[insert name of] Space Station is a neutral territory, manned by peoples of all the known races. It looks something like a double ended top, with seven rings of varying sizes surrounding a central spoke. The smallest rings are on the outer edges, growing substantially larger until you hit the central ring which happens to have the largest shopping center in this part of the galaxy due to all the multi-racial products. It also houses a large sports arena adaptable to many galactic favorites. The central spoke has a large sphere in the center which houses the various command centers for the station, as well as the power station and a large hospital.

Ring 2 houses all manner of mechanical necessities and repair equipment, as well as building materials. If they don't have it on hand, chances are someone here can order it for you. This is where you go when you need more housing, a generator, or just something to repair the air conditioning unit.

Ring 5 is far more mundane, but just as useful. It's the residential area, which also happens to have hotels if you need to stay the night. There are pediatricians and various other doctors here that can check to see if that cold is just a cold or not. They'll also tell you if you actually need to be going to the hospital to get a cast for that broken ankle you thought was just a sprain.

Ring 6 is the home of several corporate offices and even a couple of recruiting stations. The non-crew big shots of the place live here, and they run the shops and hold a lot of sway on the station. It might be a good spot to apply for a job, or accidentally make a bad enemy...

The Central Spoke, or rather the sphere in the middle of it, is where the commands that run the station are given. Eyes constantly monitor certain areas of the station, and in the power room they keep vigilant eye upon the instruments that tell them if something is off with the Generator or if a power cable needs repair. The only area that isn't restricted access here is the hospital, which is open to anyone in need of medical care.

Haisyn hated going to densely populated areas, especially ones like this where there were people from who-knows-how-many places. It may have been a few years since she escaped from home but she could never be entirely sure that they'd given up looking for her yet.
Unfortunately... there simply weren't very many of the other colonists still on base to have come up here in her stead, and many of those colonists remaining at the moment seem to have become lost, because no one had heard from them for a while. That was the thing with Masquerade, though; people would disappear for days at a time, find some great secret or horrible danger, overcome it, and show back up. They'd just all found a rather inconvenient time to disappear.
She also hated to admit it but she probably needed the change of pace. She'd been getting restless and there were very few solutions to it aside from simply going somewhere. And maybe if she kept an eye out she could catch any family spies snooping around before they could cause any trouble for her new family and friends.
There was also no doubt in her mind that Ashirha was enjoying herself immensely. She'd been fairly bubbling with excitement since they boarded the transport shuttle that had been called down.
They had arrangements for a slightly larger cargo transport to take them back down along with the equipment they picked up, of course. A passenger transport wasn't fitted to carry machinery and building materials.
Hai almost leapt out of the transport after docking had finished, feeling slightly less wired now that there was room to move around. She barely avoided being run over by Ash when the Masque girl bounded out after her, and had to bodily grab her to keep her from darting off. The girl might be a teen again, but she'd never seen anything remotely like this space station before and there was a LOT of trouble to be found for the mischievous Whimsy to get into.
"Hey Gee, why don't you go ahead and take the kids down to the center ring and I'll take care of the equipment ordering. And a second transport if we can't get everything today." She had to stop what she was saying to grab Ash again and shook her head in exasperation. "I don't think Ash is willing to wait on me."
She smiled as Ashirha tried, but didn't quite manage, to look apologetic. And she didn't think the failure was entirely due to the mask, either. "You might as well go pick up those new colonists, too. She's been asking all sorts of questions about them that I can't answer because I haven't met them either."
Ash finally freed herself from Haisyn's grip and grabbed both Nika and Gee by the arm and towed them off in a random direction with all the enthusiasm of a kid in a toy store. You heard her! Let's GO!

G_E's response to leaving Masquerade wasn't very different from Hai's or Ashy's. Everything was so exciting! Everything was so unlike what she was used to. The smells, the sounds, the dozens of people!
A part of her worried that they wouldn't be able to find the new colonists amongst all of the hustle and bustle.
"Nika," she whispered to him, "How do you think we'll find the new colonists?"
He smiled at her and after fishing around in the pockets of his jeans, presented a slip of paper with the names of the new colonists to his Chosen.
"Alright, then," she shrugged, still slightly unsure about how, exactly, they would meet up with these people.
The blonde girl barely had time to respond to Hai before she and her boy were being dragged away in the opposite direction.
"Ashy!" Nika laughed and hurried to keep up with her, "Where are we going?"

Sissi Reed stepped lightly into the "hustle and bustle" her mind wandering. She had agreed to come to this planet only because it meant being able to study an alien species. A scientist has to do what a scientist has to do. Her mind was fluttering with all sorts of weird expectations, so much so that she completely stopped tkaing in the sights around her. Maybe she could ahve been a better scientist if she actually... OBSERVED! She was regretting leaving Seema at home with a babysitter, what if the sitter needed to ge ahold of her?
"I want my apartment!" she moaned unhappily. She was considering timeshifting enough that she could co exist on Gaia as well as this new strange planet.
"What am I supposed to do now!?" Sissi was prone to talking to herself when she was confused or exited, and this was a mixture of both.

Wandering aimlessly had never been her favorite pastime but during the last few months of waiting and hoping, it was little wonder that she had grown used to such measures. Piper Menandros sat quietly on a vacant bench, occasionally glancing up at those passing her by, eyeing them with some jealousy. They knew where they were going and why they were going; they had purpose and their lives were full of falsified meaning.
What did she have?
It hadn't even truly been her idea to set off for a new planet or to start another life. Piper didn't think she'd been quite finished with the last one before it had broken to shards and sliced her to ribbons. No, it had been her mother - meddling once more in business that was not her own - who had instructed her daughter that this was the best possible opportunity and that it was likely to be the last one she would receive.
The flyers advertising the Masquerade colony were plastered everywhere still, many of them lying in puddles of spent fuel or stagnant water. The bold print describing beautiful landscapes and friendly inhabitants tried to stare her down from brown, semi-transparent liquid.
"s**t," She muttered, tempted to spit at it just to feel a little more in control. The woman absently moved to itch her left hand, shivering a little when her hand met air and she had to inch her tentative finger back to where the flesh actually started. The stump was healing up nicely, ending only a few inches south of her elbow, but it was rough to the touch and equally unpleasing to the eye. She withdrew her good hand with a sigh, grabbing her bags and rising to her feet.
"Pen, we're leaving." She called reluctantly, heart stalling a little when a shadowy figure righted itself from the back of the bench, movements somehow both awkward and graceful. "Christ, I hadn't seen you there."
The shadow-creature shrugged with a lanky man's shoulders, gold-green eyes studying her like a wary feline's. He moved in utter silence to stand beside her, hunched over slightly so that his signifcant height was less apparent in his mind.
"Right, well," She hated it when he acted like that, but there was no sense in letting it show on her face. "We're off then,"
He waited for her to step in the appropriate direction before following, hands jammed into the pockets of the tattered jeans he never took off. It was bright in Ring 5, almost glaringly so in some strange attempt to mimic sunlight, and the dusky purple-black sheen of his skin was easy to look upon in contrast. Piper watched him sulk for only a few moments before handing him several of the packed bags to give him something constructive to do and moving on.
She had initally been tempted to leave him behind when she'd planned the move, drop him off at her mother's house with instructions to care for the rather enigmatic being; but Piper knew full-well that he would have thrown tantrums and grown progressively more volatile in her absence, an abandoned duty left to its own devices. The incident which had involved her leaving him to go grocery shopping was still fresh in her mind, and she'd never bothered to purchase a new television or reupholster the couch and loveseat.
Besides, he'd rather grown on her. Damn him.
The lift to Ring 1 was an unnervingly silent ride, but Piper was getting better at absorbing it every day. When they stepped out, she hesitated, glancing around at the confusion of the space port and trying to realign her bearings.
"How the hell are we supposed to find the right transport?" She grumbled, adjusting the bag she held in the crook of her partially amputated arm and hoping for something familiar to crop up in her line of vision.

((Ok, Tis, maybe find a restaurant or something else in 4th ring to occupy Sissy with for a bit longer. We're about to hook up with Piper for Lady O and then we'll come find you, and if you pick a spot it'll be easier to run into you. :3))
Ash had absolutely no idea where they were going. She'd just followed her natural impulse to go. We're gonna go find something fun to do while Hai is being a putz and doing all the boring stuff, of course! That much, at least, she knew.
Once she was certain the others were following her she let them go. It was busy up here and it was difficult to get around with the sort of half-stumbling trot they were all doing because of her grip on their arms. And while it was busy, it was all so different! Ashirha was trying without success to look at everything at once, which might explain why she walked right into Piper. She stumbled a few paces to the side, but she probably would have regained her balance if a dock mechanic hadn't sideswiped her from the other direction.
After landing unceremoniously on her butt she looked around to see who or what she'd run into and saw Piper recovering herself. She looked familiar... GEE! I think I found one!
Ash had learned to "yell" with her telepathy stone, but unfortunately it wasn't as directed as it was when she sent a normal telepathic message, so Piper was probably left wondering what exactly she was one of.
Haisyn in the mean time was on the other side of the dock taking a lift down to the machinery floor to pick up some equipment... and was left wondering what exactly Ash had found as well. She got such a headache when her charge yelled like that.
((Oh, and Lady O? Could you pick a nick name for Ygg that's not Ash? XD;;; While it might be entertaining it would be easier if both girls didn't look up when called. >>))
