Terminology:
Lifestream: Comprised of a vast swell of ethereal green life energy called "Spirit Energy," the Lifestream is the spiritual essence of the Planet and the source of all living things upon it. In the game's world, when a new organism is conceived, some of the Lifestream's energy is gifted to that life form so that it may live. During an organism's lifetime, it grows and acquires memories from its experiences, such that when it dies, the Spirit Energy gifted to it returns to the Planet, taking with it the memories the life form accrued. In turn, these memories contribute to the cycle of life as a whole by becoming more Spirit Energy and allowing the Lifestream to grow. Because the Lifestream is responsible for creating all living things, when it is depleted, sections of the Planet's surface become barren. Mako reactors contribute to this by siphoning energy from the Lifestream and condensing it into a liquid substance called "Mako Energy," from which it can be converted into electrical energy or fuel. The Lifestream's energy can become mako via this artificial process or via a natural process of rising to the Planet's surface. However, when occurring naturally, it doesn't occur to such a great extent that it depletes the Planet's energy, as is the case when the process is expounded by the use of mako reactors. Materia, also, are a by-product of the Lifestream's energy, created when its condensed form, mako, crystalizes. Materia are small spheres of differing colors that provide their wielders with various magical abilities.

Mako poisoning: The ill effects, similar to those of a coma, that arise when one is in contact with the Lifestream's energy for an extended period of time. The cause is an overload of knowledge and memories in one's mind.

Neo Shin-Ra: The reincarnation of the former Shin-Ra Inc. Neo Shin-Ra hides behind the guise of a manufacturing corporation when in reality, they are manipulating Rolensia and Azkin in order to gain more power. The corrupt scientific engineers at Shin-Ra have been hard at work constructing a bio-weapon but knowledge of this hasn’t been leaked out to the public. Their goal is to unleash these weapons on the earth in order to create absolute chaos and bring forth the Chosen One and use his power to gain control of the entire planet.

Breed: The bio-weapon being created by the scientific engineers at Shin-Ra. It’s capabilities are unknown as of yet but it is definitely an intimidating creature.

Chosen One: “Chosen One”, in legends, translated from ancient Cetra scripts, it is said that a great warrior, the final Cetra, carrying the heart of the mighty phoenix shall lead the world through a time of chaos and into a time of great prosperity. His blade shall strike the earth in it’s wound and bring forth the life stream, cleansing the earth of all that is unhealthy to the planet. Than from the tears that he sheds for the many lost souls new beings shall be created and the planet will begin a new.

Turks: Are a special task force created by Shin-Ra. They focus on finding candidates for SOLDIER and even kidnapping people for use in the Breed experiment. Now they have turned their attention to finding the chosen one.

Soldier: The elite military force of Shin-Ra each of the members have been injected with Jenova cells and Mako energy.

Cetra: An ancient race of nomadic people who had supposedly created a link with the earth and the lifestream.

Major Locations:
Rolensia: A kingdom forged on a hierarchy, the people of Rolensia are well fed and taken good care of by their kingdom. The king is quite friendly and is welcoming of all kinds of people, except the Al Bhed. The Rolensians believe that the Al Bhed have betrayed the people of Terrafynn with their eagerness to push forward with technology. In the depths of Rolensia is Neo Shin-Ra, the reincarnation of an ancient manufacturing company. They supply Rolensia with most of it’s military power and energy. Little do they know that another branch of Neo Shin-Ra is located in Azkin, offering them the same supplies as Rolensia. Rolensia is the location of the world’s most renowned Garden, Rolensia Garden. Rolensia is located on The East Continent.

Azkin: An empire built on the need to control, Azkin is on the loosing side of a war between themselves and Rolensia, and though they have been trying to conquer most of the world they haven’t had much luck. In the Azkin Empire, Al Bhed are traded as slaves and are purchased for that same reason. A branch of Neo Shin-Ra is located in Azkin. Azkin is unaware of the branch that exists in Rolensia. Azkin is home to yet another garden, Azkin Garden, which serves as more of an orphanage for unwanted children. Azkin located on The West Continent.

Home: The location of fugitive Al Bhed, they do not trust outsiders unless they are accompanied by an Al Bhed. They are always welcoming of such travelers and befriend them quickly. Home remains in the middle of the Ranaz Desert.

Ranaz Desert: The location of Home, Ranaz Desert is vast, spanning over most of the northern continent. Within Ranaz Desert are many ruins of ancient civilizations believed to have belonged to the first humans. It is also believed that the land was once frozen over, which is difficult to believe considering that it is now an arid desert.

Rolensia Garden: The world’s most renowned school for military training, where students are trained to join an elite mercenary unit called Seed.

Azkin Garden: Labeled as the worst garden in Terrafynn. Azkin acts more as an orphanage and a boot camp than a school.

The Story so far:

Terrafynn, a world divided by war and chaos. Its’ existence has been threatened many times prior and every time heroes have arisen to save it. Now the world has returned to a normal state. The war between Azkin and Rolensia is coming to an end. Gardens have been reinstated in order to help keep children off of the streets and to expand Neo Shin-Ra’s money pouch. Neo Shin-Ra has proved itself quite useful over the past few decades by bringing Terrafynn from the dark ages back into the life of luxury, using Mako energy as it’s power source. However trouble has arisen from within the Neo Shin-Ra headquarters. Neo Shin-Ra has great political power due to it’s connections with both sides of the war and garden. Though the chaos caused by the empire is coming to a close, a new age of chaos is preparing to dawn. Our story begins in the Garden located in Rolensia.

Personality:: Withdrawn and Anti-Social, Xanatos is a very strange warrior who has seperated himself from the rest of the world. Due to this he always seems very detatched and cold. He is definately a pecimist, meaning he tends to look at the darker side of life. He is always in a dark place that many depressed people go but do not wish to stay. His gaze is always intense, signifying that he is always deep in thought. He can often be very paranoid and clostrophic. Though he often creeps out other adventurers he is accepted as an ally becuase his skills in combat are almost completely unparalleled.
Occupation:: Student
Background:: Young, mysterious and rebellious, Xanatos has little knowledge of his existance. After an accident, that occured when he first joined garden, he has been struck with a severe case of amnesia. He lives in darkness and remains hidden away from the rest of the world. Always trying to piece back together the fragmented remains of his twisted past, Xanatos serves garden loyally, reguardless of mistreatment due to being an Al Bhed. He has an increased understanding of the lifestream, mako and materia. He seems to have a complete understanding of Shinra Inc. that anyone else would pass along as a wacked out conspiracy, however he is correct to the very letter. The flash backs he falls victom too are incredibly frightening. Showing the process of a twisted experiment. This is why the young man works hard to distance himself from Shira Inc. Shinra seems interested in the boy and keeps a close eye on him, however his connection with Shinra remains unknown as of yet.
Appearance:: Long crimson hair tumbles to his lower back, just above his pant line. What's left of his bangs hangs off to the left in a very "Sephiroth-esque" way. His eyes are ignited in flame, literally! His eyes are a swirling, vortex of flame, giving him a very hypnotic stare. One experienced in reading someone's eyes can see that coupled with an ever burning hatred is an inquenchable thirst to belong. His lonliness is written throughout his gaze and his detatched life style. His skin is pale and strangely free of body hair. His face symbolic of an experienced warrior, a long jagged scar runs vertically over his right eye. He stands about 6'3" and weighs about 132 lbs.

Personality:: Quiet, but not shy by any means, and can be brutally honest. He always seems to know what's going on, and often keeps part of the story from things. He keeps cool in dangerous and hectic situations, and seems to be older than he appears.

Occupation:: Ex-Rank A SOILDER, presently a mercenary
Background:: He was the third of Shin-Ra's Rank A SOLDIER's seconded only by Sephiroth and Zack, he quit after realizing what Shin-Ra and SOLDIER were doing and has valuable inside information on Shin-Ra. Cid has determined to stop Shin-Ra in their evil experiments.

Appearance:: His hair was short and black with dyed red tips, his eyes shone much like Sephiroth's did, the only difference is that his eyes were sky blue, rather than green. He was ripped, stood roughly 6'5" and weighed easily 210 pounds. He often wore sunglasses with mirrored lenses so that no one could see his eyes unless they were off or fallen onto his nose. He wore a long white trench coat that was nearly too big for him, baggy black dress pants, a pair of wheat(light brown) shoes, and a red button up shirt.

Habits: Tends to either be smoking or has a toothpick in his mouth.
