We've done the typical "Fave Book" thread, but what about books you thought were really weak? I don't mean like easy children's books, but just books that were badly done in some way or other. Know any? razz

Hmm...Labrynth of Evil by James Luneco. If he had just use proper grammer it might be understandable.

I'm not even gonna ask.... lol
Actually, I don't know if I have one. But there's been a few I just couldn't get into, like Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke.

I don't know any books that weren't well written... by my standards, at least. I have several I don't like, but none that weren't well written.
Dracula. I hated that damn book! It was just a bunch of journal entries, not really getting into the suspense or anything. They didn't even get cool vampires until Lucy was turned into one! I struggled to read it... but I couldn't. I stopped about half way.
Fire Bringer. It's a book that was written by... Hm. I dunno. He wrote "The Sight", which is a good book, but I can't place the name of the author... and I'm too lazy to go get up and check. XD I just didn't like it. It was about deer. D.E.E.R. The animals. I just got uberly bored with it, before I even got to the quarter mark. I stopped about... the first chapter? I'm thinking of forcing myself to read it, but I just don't like it much. I couldn't get into the story.
And... that's it. XD Wait! ... No, nevermind. I like that book. XD

I liked Firebringer...
Then again, I read that in 6th grade when I was still partially in my Redwall phase.
Speaking of which, I didn't like The Outcast of Redwall(I think that's the title?). 'Cause all of the characters I liked died. >.>

Eh, Fire Bringer was okay. (Some of my friends go around chanting the prophecy.) But yeah The Sight was awesome and a whole lot better than it. Oh yeah the author's name is David Clement-Davies.

I hate The Fountainhead, by Ayn Rand. It is pure hatred as far as my heart goes. predictable from the first page too.

Is it? I was kinda thinking that was the author of the Obisedian trilogy, but now that you said the name I think its Lawrence Watt-Evans. I loved that book... but this is a hatred thread. XD
Another book I don't like... hmm... The Named. It's a really good book actually, it's just that it's written in first person, and I can't quite get into it because of that.

Ehrm. I don't think I know of a book that wasn't well written, either.
I know there was one I read for school that I didn't like, though... I can't exactly remember what it was or why, but I didn't like it xD

I would not suggest reading The Advetures of Luke Skywalker (which was made into the movie A New Hope) because George Lucas just cannot write.

Gah..."A Light in the Forest" by Conrad Richter. My English teacher MADE us read it. It's a good thing that the project we had to do had NOTHING to do with reading the book. I think I got about halfway through before I felt like burning it. It was soooooooooooooooooo boring. But all of my friends told me about what happened except at the end. I don't think anyone in our class except my worshipper (long story, don't ask) who's like super smart and has a really big attention span got entirely through the book... And...Farenheight 451. Gosh, it's a really good story and it's really intriguing, but the way he writes...it's so confusing. It took me until I was about halfway through the book to understand the whole 'family in the parlour' thing. So yeah, I like it, but I would probably never in my life read it again.
