not to bash your opinion BUT I HATE FALL OUT BOY its not that i hate emo music i just cant stand them

ERRR I HATE THEM!!! burning_eyes i dont hate emo music i luv that stuff just them and some other band...EXSPECAILY THEM!!!

Fall Out Boy is just a pathetic excuse for a band. In my eyes, they are just as bad as Green Day (After they sold out).

i like fall out boy. 3nodding and darn proud of it! but i don't really consider them "emo."

i think their emo as hell....if hottopic sellz their stuff then everyone is going to be all over them rolleyes but yeah i like some emo music but not most stare but whatever to each their own!! 3nodding

you are saying you dont like emo music. I understand why people think the term emo means depressed people but emo music is something COMPLETELY different. In its original incarnation, the term emo was used to describe a subgenre of hardcore punk which originated in the Washington, DC music scene of the mid-1980s. In later years, the term emocore, short for "emotional hardcore", was also used to describe the DC scene and some of the regional scenes that spawned from it. The term emo was derived from the fact that, on occasion, members of a band would become spontaneously and strongly emotional during performances. The most recognizable names of the period included Rites of Spring, Embrace, One Last Wish, Beefeater, Gray Matter, Fire Party, and, slightly later, Moss Icon. The first wave of emo began to fade after the breakups of most of the involved bands in the early 1990s.
