The meaning behind AIDA that makes the most sense is that which was revealed in trailers such as the E3 trailer:

However, in the previously mentioned Prototype Trailer released with the Japanese game, a variety of meanings for AIDA were revealed:

One of the first Vagrant A.I.'s seen in the .hack series her first apperance was in .hack//sign, though she also appeared in the first games and the manga's.
She is tightly linked to tsukasa in .hack//sign and develop's as he do's in the game feeding off his emotions.

The Descendants of Fianna are Balmung of the azure sky, and Orca of the azure sea. they receive this title in .hack//AI buster after defeating the twilight dragon.

W.B Yeats, and the only thing that he has involved in .hack// is that this is Hokuto's (see .hack//A.I. buster book 1 and two) character that she uses as a net poet. She witnesed Orca and Balmung defeat the Twilight Dragon in the One Sin or Zawan Shin event with Alberio, and gave them the names "Descendants of Fianna." Alberio is mentioned as the "Warrior with the eyes of the stars", making a remark to his eyes of two colors, named after the constellation Alberio which consists of binary stars.

The test version of "The World" though project dot hack in japan has no offical release. an american team has started to make this a reality in the U.S. but guess what. its free!! plan's on making there baby of a game into a full 3d MMORPG is under way.

Harald Hoerwick
The architect of the world W.B. Yate's had a suitcase that he kept handcuffed to his wrist and locked. inside is believed to be the program for Aura, the many data anomaly region's, and the upside down Yate's that are seen through out the world.

On Harald Hoerwick, it might be a good idea to mention that he disappeared, along with the contents of his suitcase, possibly leaving the true meaning behind Morgana Mode Gone and other anomalies within the world forever a mystery. I don't think W.E. Yates is a person.. 'Yates' is the name of an important poet throughout the .hack series, but I think her name is Y.B. Yates or something...

Harald Hoerwick's "black box" held a program that automatically produces a perfectly functioning A.I. He invented Lycoris, an A.I from before Aura even. And Morgana Mode gone inevitably caused the death of Lycoris, while it was Alberio himself who used Wotan's Spear on her, and she deleted herself.

a Player Killer (or player killer kiler). some one who goe's out against their fellow player's and kills them for their item's. gold, or just for fun.
although in the begining of "The World" PK's where a rare site they seam to have picked up siqnificently now having entire guilds of PK's. due to the increase CC Copr admin added an Arena to "The World" for such player's ti fight.

"The World"
After the entire internet crashed it was sent out to private company's to fix the problem and get their own version up and running. One of these company's was Altimate.
Also known as Cyber Connects Corporation, they created the first MMORPG for the new system. and named their creation Fragement.
Fragement being the beta, or test version of "The World" it had quite a few error's and data anomoly's. some of these where fixed but many where not, and in turn carried into the final version. however CC Corp is constantly updateing the world trying to "fix" the problem's.

December 24th, 2005
A virus named the ‘Pluto’s Kiss’ causes all networks around the world to crash, and all computers and systems connected to the network to experience irreparable malfunctions. With the network recovering 77 minutes later, the fragile nature of the worldwide network is exposed. It is later discovered that a 10 year old grade school student was behind the creation of the phenomenal virus.
Summer, 2006
The WNC (United Nations’s World Network Council), reintroduces a proposal that had been vetoed earlier in April of 2004, of the "New Generation Hyper Net" with the corporate network OS ALTIMIT as the standard OS, as it had been the only Operating System to evade "Pluto's Kiss". ALTIMIT has then become a worldwide name and with this, many core developers leave to form the CyberConnect Corporation (CC Corporation).
May, 2007
In that same summer that CC Corporation was established, they were approached by a German programmer, Harald Hoerwick, who pitched his product - a MMORPG named "Fragment". Though network games were heavily restricted by the WNC, due still to the relative newness of the new world network, in the hopes of reviving the network game market, the WNC grants special permission to the CC Corporation a year later.
The Beta product of Fragment has the largest amount of network users online only two months later. As it's popularity grows, rumors begin to circulate of it's connection to a long lost net-distributed text known as the Epitaph of Twilight that the game is supposedly based from. The poem Epitaph of Twilight is written by the love interest of Harald Hoerwick, Emma Wielant, who died before she finished it.
December 24th, 2007
In October, with ALTIMIT OS becoming the main computer operating system of the world, the WNC decides to remove all restrictions from the new network starting December 24, 2007 and declaring that day as a new holiday to be known as "Virgin's Kiss". CC Corporation announces that Fragment would officially be launched on that day, as the game The World. Over the next few months, a flurry of reservations caused CC Corporation's stock to surpass even Altimit Corporation. Downloads began at midnight, December 24.
By 2008, The World has over 20 million players.
2016
After a fire in the main CC Corp. building in the year 2015, The World servers and much of its data, including character data, was destroyed.* It was later spliced with another project CC Corp. was working on at the time and re-released as The World R:2 (The World Revision 2) the next year. However, many old players were upset when they found they could not use their old characters and quit playing the game. Fortunately, the new version attracted many new players and over twelve million copies of The World R:2 were sold worldwide.
By 2017, Player Killers have overrun The World R:2.

the precursor to the more advanced A.I.D.A Vagraint A.I.s are no more then data in the game that take the form of a character.
Vagraint A.I.s are bugs in the network as seen by CC Corp and are removed by team's such as the Cobalt Knight Brigade.
