Click Here For Remember RioThe Police are one of my favorite bands ever. They played some great New Wave music, and their songs are still used all over the place in movies and on TV. 'I'll Be Watching You' and 'Every Little Thing' are among my favorite songs ever. I have tried before to tell her Of the feelings I have for her In my heart Every time that I come near her I just lose my nerve, as I've done From the start But every little thing she does is magic Every thing she does just turns me on Even though my life before was tragic Now I know my love for her goes on Do I have to tell the story Of a thousand rainy days since We first met? It's a big enough umbrella But it's always me that ends up Getting wet Every little thing she does is magic Everything she do just turns me on Even though my life before was tragic Now I know my love for her goes on So I resolve to call her up A thousand times a day And ask her if she'll marry me In some old-fashioned way But my silent fears have gripped me Long before I reach the phone Long before my tongue has tripped me Must I always be alone? Every little thing she does is magic Everything she do just turns me on Even though my life before was tragic Now I know my love for her goes on Post your favorite 80s songs and their lyrics!

One of my favorite 80's songs is "Cars" by Gary Numan.
Here in my car I feel safest of all I can lock all my doors It's the only way to live In cars Here in my car I can hardly receive I can listen to you It keeps me stable for days In cars
Here in my car Where the image breaks down Will you visit me please If I open my door In cars Here in my car You know I've started to think About leaving tonight Although nothing seems right In cars

That was the Police, yes. I've got it on their boxed set. And Gary Numan's cars was fantastic. A real classic of the new wave. VH1 said it was one of the top one-hit wonders of all time.

I don't know if I know that song. I know the band the Cars, though. They're new-wave as well, correct? Another awesome band nonetheless.

eek I cannot believe nobody even BOTHERED to mention Depeche Mode!!!! Depeche Mode's 'Stripped' Come with me Into the trees We'll lay on the grass And let the hours pass Take my hand Come back to the land Let's get away Just for one day Let me see you Stripped down to the bone Let me see you Stripped down to the bone Metropolis Has nothing on this You're breathing in fumes I taste when we kiss Take my hand Come back to the land Where everything's ours For a few hours Let me see you Stripped down to the bone Let me see you Stripped down to the bone Let me hear you Make decisions Without your television Let me hear you speaking Just for me Let me see you Stripped down to the bone Let me hear you speaking Just for me Let me see you Stripped down to the bone Let me hear you crying Just for me

I love the '80s... Wham!, George Micheal, Tears for Fears, Corey Hart, Blondie, and Billy Idol are some of my favorites. I have no idea why (this song is actually kind of annoying) but this is my favorite song from the '80s. It's by Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam:
[Girl] All alone on a Sunday morning Outside I see the rain is falling, whoa... Inside I'm slowly dying But the rain will hide my crying, crying, crying And you Don't you know my tears will burn the pillow Set this place on fire 'cause I'm tired of your lies All I needed was a simple "Hello" But the traffic was so noisy that you could not hear my cry
I, I gave you my love in vain My body never knew such pleasure My heart never knew such pain And you, you leave me so confused Now I'm all cried out Over you
[Boy] Oh you, all over you, ooh....
Never wanted to see things your way I had to go astray Oh, why was I such a fool Now I see that the grass is greener [Girl: Why, oh why...] Is it too late for me to find my way home How could I be so wrong?
[Girl] Leaving me all alone
Don't you know the hurt will cause an inferno Romance up in flames Why should I take the blame? You were the one who left me neglected [Boy: Oh, no no no...I'm so sorry] Apology not accepted Add me to the broken hearts you've collected
I, I gave you all of me [Boy: Gave me all of you] How was I to know You would weaken so easily I, I don't know what to do Now I'm all cried out [Boy: I'm all...] Over you [Boy: All cried out too...whoa, whao..]
[Girl] I, I gave you my love in vain My body never knew such pleasure My heart never knew such pain And you
[Boy] I left you so confused! Now I'm all cried out
[Girl] Now I'm all cried out Over you......

I was raised on the stuff! Hee hee. I've always loved Queen, Billy Idol, the Cars, the Police, the Pretenders....and the quintessential 80s new wave band that is sadly so obscure...The Boomtown Rats. They only had one album that got any recognition, The Art of Surfing. Every song is fantastic, but the only one that received a little radio play was "I Don't Like Mondays". Bonus fact o' fun: the Boomtown Rats' frontman, Bob Geldof, played the part of Pink Floyd in The Wall.

Their first video was for 'You Might Think' and featured Ric Ocasec's head on a fly's body flying around and announcing his love for some gorgeous blonde. Who he married, I think. I don't remember her name, but she was a famous model.

Actually, I'm listening to the Cars right now. "Just What I Needed is one of the greatest songs to come out of the 80's, in my opinion. Also, "Drive" is good lyrically, musically, and because it's one helluva pun when you think about the band's name.

I think it was Ziggy Marley. Terrific reggae beat. It was fantastic. My favorite Cars song is 'Tonight She Comes'. I did a lot of a capella in high school and college, and that one was so easy to arrange for my groups... and sounded just terrific.

I think I remember it, and yeah, it was pretty sweet. "Tonight She Comes" is another good one, although for some reason it's not one of my favorites. I think "Just What I Needed" made some kinda crazy bond with my brain, and it was all over. xd
