and ruffled her hair before glancing at Cinder. "Caves it is... all I'm worried about is that we might be walking into the monster's jaws... but we don't have alot of choice. Neither of us can climb these walls right now, the bike is shreded, and I don't see a path leading anywhere but inside those caves. So... when your ready.." Merci offered her hands to both of the mask children before starting off toward the dark, and uncertain entrance in the rock wall in front of them.
